Sunset Shimmer returns from her self-imposed exile to find that the world has changed abruptly. If she wants to reconcile with the pony who means the most to her, she'll have to travel to the ends of Equestria. But she won't have to do it alone.

And sing for us
So that we may remember
Sunset Shimmer and her friends have graduated from Canterlot High. The future looks bright- or it would, if Sunset could figure out what it is she intends to do with it.
But her life has to be put on hold, because she's summoned to Equestria by Twilight. Something's happened that requires Sunset's help. So she enters the portal… and finds a radically different world. Now she's thrown headlong into a quest to find something very important- a quest which may not have a happy ending. And what she learns about her destiny will change things forever.
In retrospect, it would have been easier if she hadn't kidnapped a princess in the process…
