They don't know, the two most powerful beings in all of Equestria DONT KNOW!!! "We don't know because of the Nightmare Crystal. It's dark power counteracts our own. We cannot locate the three gems. If we can't soon though," Celestia said as she nearly choked on her own words, "Then Darkness will take over, and a dark nightmare form will reign over the body of those that lost their memories, just like Luna has once experienced." Luna shuddered at the old, painful, scarring memories. "Before thou's interfearence though," Luna said, "We caught a small trace of the gems before they disapeared from our visions. Thou each were in a specific place, but there were two signals for each gem, Thy sister and I cannot explain our visions, but each were in the ruins of the three great pony civilizations. Pegasopolis, Unicornia, and Earth (NO NOT THAT EARTH, THE ONE IN THE HEARTHS WARMING EVE EPISODE!!!). The other signals were located in other places thy cannot understand, but they were in Cloudsdale's Wonderbolt HQ, The Dragon Volcano, and the last location is the one we cannot detect." "Well, I say we go now before we're all evil and end up activating worst case secenarios" Dusk remarked. And, of course, a worse case scenario happens, thr ground shook opening a hole in the library allowing ANOTHER nightmare crystal to rise. This nightmare crystal shot dark lightning at four targets this time, Dusk, Rainbow, Twilight, and Luna. Shining Armor, was first to react, he threw his knife that was clipped to his belt at the lightning aiming at all 4 bolts. The knife was inaffective, it shattered while touching the lightning. The liughtning from this one worsened the affects, mainly for Luna. The effects on the two pegasi were bad though, their coats were darkened and their wings started to lose feathers, making flying alot harder than it should. The effect on Twilight was not AS bad, but still pretty bad, like the other's, her coat darkened and her magic started acting randomly, tirin g her quickly, allowing her to use basic spells ONLY, for atleast 2 days. And Luna, oh dear Celestia the effects on Luna! Gasps from several ponies were made, for Luna was split into two, one was regular Luna, the other was (wait for it! >w<) Nightmare Moon! Nightmare stood over the 4 collapsed ponies and sent each of them across the room with a simple wind spell. "Well, I certain never expected to be released again, especially sperated from my counterpart" she stated. "What did you do to Princess Luna!?" Shining Armor asked. "Oh I did nothing, I'd blame your friends for bringing the Nightmare Crystal here. You see, the Nightmare Crystal appears to worsen affects and if someone with cured effects or dormant effects is there, they got shocked too and the cured become diseased and split. So you have a good Luna, and me" Nightmare replied, "OH don't worry, I won't make it ETERNAL night, 'm going to make it so your friends become prisoners of the Nightmare Crystal's effects and become the most powerful beings, IN ALL OF EQUESTRIA! More powerful than Luna, Celesta, and all of you combined!!! Not even Chrysalis can stop them!" Nightmare then turnbed into a purple wift of smoke and flew off, leaving a cold chill in the air. "T-They did this?" Shining Armor said shocked, "Twilight would never..." "Hey, where's the Nightmare Crystal?" Pinkie asked, causing everyone to turn to where it once was. "We have to get to Canterlot to prepare for this," Celestia finally said, "If Nightmare Moon has the crystal then her power is increased ten fold." Celestia, along with the help of Shining Armor and Cadence, transported everypony to Canterlot.

The first thing they did when they got to Canterlot was put up the shield again, without Chrysalis invading, there was almost no way for the shild to break. Dusk woke up last, surprised by the change of location. "Wha, hey where am I?" he asked. "You're in Canterlot," Cadence told him, "And as to the coming question of WHY you're here, you have to prepare for what's to come. Follow me, and don't use your wings." "Okay? I don't remember how to fly anyway" Dusk simply replied. Dusk followed Cadence to what appeared to be a training grounds for the royal guard. "Uhh, where is-" "You'll each have a specific training grounds depending on your skills, it's a tougher situation for you and Rainbow but we're working on something" Cadence stated. At the same time of the training, the others were making an important desicion. Who will go on the jorney with them, the journey will consist of four ponies, one will need to acompany the three. "I told you Shining Armor, I'M THE ONE GOING!!!" Freezin yelled. "Not a chance! You don't have proper royal guard training, nor have connections to any ONE of the ponies traveling! I'm Twilight's brother for Celestia's sake!!!" Shining Armor retaliated. "Dusk may have parents, but they threw him away like he was nothing! I'm as close to a brother as he can get! Rainbow and I are pretty much good friends and Twilight IS my best friend! I won't let her go through this alone!" Freezin stated in an angry tone. Before Shining Armor could say something else, Applejack interupted, saying, "Why that's enough outta the two of ya! Why not let the group decide! I mean it's their journey anyway!" The group was about to settle it but Freezin simply exited before going balistic to ANYONE, he wouldnt want to have about 4 frozen ponies on his hands, if not more. He went to go check on Twilight who was currently training with Celestia and Luna. Well, Luna anyway.

