Twilight and Her Book Pile

Pile of Books

It was a normal afternoon in Ponyville. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and every pony was having a glorious day.

Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, dwelled in her castle, as she looked down onto the paper with words written on it. She was reading, the activity she loved to do the most in her spare time.

"Finished!" she happily declared in a sing-song voice, returning the book to its original place onto one of the many, many bookshelves. Although she had enjoyed her last publishment of literature, things would get quite boring when she had read almost every single one. It was completing the impossible, due to the amount of countless books in her shelves.

"I've read all of these," she sighed, running a hoof all over the row of hardcovers. "Guess I'll have to look someplace else."

And with that she did.

After spending time searching for an untouched bookshelf in the castle, Twilight could finally point out a door she had not gone through yet. She figured she had missed it, it was in the back of the castle, after all.

To her surprise, there was only one shelf inside.

"Ugh," she groaned. "Well, at least I've got some- ah!"

Twilight suddenly jumped back to find the hundreds books crashing down to the floor, creating a pile of them onto the floor. Thankfully, none of them were damaged, to her relief.

This, of course, was a dream come true of her.

She rushed over to the pile, grinning widely as her eyes darted between the new volumes. It was hard to say which one she wanted to read first.

"Oh, there's so many!" she exclaimed. "I don't know which one to choose first!"

Evuentully, she had narrowed her choices down to Equestria and You. She needed a little non-fiction after hours of reading fantasy.

As excitement was the only thing she could feel, she flipped open to the first page.

Equestria y tú: capítulo uno: los tiempos oscuros

She slowly closed the book, very disappointed.

"Twilight!" Spike yelled, near the opened door. "Where have you-" he stopped, surprised from Twilight's blank expression. She was staring into space.

"Spike," she whispered in a monotone voice. "Come here."

He followed the alicorn's orders. "What is it?" He asked.

Twilight pushed the book she was reading over to the purple dragon. Then, added gravely:

"This book is in Spanish."

"S-so?" Spike thought this was absolutely ridiculous. It was just a book!

Twilight repeated herself. "This book."

She turned to Spike, wide-eyed.

"Is in."

Spike backed away towards the door.

"Spanish."

"Yeah," Spike told her, nervously. "I'm...gonna leave now." He walked away, exiting the room.

Twilight grabbed not another book, but some paper and a quill dipped in ink. She decided to file a complaint to the Princess."

Dear Princess Celesta,

I am writing to you on a very serious matter. I have received one of my books in a foreign language, which I do not understand why. Please figure out how this crisis can be averted.

Your fellow princess,

Twilight Sparkle

Wait a minute, she thought to herself. This is the box's fault! I'll give it a piece of my mind!

Trotting down the stairs leading to the Tree of Harmony, Twilight was determined to find the box and show it her anger. It was the box's fault that she had given her a Spainish book, since it was the one to give her the castle.

She had made it to the box after a few steps, its locks still empty, not holding the six keys anymore. Regardless, Twilight was still angry.

"Listen up, box," Twilight began her rant. "DO YOU MIND TELLING ME WHY I-"

Suddenly, the Tree of Harmony started to glow a bright white, nearly blinding her.

"Twilight Sparkle," it seemed to be speaking to her. "I demand you to state your purpose of being here!"

"I...uh.." Twilight grew nervous. "Well, you see-"

"ENOUGH!" The Tree boomed. "We- I mean, um, I've got something to say."

"Wait just a minute!" Twilight raised a brow suspiciously. She looked behind the tree, only to reveal...Luna?

"Ah, Ha!" Twilight yelled, pointing a hoof at Luna. "Why did you hide behind here, Luna?"

"We've taken notice of your letter," Luna stated. "And Celestia has sent me here to tell you a valuable lesson of hers."

"To..." Twilight asked curiously. "Express your own feelings, even if they seem silly?"

"No."

"What was it, then?"

Luna paused.

"Stop overreacting." She flashed away, back to Canterlot.

Only leaving a suprised Twilight behind.

"Spike, I'm back," Twilight yelled across the castle. "Where's that book?"

"Here," Spike walked up to her, with the book in his claws. "You left, so, I kept it in case you needed it again."

"Thanks, Spike."

"So, are you gonna finish it?"

"No."

Twilight lifted the book into the air using levitation.

"Spike."

"Yeah?"

"Burn the book."

"T-twilight, are you su-"

"JUST BURN IT!"

Spike hissed out a small amount of green flames from his mouth, while the book turned into nothing but black ash. Twilight smiled.

"Twilight," Spike sounded nervous. "Are you alright?"

"Fine, Spike. Just go to bed." Spike ran off.

Twilight levitated the pieces of sacred ash, and scattered them into the air, until they disappeared into nothingness. Satisfied, she giggled.

"What a great book that was," she then happily went to bed.
