The Adventures of Axel F

Present Day

"So that's where you got the gold coat, we found all that stuff inside M.I.F.T, and we didn't know whether you put there or not.", Mom smiled at you, running her hoof through your hair.

Then, Redheart walked back into the room, followed by none other than Princess Easifat.

"Greetings, Axel F! I'm so sorry about Quickbolt....", she sighed.

You replied, "You must be pretty upset about Pink and Purple as well, if they didn't come to help us..."

"Do not blame yourself, Dear Axel. They only came because your quest offered more adventure. And they wouldn't have wanted anything else.", Princess Easifat smiled, taking a seat next to Twilight, "And from now on, Princess Twilight, we shall be attending every Friendship Council!"

Twilight beamed, "Wow! That's great to hear! It'll be much more interesting! I've always wanted to study Sanish culture!"

"So Pink and Purple went with you when you left the desert?", Fluttershy asked.

You sighed, "No, but they came when we were having the final showdown with Tirek. And they helped turn the tide."

"I thought you guys all talked backwards and all messed up?", Dash asked, looking at Princess Easifat with curiosity.

Princess Easifat giggled, "We did, because it was a tradition started by my great grandfather. We were working on having it altered so that we only talk backwards on his birthday, when Brave Axel and his compatriot visited us. Now tell me, Axel....where did you go after you left Sanland?"

"We journeyed out to the center of the ocean, and saved a kingdom of Merponies by finding the Coral Princess! Well, let's start at the beginning!", you smiled, grabbing more paper and a fresh pen.

Chapter 3

The Wimple of Water

You had now altogether left the continent in a matter of 3 days, you were now heading towards the below sea level empire, Ciudad En El Mar. The kingdom had an unusual way of monarchy. Every 534 years, a new, fresh batch of coral would be given life by the current Coral Monarch, and rule Ciudad En El Mar for another 534 years. Yep. Pieces of coral. Sitting on the throne.

Merponies though, look kinda like regular ponies. Except with gills, a fin instead of a mane, and a fish tail instead of a horsehair tail. About 3000 years ago, there was a time when the Merponies ruled themselves, but this resulted in civil war. When they finally made peace, they decided that a species that was older and wiser than the Merponies should rule. The coral reefs.

Ciudad En El Mar was also known for supplying Equestria with Perlas De Zafiro, or Sapphire Pearls! They were a peaceful empire, only ever experiencing war once, during their civil clash. They always showed up to the Friendship Council.

You now landed on a giant dock, the one that is used whenever Celestia or anyone else come to visit, so naturally it would have guards. Two yellow Merponies with harpoons looked up, jaws dropping when they saw M.I.F.T land.

You were the first one out, hands in the air, shouting, "Don't shoot! We come in peace! Do you think we can talk to the Merpony in charge around here?"

The guards looked at each other before nodding. They led you to an elevator, and down into the depths you went! It you about 45 minutes to reach the sea floor, a whole empire being built there. As you walked into another room, they handed you a deep blue trench coat, and Quickbolt a deep blue tunic.

"These will help you breathe underwater, water, water.", the first guard replied, making it sound like he was echoing.

And, soon, you stepped, out into the bottom of the sea, you felt wet, but you weren't wet. They also gave you weighted boots, so you wouldn't float away. All the Merponies stared, the young ones gasping and saying things like, "Momma? What is that, that, that?"

You smiled and waved at them, Quickbolt sighing. You made it to the palace, and inside, was an empty throne, with an old red Merpony pacing back and forth.

"Chancellor Antiguo! We have visitors, visitors, visitors!", a guard reported.

The red Merpony, known as Chancellor Antiguo, looked at you and Quickbolt before smiling, "Hello! Welcome to Ciudad En El Mar! How can I help you two today, today, today!"

"I am Axel F, Hat Hero of Canterlot! And this is my companion, Quickbolt, Elven Archer of the Everfree Forest!", you replied, tipping your hat to him.

Chancellor Antiguo exclaimed, "Adventurers! Excellent! Perhaps you can help us with our dire situation, ation, ation! But first, what brings you to our peaceful kingdom, dom, dom?"

"We're here for the Wimple of Water! Do you have it?", Quickbolt answered, impatience in her voice.

Chancellor Antiguo said, "Oh yes! We have it! But I'm afraid that you can't have it until Princess Escarlata! Without her, we need the Wimple to give life to the Coral Heir in 534 years, years, years!"

He then noticed the flute you had around your neck, "Is that Princess Easifat's magic flute, flute, flute?"

"Yeah.....she gave it to me and taught me a song to summon her. Why?", you replied.

Chancellor Antiguo smiled, "There's a certain song she plays that the Coral Monarch loves whenever she visits. It starts singing along, if I teach you The Coral's Cadenza, we can locate Princess Escarlata much faster, faster, faster!"

"And how is that? How does a piece of coral get lost anyway?", Quickbolt asked.

Chancellor Antiguo replied, "She is still quite young, she's only 34 years old. She didn't know better than to wander off....you see, coral ages 10 years slower than we do. For example, when she was 15 years old, she had the mentality of a 1 year old. So in actuality, she's only 3! We need to find her!"

"Don't worry! We'll find her! But first, can you teach me the song?", you asked, eager to begin your side quest.

About 35 minutes later, you were on the far end of Ciudad En El Mar, playing the song on your flute, when you heard a small little voice singing along. You turned the corner to find a bipedal scarlet coral, singing the Coral's Cadenza, while playing in the sand.

She looked up at you and smiled, "My name Escarlata!"

"It sure is...", you smiled, picking up the baby coral and heading back towards the palace.

Back at the palace, Chancellor Antiguo took the little princess into his hooves and squeezed her, "Oh, Escarlata! I was so worried about you! What do you have to say for yourself, self, self?"

"Sorry....", she whimpered.

He then turned to you, still cradling Escarlata in his hooves, "Thank you, so much! Now you can have the Wimple! And inside, you'll find a song that will help you when you sail to Frana Paese! It's a 2 week journey by air, but by sea, you should be there in a fortnight! It's called the Wind's Waltz. It will summon a stormy wind that will get you to your destination! You two have a safe journey! I hope you find what you're looking for, for, for!"

"Thanks again!", you smiled, waving, as they pulled M.I.F.T into the sea, the propellers on the bottom pulled themselves in, and let the sail take over, "Alright....he said to sail west for a fortnight, and we should reach Frana Paese, which is the edge of the continent, Merveilleux! We 3 out of 6! Then we can go home and take down Tirek!"

You looked over and noticed that Quickbolt looked upset.

You sat down and put your arm around her, "What's wrong?"

"I'm scared. I've never been this far from home before. Mum always told me that I wouldn't last a day outside the Everfree...."

You replied, "But look at you now! You're doing great! You're proving that you can handle yourself!"

"I know.....I just wish she was here to see me now....", she cried, resting her head on your shoulder as tears stained your red coat.

You sighed, "I'm sorry Quickbolt....I'm sorry...."
