//-------------------------------------------------------// Sweetie Belle Saves The World (With Princess Luna, Maud, and Discord) -by IndigoMoon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Maud //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Maud The next morning, the Friendship Express pulled into Canterlot Station, stopping with a lurch. As Sweetie Belle got off the train, getting more than a couple strange looks at a filly stepping onto the platform without a parent or guardian. She looked around as the train pulled away, spotting her name on a sign sticking over a crowd of ponies. As she pushed her way through the crowd, she began to wonder who was holding the sign. Lost in thought, she didn't notice the pony in front of her until she got a face-full of tealish-gray fabric. As she backpedaled, she realized who one of the other party members that Princess Luna mentioned was. "Maud!?" "Hello Sweetie Belle," said Maud, in her signature monotone. {------} ` As the unlikely pair wandered through Canterlot towards the castle, Sweetie Belle looked over at Maud. "Sooo..... Princess Luna summoned you here too?" she asked. "Yes. I've been told it's a big honor," Maud droned. "No offense or anything, but you don't seem very honored. Honestly, you sound more bored than anything," said Sweetie. "No offense taken. I don't really show my emotions well, at least not visually or verbally," Maud replied. "The only pony to ever know how I felt that wasn't family was when your sister Rarity accidentally started to read my diary while we spelunking." "Oh! Rarity told me about that. Apparently you are really good at conveying your emotions through writing. She seemed honored that you let her continue to read." "Well, she seemed uncomfortable by my "permanent poker face", as Pinkie phrases it. So I let her read it so she would actually know what I was feeling during our adventure together." "That was nice of you," said Sweetie Belle. "Thank you," replied Maud. {------} When they arrived at the castle, they were let into the throne room, no questions asked, just like Princess Luna promised. When they walked in, two people were waiting for them, Princess Luna and... "YOU!" growled Discord, who was nose-to-nose with Maud in anger. "Oh. Hello, Discord," replied Maud, expressionless despite the fact she had an angry chaos god in her face. "You two know each other?" asked Princess Luna, mildly confused. "Unfortunately, yes," replied Discord, scowling. "I became aware of her existence after she insulted me at the Grand Galloping Gala two years back." "Oh, I remember that," said Sweetie Belle. "It was an... interesting Gala." "Oh, hello, Sweetie Belle! I'm so sorry for not noticing you earlier, I was too busy being mad at her," said Discord, giving Sweetie Belle a giant hug, who gladly returned. "Does everypony here know each other?" asked Princess Luna, who at this point was extremely confused. "Sure! Discord's an honorary Cutie Mark Crusader," said Sweetie Belle. "He is?" "Yes! Now, now Luna, don't sound surprised! I actually helped Sweetie Belle here and her friends earn their Cutie Marks, or at least try to," said Discord. "Ok..." said Luna, shaking herself out of her stupor. "Since it seems that introductions aren't necessary, time to get to the point. We have a national emergency on our hooves. It seems that once again, someone has escaped Tartarus." "Who is it this time, so we can get this over with? Tirek?" laughed Discord. Luna, however didn't laugh. "Yes." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4... No, wait a minute... 3: The Quartet of Plot Conviences //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4... No, wait a minute... 3: The Quartet of Plot Conviences A shocked silence filled the room. "oh." Discord's voice sounded small. Both he and Sweetie Belle looked like they had been told that the world was going to end tomorrow, which was a very real possibility as far as they knew. Princess Luna looked grim. Maud looked like... well, Maud. Luna looked at Maud. "You do realize how serious this is, right, Miss Pie?" She said as she gestured to Maud's bored look. "Yes, I do, Princess. In fact, I'm absolutely terrified." Luna began to speak, "Bu-" "Don't ask," said Sweetie. "That's not important. What's important is what Tirek escaping has to do with us, specifically. Like, why are we here. Why not Princess Celestia? Wait, does Princess Celestia even know?" "I'm going to have to agree with Sweetie Belle. Why are we so special in this situation? Why not call Twilight and the girls. I'm sure King Thorax wouldn't mind," said Discord. "Because I need you three, but Sweetie Belle most of all." "ME?!?!?!" cried Sweetie Belle. "Do remember what I said to you last night, when I came to visit you in your dream?" "Something like, 'The mind of a young pony is bursting with imagination.' or something like that. But that still doesn't explain anything," replied Sweetie Belle. "Allow me to elaborate: While Tirek may have escaped it was only yesterday so he is still very weak. But we can't use magic to capture him so we will need to be more creative in how we catch him," explained Luna. *SNAP!