An Interesting Experience
Shining Armor was pacing around the lobby of the maternity ward at the Ponyville hospital. Why was he at the Ponyville hospital? Because his sister, Twilight Sparkle was giving birth. And he was both happy, and mad.
"Shinning, dear, stop pacing, everything will be fine, everything went smoothly with Flurry Heart, remember?" his wife, Princess Cadence asked.
"Everything went smoothly? Everything did not go smoothly for you information! She was an alicorn! AN ALICORN! With a super cry that destroyed the Crystal Heart! Which also nearly destroyed the entire Crystal Empire! What if Twiliy gives birth to an alicorn too?! What if it destroys the world as we know it? What if she dies?!" Shinning Armor panicked.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine, you worry too much." Cadence said.
"Ah agree with Cadence, she'll be perfectly fine, besides, Fluttershy did fine giving birth to a pony-draconequus-hybrid, and if Fluttershy can do that, I'm pretty sure Twilight can handle an alicorn." Twilight's friend, Applejack said.
"Yeah! I'm sure that it'll be the best baby ever!" Timber's older sister, Gloriosa Daisy said.
"Yeah! And I made cupcakes for everypony!" Pinkie Pie, another one of Twilight's friends said.
"Yes, I know that you all don't want me to worry, but, I'M WORRYING!" Shining Armor yelled.
Just then, Twilight let out a scream that could be heard from the Crystal Empire.
"Twily!!"
A doctor walked into the lobby, upon seeing this, Shining Armor rushed up to him.
"Is my little sister okay?! Is she dead?! Do I need to pound that Timber Spruce?!" Shining Armor almost yelled.
"Don't worry, there will be no pounding going today, Twilight Sparkle has successfully given birth to three healthy baby alicorns, two girls and one boy." the doctor said.
"Three..." Shining started.
"...alicorns?" Cadence finished.
"Yes, three healthy baby alicorns."
"Oh. My. Celestia. This is even worse than Flurry Heart! Three of them, they're all alicorns?" Shining Armor asked.
"Yes."
"Oh my Celestia, when can we go see them?" Shining asked.
"It'll be a while, both parents really need rest, after all it has been Thirteen hours." the doctor answered.
"It has?"
"Yes, for them at least, I'm not sure when you got here."
"Well then, um. I guess we should all, uh, what should we do?" Shining Armor asked.
"Hey! How about we get some breakfast at Sugarcube Corner?!" Pinkie Pie suggested.
"While I would love to get some breakfast, I must go help Sweetie Belle get ready for a date, plus I have a ton of orders and deliveries to get through, but I will try to make time for lunch." Rarity, another one of Twilight's friends said.
"Yeah, and ah also have to uh, help Appleboom get ready for a date tonight. Plus I have work." Applejack said.
"Oh, yeah. And I promised Scoots that I'd give her tips on dating today." Rainbow Dash, another friend said.
"Oh, and, um, I have to take care of little " Fluttershy said.
"Oh, okay. Hey! Cadence, Shining Armor! You free?" Pinkie asked.
"We kinda wanna stay here, and wait to see how Twilight and Timber are doing." Cadence said.
"Oh, okay. Glorriosa?"
"Um, even though I have the upmost confidence in my brother and Twilight, I think I'll stay here, just in case." Glorriosa said.
"Um, okay. Spike?"
"I'm gonna go help AJ with stuff at the farm, sorry." Spike answered.
"Oh, okay, I'll go eat breakfast alone then." Pinkie said, her mane deflating a little as she walked off.
Twilight Sparkle looked at her three new children lovingly.
"Aww! They're so adorable!" Timber gushed.
"Yes, they are, but what are we gonna do about their magic? After all, they are three baby alicorns, and Flurry Heart did enough damage on her own." Twilight said.
"Aw, we don't have to worry about that right now, let's name the boy Timber jr.!" Timber said as he looked at the sleeping children.
"Timber, this serious, once they figure out that they can use magic, as weak as fly, they won't be so adorable anymore."
"I know, but can't we like put a magic guard-spell on them?" Timber asked.
"No, that would only work for unicorns, and besides, baby alicorns can practically break anything." Twilight reminded.
"Right, well, maybe we, or rather you, should teach them how to control their magic, even at a young age."
"Why only me?" Twilight asked.
"Ahem, do you not see the obvious lack of horn and wings?"