"AAAARGH!!! WHERE IS IT?!" Celestia screamed out in frustration. It's a good thing that the room was sound proof. "Hey, need help?" Freezin said, standing in the doorway after hearing the sudden outburst. 'Oh uhmm... Yes, I need help" she said slightly blushing, still mortified someone actually heard her. "What book are we looking for?" Freezin asked. "The book of Old and Lost Enchantments, the pages are blank to those not strong enough to see them. Usually those who can see it are linked some way or another, whether it be love, friendship, rank, and lots of other ways" Celestia said/explained, "It's also said that some people can easily find the book by a mystical spark of some sort and that this skill is passed n from generation to generation. I used to be able to see the spark but I lost that gift, I guessed Luna has this gift now." "Spark? you mean like that?" Freezin asked pointing to a specific bookshelf, "It's sparkling to me. Twilight had this book too this morning." "Then you must be connected somehow, but I'm prety sure your not famliy or in ranks in some way" Celestia said with a small smile. "I guess we are c- HEY WAIT A SECOND?!" Freezin said with a light blush, "Are you implying that I have a crush on Twilight?!" "No, but you just told me. I never said you did" Celestia replied. Freezin sighed and pulled out the book with his magic, "Let's just get this over with before I embarass myself more." "I'm willing to keep it a secret Freezin" Celestia said, "I promise you that." "Thanks. Oh, and here's the book, I'm hoping you can still read it" Freeezin said. "I can still read it, I know that" she said as she flipped through the spell book, "Now whice- Aha! There it is! Enchantment of Wing Restoration, restore the wing power of a pegasus for one week, after that their wings will return to normal." "We have to get it to Rainbow and Dusk" Freezin stated about to bolt out the door. "Do you want to learn the spell first Freezin?" Celestia asked causing Freezin to stop in his tracks. "Yeah that might help..."

Dusk and Rainbow kinda ditched training so now we have Cadence and Rainbow's trainers looking for them. Rainbow's trainers, Soarin and Spitfire, are looking with Dusk's Trainers, Cadence and Fire Streak (another wonderbolt), to find the Pegasi. They did learn how to fly again, with much dificulty though, the feathers being shed from their wings make it alot harder to fly. So they camped out in the one place they knew noone would look for them in, the library. Even with memory loss, they hated books. They only came in AFTER Freezin and Celestia left though. Both panting and covered in sweat at the effort of flying, they decided to actually look around the library after a few minutes of just plain running around it thinking someone was their. "Books, books, more books. I say there are WAY too many books here" Rainbow stated. "Might be something we like here, something with adventure maybe?" Dusk asked while looking through a random section of books. "Sure, why not, not like we'll like it or anything" Rainbow stated with someplete boredom in her voice. After a few minutesof looking for anything intresting Dusk finds a book Rainbow may like. "Found something" he clearly stated. "Just hand the book over so I can throw it into the pile" Rainbow said. Dusk hands Rainbow the book so she can look at the cover, and after quick judgement, she put the book on the table. "For once, we can get rid of our boredom. This book looks intresting." "Did you read the title Rainbow?" "Uhh no..." "Read it." Rainbow reads over it and then stares blankly at it as if she has seen it before but can't remember it, the title was DARING DOO AND THE SAPHIRE STONE. "Can't place my hoove on it but I think-" We've seen this before Rainbow, I know it. I just can't remember when." They just opened the book and started to read it to see if they can pass the time and or remember anything. When they can't they just closed the book and turned towards the exit, leaving it on the table. While exiting, the purple smoke makes an appearance and forms the shape of Nightmare Moon in front of the two ponies. The smoke then transformed into Nightmare Moon. "Who are you? Didn't we see you earlier?" The two asked. "I am Nightmare Moon! And seeing how you two like adventures, how about I send the villians after you!?" She said, shooting a magic bolt at the book, allowing Ahuitzotl, the main villian of the book, to roam out of it. "Don't worry, it's just an clone basically, so it can only hurt you" Nightmare told the two pegasi, "And just to help you, you can destroy him by touching the book, I have to give you a chance now, don't I!" She said, laughing into the air. "Why you little..." Dusk threatened as he jumped at the alicorn, who easily kicked him aside, sending him into the pile of books. "I'm off, I have to go prepare for your first trip!" Nightmare told the pegasus as she turned into smoke and went out the door, locking it from the outside. Ahuitzotl stared angrily at Rainbow Dash, which reminded him of Daring Do. Rainbow Dash just stood there, a hard look of determination on her face. She instantly charged, head on, at Ahuitzotl, which was just plain reckless. Ahuitzotl just threw Rainbow aside like she was nothing, and of course, she landed next to an unconcious Dusk Heart. "Not, Cool" Rainbow said in pain. "Well this is just plain easy, give me a challenge at least" Ahuitzotl said, walking up to Rainbow Dash. Dusk was slipping in and out of conciousness. When Ahuitzotl wass just in front of Rainbow, he whispered one word, "Jump." Rainbow, seeing what he meant, jumped up tackling Ahuitzotl onto the book, turning his body into smoke and fading away. "Darn, that Nightmare Moon is brutal..." Rainbow stated. As she dragged Dusk out of the books and back to their trainers.