* "And nothing made purely from chaos magic, Discord. He can use that, so put away your flying pigs." Discord sighed and rolled his eyes. "Fine. But how did you know he escaped if it only happened yesterday?" *SNAP!* In a flash of light, the pigs were gone. "I went to taunt him, like I've done every Tuesday since we put him back in there," replied Luna, smiling slightly. "Excuse me." Maud had been silent up until this point. "Where do I come into play in all this?" "I was just about to explain," said Luna, grateful Maud got the conversation back on track. "As I said earlier, we'll need to be more creative in how we capture Tirek so that is why I have summoned Sweetie and Discord here, not to mention Discord can gain access to many items that may be otherwise inaccessible. Now, Maud, you are here because you are sisters with Pinkie Pie and have lived with her shenanigans for many years, so that might be of some inspiration for you, but it's mainly because you have quite the imagination of your own. Granted, it might be mostly rock-based but I get the feeling that might come in handy. Now, I suggest that Sweetie Belle be leader of our little band, seeing as how she has the most non-chaos-magic-based imagination. Plus, I just finished re-reading "Lord of the Horseshoe and a small pony was the leader, so yeah." "What!? But I'm just a filly! And besides, Princess Luna, shouldn't you be in charge? You are a princess." Discord, Maud, and Luna all looked at each other. "Yes, but Discord and I have already been prominent figures who have saved the world, and we rarely see you or Maud as the main characters, and Maud doesn't like to be in charge. That's usually Limestone Pie's job." "Oh. Ok. Wait... did you say main characters? Like in a story?" asked Sweetie Belle. Luna and Discord looked at each other nervously. "Umm... it was a... uh..." stammered Discord. "T'WAS A METAPHOR! Yes, a metaphor!" cried Luna hastily, slipping into her Royal Canterlot Voice out of nervous. Sweetie Belle shrugged. "Alright then. Strange metaphor but makes sense I guess. Where are we going?" Luna turned to the draconequus of chaos, "Discord, would you mind taking us to Manehatten?" "Fine, but I'm not a taxi service, you know," grumbled Discord. "Hey, you owe me after the 'Accord Incident'." "Sheesh. Not pulling any punches are you, Luna?" Luna smirked. "Nope. Now... to Manehatten!!!" *SNAP!* //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Rubber Ducks, Cake, Socks, and a Glass of Water //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Rubber Ducks, Cake, Socks, and a Glass of Water As Tirek shuffled along the alley, he felt someone tap him on the shoulder. As he pulled his hood down to consume the magic of the poor sap who bothered him, he saw someone he once used, recently too. But knowing him, he probably forgot, so Tirek thought he could use him again. "Hello, Discord," crooned Tirek. Discord, not seeming to notice, pulled a microphone out of thin air and tapped it. "Check, check. Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3." "What are you doing?" asked Tirek. "Putting on a show, of course," said Discord, his voice magnified by invisible speakers, grinning madly all the while. Then, much to Tirek's surprise, and chagrin, Discord began to sing. "A little glass of water, please. A fresh-pressed hankie if I sneeze. Some tea with honey from the bees, whenever you can brew it!" "What." "And while a get a little rest, a teeny, tiny, small request: some codfish oil for my chest, poured from a crystal cruet!" "A crystal cruet?" asked Tirek. But while Discord was singing, he failed to notice the two mismatched socks placed over the stubs of his horns on his head, both labelled: Pinkie Pie's Magic-Cancelling Socks. Nor did he notice the rubber ducks strewn on the ground around his hooves, nor the cake suspended above his head by a fishing rod currently being ponyed by Maud while Princess Luna and Sweetie Belle magically placed the ducks down around him. "When do I drop the cake?" asked Maud monotonously. "Wait for the signal..." said Luna. "What's the signal?" asked Sweetie Belle. Luna shrugged. "He said we'd know it when we see it." "SO.... WHO'S READY FOR MY BIG REPRISE!?!?! I'd like that glass of water please, some magic spell to cure disease, a firm "gesundhoof" when I sneeze, a fresh bouquet of roses. Some lozenges will soon apease my wheezing when I start to sneeze, a wig to keep me from the breeze, some blankets for my toes-es. Take tweezers out of my valise and then massage my knobby knees. A bowl of peas, some extra cheese, a cuddle with a Pekingese. A sining harp that's named Louise, a goat on skis, a new trapeze, and more, and more, and more, and more of theeeeeeeeeese! And just because I oughta, make sure I'm drinking in the right amount of fluids, day and night, I wish I may, I wish I might have just one, little thing, oh, would somebody please, finally bring me that tiny glass of wateeeeeeee-" "NOW!" cried Luna. Maud let the cake drop. As the cake splatted on Tirek's head, he stumbled around, slipping and slding on the rubber ducks and water that appeared from Discord, the anti-magic socks remained fast atop his head, preventing him from abosrbing any of