My Little Pony Equestria Girls: An Alternate Legend

Twilight Sparkle lay in her bed. As she twisted and turned, she muttered "No...can't be....not true..." in her sleep. The morning light poured into the room, illuminating the numerous books she kept in her room. Not long afterward, a knocking was heard on Twilight's door

"Um...Twilight?" the familiar voice of Fluttershy called out. While futile in waking up Twilight, her dog Spike responded and went to the door, before an even louder knock became audible.

"TWILIGHT!!! The bus to Camp Everfree leaves in TEN MINUTES!!!" the voice of Rainbow Dash called out, startling and waking up Twilight, who quickly rushed to the door before packing her things.

"Nonono...I can't believe I overslept!!" Twilight stated in a panic. All six of her friends rushed in as well, looking about in Twilight's room, checking out the sort of things she kept within the confines of her bedroom.

"Me neither, that isn't like you." Sunset Shimmer replied to Twilight's earlier comment.

"I know." Twilight responded, as Rainbow Dash observed a hoodie that Twilight wore when Sunset Shimmer first encountered her, shortly prior to the Friendship Games.

Pinkie Pie approached Twilight's bed, and stated, "Don't you have a SUPER annoying alarm clock that goes ERR! ERR! ERR! ERR!" as she lifted up Twilight's pillow, revealing an alarm clock buzzing and jumping about, before being quickly turned off by Sunset.

"Don't worry, we'll help you pack." Sunset reassured Twilight as she placed a suitcase on her bed. Her friends all threw in their own items, none of which really applied to Twilight. Rarity, the school fashionista, pulled out a glimmering purple dress, which was worn by Twilight's Equestrian counterpart during Canterlot High's Fall Formal, during Sunset Shimmer's days as a villain. Applejack, a girl with a Southern accent, was confused as to why Rarity would pack such an item.

"Uh...we're gonna be out in the woods! When is she gonna need that?" Applejack stated to Rarity, stressing the fact that they would be camping, and that the dress was in danger of being ruined, which would normally terrify Rarity. However, she responded:

"If we were going to the MOON, I'd insist she packed an evening gown! One never knows, darling" she stated, as Twilight grabbed a T-Shirt that read 'Camp Everfree' on the front, and turned into a small room.

"Let me just get changed!" Twilight called out as she went in front of a mirror, holding the T-Shirt in front of her. Suddenly, Twilight's reflection sprouted a pair of wings, causing Twilight to reel back as a hauntingly familiar figure loomed above her, Twilight turned around, prompting the same reaction from all 7 girls.

"MIDNIGHT SPARKLE?!" they all called out, as the magic-crazed demon hovered in the middle of the room. Twilight had become Midnight Sparkle during the final events of the Friendship Games, as a result of pressure from her principal and her fellow team-mates, though she was sure Sunset Shimmer had defeated her.

"How is this possible?! Sunset Shimmer helped me defeat you at the Friendship Games!!" Twilight said in panic, as Midnight Sparkle sneered, and then spoke:

"You and your friends could NEVER truly defeat me!!" she yelled as she let out a maniacal cackle, as the wall behind her began to crumble away, exposing a dark purple and pink sky. Her friends stepped back, until they began to crumble as well. Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash screamed as they soon disappeared, then the same happened to Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, then finally to Spike and Sunset Shimmer. As Twilight stepped back against a mirror, Midnight Sparkle's cackle echoed behind her, then an arm reached out to grab Twilight from the mirror. Midnight Sparkle spoke out again as she pulled herself out of the mirror. "Midnight Sparkle is a part of you!"

The ground beneath Twilight's feet crumbled away, leaving her floating in the dark purple/pink sky that Midnight had exposed. "I'll always be there, waiting in the darkest shadows of your mind..."Midnight Sparkle soon approached behind Twilight, clasping her shoulders in her hands. "I'LL BE BACK TWILIGHT! And this time I won't stop until I have ALL the magic!!" Midnight Sparkle finished and leaned back, before pulling herself into Twilight's body, causing her to sprout wings and a horn. Twilight closed her eyes, covering her face with her arms as she screamed.

"No...STOP!!!!" Twilight yelled in terror,  before being awoken by Spike, revealing it was just a dream. Her friends all stared at her with bewildered and concerned expressions, before Pinkie Pie chimed in.

"We can't stop, silly. We aren't there yet!"