"Right, right. Sorry, I-I'm just a little tired." Twilight said sleepily.
"Oh, yeah, now that you think about it, I haven't gotten any sleep in over thirteen hours." Timber agreed.
Just then, one of the girls opened her eyes. They were forest green, to match her fathers. Her coat was a pinkish- orange color while she had little tufts of fuchsia and green for a mane. Her horn and wings matched the size of Flurry Heart's when she was first born.
"Aww, her wittle eyes match her daddy's!" Timber gushed.
Just then, a large spark came out of the alicorn's horn, shaking the room.
"Gah! You were right about that no-longer cute thing!" Timber said, startled.
"Well, then, aren't you a sparkly little one!" Twilight said as she tickled the infant a little.
"Gah! Keep her away! I don't want to get blasted by the pony sparkler!" Timber said as he slowly inched away from the baby.
"That's it! We'll call her Sparkler!" Twilight said.
"How can you possibly think about names when that thing almost killed us?!" Timber asked fearfully.
"Timber! Little Sparkler is not a thing, she is your daughter! I would think that you of all ponies would think that!" Twilight said, sounding appalled.
"I'm sorry Twi, I guess I should've taken the whole magic thing more seriously." Timber said, apologetically.
"Darn right ya should've." Twilight said as she stuck her tongue out.
The colt was the next to open his eyes. He had the same green eyes as Sparkler, but he had a darkish purple coat with a navy blue mane that had a fuchsia streak, and a green streak in it.
"Aw, he's just as adorable as Sparkler! I just he's not as deadly." Timber mumbled
This one, had only the wings the size of a pegasus, and a horn only the size of a unicorn's.
"Well, his wings and horn are smaller, so I think that this little guy won't be as deadly as Sparkler." Twilight said.
"I sure do hope so." Timber said.
"So, what should we name him?" Twilight asked.
"Hm, but I get to choose this time." Timber said.`
"Choose away, then."
"Hm, how about Pine?" Timber suggested.
"Huh, I like it! We'll name him Pine!" Twilight agreed.
"Yay! Pine it is!" Timber said excitedly.
The third, and smallest foal began to slowly open her eyes. Unlike her brother and sister, her eyes were a deep purple, like her mother's. She had a raspberry-colored mane with a purple streak through it, while her coat was a lightish green color.
"Aw, she's beautiful!" Twilight said.
"Yeah, but she looks a lot smaller than the others." Timber said.
"And what's wrong with that?"
"Well, it's just that you'd think the children of the mighty Timber Spruce and the wonderfully beautiful Twilight Sparkle would be anything but runts." Timber said.
"Why can't I be the mighty one? I didn't see you discover the Elements of Harmony, or defeat Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, Lord Tirek, Starlight Glimmer, who's next?"
"Yadda, yadda, yeah, yeah, you like to rub it in my face that I used to be a nobody compared you."
"No, I never said that, I just that I should be labeled as mighty instead of beautiful." Twilight said.
"Okay. So what should we name this one?" Timber asked.
"If it's alright, I'd like to have a go at this." Princess Luna said as she walked into the room.
"Princess Luna! What are you doing here? -Er, your highness." Timber said as he bowed.
"No need for that, you are but a prince, Timber Spruce, you shouldn't have to bow to you equal!" Luna said.
"Right, I keep forgetting that."
"Anyhow, as Co-ruler, and all-powerful being, it is my job to visit as many newborns as possible, and name at least one." Luna explained.
"Ah, well you came just in time, Luna, we were just about to name our last triplet." Twilight said.
"I see, she's small for a newborn pony." Luna observed.
"Yeah, I guess, but she's very precious." Twilight said.
"That she is indeed, she reminds me of back when I was learning how to control the aurora borealis, ah, good times. Wait. That's it! Aurora! That should be her name!" Luna said.
"Aurora, I like it. I agree, we should name her Aurora." Timber said.
"Aurora shall be her name, and if 'tis okay with you, I'd like to take her under my wing as heir to the night, I won't corrupt her or anything, but I have need of an apprentice, for I am in need of rest, and I would like to retire soon."
"Yes, you can take her as your apprentice, but only when she's fourteen, I don't want her to be learning any dangerous magic until she's old enough." Twilight said.
"Don't worry, she'll be fine, I mean, she does have you as a mother." Timber said.
"Ah, this child is destined for greatness, destined for greatness." Luna said as she looked into the curious foal's eyes.