the magic present. "-eeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!" Discord finished his song, and immediately began lauging at the sight of Tirek covered in cake, slipping on rubber ducks and water, all with two mis-matched atop his head. Tirek, however, didn't find the situation funny in the slightest. In fact, he was absolutely livid. "DISCORD!!!!" he screamed. Discord remained unfazed, angering Tirek even more. "Yes?" he asked. "WHAT IS ALL THIS?!? IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL A JOKE? REVENGE? IS THAT WHY?" "I don't know what you're talking about," replied Discord indignantly. "I'm just doing my part to protect the well-being of Equestria and all its citizens." Tirek growled, "This isn't the last you've heard of me, Discord. I will have my revenge and my magic." "Oh, heavens, I would hope not. After that performance by me and my friends, I can't wait until our next encounter!" "Your... what? Friends? Not those stupid six ponies again. I can't stand them." Discord's grin only widenend. "Nope! These friends!" *SNAP!* And with a snap of his fingers, Sweetie Belle, Luna and Maud appeared, the first two laughing at Tirek while holding rubber ducks in their magic, and the latter with a fishing rod in her hooves, and a small, almost unnoticeable smile. "How DARE you mock me!" yelled Tirek. Luna and Sweetie Belle looked at Tirek, and tried to keep themselves from laughing. They failed most spectacularly. Tirek began growling in anger. Sweetie Belle looked over at Princess Luna, tears streaming down her face, "It's so hard to take him seriously with cake running down his face! And I keep remembering him tripping over the rubber ducks we layed out!" Luna nodded in agreement, chuckling. "Yes, it was most amusing. I didn't know Discord could sing so well, though." Discord bowed. 'Yes, it is a hidden talent of mine," he said. "Though, I must say, Maud here drop the cake at the perfect moment. Tirek was about to leave!" He busted out laughing again. Tirek was watching all of this, and was fuming. "I'm leaving. This is making me sick." As he stomped off, Sweetie Belle called out, "We hope you enjoyed your stay! Come back soon!" As Tirek roared in anger, Sweetie's comment had generated another round of laughter. "How are we going to find him again?" asked Luna between laughs. Discord chuckled, "The cake had a tracing device on it, which latched onto his head." Sweetie Belle after calming down, suddenly began laughing again. "Sweetie Belle, while it's still funny, I wouldn't say it's that funny anymore." Sweetie Belle took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but was still giggling. "No, I know," she explained. "It's just that *snort* Tirek is still wearing the anti-magic socks on his head!" As the grouped descended into laughter again, Luna managed to call out, "Back to Canterlot!" *SNAP!* //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Dreamscape Request //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Dreamscape Request Sweetie Belle woke up in the Crusader clubhouse. As she didn't remember falling asleep in the clubhouse she walked over to the window to look outside and see what time it was. As she looked outside, she noticed the outside was space-y and slowly spinning, maybe. It was hard to tell about the spinning. 'Wait a minute,' she thought. "I know this place!" she exclaimed. "Princess Luna!" she called. As if on cue, and it probably was, the door opened, revealing the Princess of the Night. "Hello, Sweetie Belle. I apologize for interrupting your slumbers, but I have an important favor to ask of you. I need you to meet me in Canterlot tomorrow morning. It is a matter of great importance." Sweetie Belle was confused. "Why don't you ask Rarity and the girls?" "Normally, that duty would fall to my sister, but even so, do you recall that Rarity and her friends are with Celestia in the Changeling kingdom to help with the relations, remember." "Oh. Right. But why me? Why not Trixie at least?" Luna smirked, "Who said I didn't summon Trixie?" "Did you?" "Well, no. But that's not the point. The point is that the mind of a young pony, such as yourself, is bursting with imagination. When you arrive in Canterlot, there will be somepony you know holding a sign with your name on it. Then if the two of you would please make haste for the castle. Upon arriving to the castle, please head for the main throne room. The guards will have standing orders not to interfere with you and your companion, so long as you make straight for the throne room, and the be the only room you enter (bathrooms excluded of course). I hope to see you then, but for now Sweetie Belle, I must leave you. I have other duties to perform, including informing the last member of the party of tomorrow. So until then, sleep well Sweetie Belle. See you tomorrow." "Good night, Princess Luna!" said Sweetie Belle. Then everything faded to black. Author's Note Just a fun little idea that throws some of my all-time favorite characters into a bowl and mixing them together. I think you'll like what I have in store for our other two party members. https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightsmile.png
