“I still don’t see why we had to come here.”, said Mythic Scroll, as she walked alongside her two friends, Mint Cinnamon and Snow Shimmer, through the department store. The three had come to Manehattan for a Daring Do convention, but Mint Cinnamon had a few errands to run.
“Well, there really isn’t anywhere in Ponyville to get computer supplies.”, said the green earth pony.” “But, couldn’t we have come here after the convention?”, inquired Mythic Scroll. Mint Cinnamon then said, “They’re having a special sale for today only. The more money I save here, the more I will have for the convention.”
“Lighten up.”, said Snow Shimmer. “We don’t get to come out here very often. Why don’t you just look around? The biggest store we have in Ponyville is Quills and Sofas.” “You go on ahead.”, said Mythic Scroll. “I’ll just wait. I don’t wanna waste any more time here than we need to. I want to get back there so I can attend AK Yearling’s panel.” “We’ll have plenty of time.”, added Mint Cinnamon. “The store closes an hour before the panel starts.”
Mint Cinnamon took her time looking through the electronics section, while Snow Shimmer explored the store. After a while, Mint Cinnamon had returned with the items she need, right as the a female voice said, “Attention shoppers, the store will close in five minutes. Repeat: The store will close in five minutes. Please take all purchases up to the cash register and check out now.”
“Do you know where Snow Shimmer went off to?”, Mint Cinnamon inquired. “I don’t know.”, said Mythic Scroll. “She just went off.” The two ponies kept calling out their friend's name as they trotted around the store. Eventually they found her. “Hey guys.”, she said. “Look at these neat snow shoes I found.”, she then showed her friends the four black shoes in the box. Then, the lights in the store had all turned off.
Mythic Scroll galloped over to the entrance of the store. The doors were remained shut as she approached them. She frantically knocked on them and shouted, “Letmeoutletmeoutletmeout!” “Calm down.”, said Snow Shimmer as Mythic Scroll ran the other direction. The red unicorn then knocked on several office doors to see if any employees were in, but she still had no luck.
Mythic Scroll then laid flat on the ground in defeat. She then lifted her head and said, “Well, at least the store opens at around nine, so that gives us time to do some shopping in the vendor area and attend the fanfiction panel.”
“Um...”, Mint Cinnamon began. “The store doesn’t open until noon on Sundays.” “WHAT?!”, shouted Mythic Scroll as she fell flat on the floor again. “I told you we should have been quicker.”, she said. No, I told you we should have waited until after the convention. Now look where are! We’re locked in here, and we’re gonna miss everything thanks to you guys!” Mint Cinnamon retaliated by saying “It’s not like either of us wanted this either, you spoiled Canterlot brat!” With that, Mythic Scroll said “I don’t have to take any of this.”, and split from the others.
Mythic Scroll sat down in the book aisle. Her anger had now turned to sadness as she began to cry. Not only would she miss the entire Daring Do convention, but she was feeling guilty about the way she had treated her friends. They were her friends, and they did not mean for this to happen, so they didn’t deserve to be treated like that. Maybe she was right. Maybe I am just some “spoiled Canterlot brat”, she thought.
Mythic Scroll saw then saw her friends standing in front of her. Mint cinnamon was holding a towel and Snow Shimmer had a chocolate bar in her hoof. It was the kind with airloles in tthe center, Mythic Scroll’s favorite.
Mythic Scroll took the towel and wiped her eyes and blew her nose. She then used a magic spell to clean it. “I really don’t deserve you guys”, said Mythic Scroll. “I’m really sorry for lashing out at you.” “Don’t worry.”, said Mint Cinnamon. “You were right. It was our fault that we’re in this mess. We’re sorry.”
“Thanks you guys.”, she said as the three formed a group hug. After they released each other, Mythic Scroll opened the chocolate bar and splitting it into three so they all could have some. After they finished the candy, Mythic Scroll threw the wrapper away and put the towel back in the bath aisle.
“Come on.”, Mint Cinnamon said. There should be some beds right over there.” Mythic Scroll replied, “Actually, I can’t sleep without any plushies.” “Hmm... Snow Shimmer, did you see any plushies when you were in the toy aisle?”, asked Mint Cinnamon. “Nope.”, said Snow Shimmer, as she shook her head. “You guys go on without me.”, Mythic Scroll said. “I’ll be fine.” “You sure?”, asked Snow Shimmer. The red unicorn smiled and nodded.
As the other two made their way to the beds, they stopped at one of the pillow aisles, noticing something. Mint Cinnamon said, “Mythic, you might want to see this.” Mythic Scroll went along until she reached the pillow aisle. Apparently the pillow looked like a large Daring Do plush. “So I guess you can sleep after all.”, Snow Shimmer remarked. Then, Mythic Scroll grabbed the pillow with her magic and the three friends made their way over to the bed section. They each got into a different bed and, and they all slept soundly.
The following morning, all three ponies had woken up after sleeping in somewhat late. When the store finally opened the three mares had taken their items up the the front counter to purchase them. After leaving the store, they went back to the hotel to grab their personal items and check out of the hotel.
