Splatoon

Sophia couldn't sleep all night.  She kept thinking about James and wondering where he could be in inkopolis. She got up and went for a run to help get her mind off of it.  She then started thinking of how they had met.  She had been walking through inkopolis one day, having a good day, and wanted to go to the store, so she took a shortcut through an alley.  She was walking through when she kicked a can and heard a gasp.  She looked up to see something standing there.  She got a look at it and it obviously wasn't an inkling, but it wasn't an octarian either.  Whatever it was looked very frightened, and she could tell was bleeding.  She wanted to walk towards it and help.  As she started to it tried to run, but ended up falling due to injuries.  She then thought should I let this thing die, but thought about how she would have felt if the sisters had left her, and she then went up to it and picked it up and ran towards the studio.

James on the other hand had slept through the night mostly okay.  He woke up in the morning and his stomach hurt.

"Spyke" James yelled.

Spyke came in "what you need,"

"My stomach hurts," James said

"You probably need some more medicine.  Stay here while I get some," spyke said.

He came back a couple minutes later with the syringe and gave the injection to James.

"Come on kiddo, we have a lot of pockets to pick today," spyke said

"Coming," James said.

They then left the sewer lair and went to the surface to start picking pockets.  James was getting a good run and so far he had gotten a wallet, credit card, and stolen some gear.  It was going good till he tried to pickpocket a blue inkling boy but the boy noticed him and gave chase to James.  James started running through the crowd shoving people as he went to get away, but the boy stayed on him.  James then let the boy get a little bet closer, stopped turned around and punched him in the face causing him to fall.  He then used the distraction to run into the alley.  He then met back up with spyke.

"How did you do kid?" Spyke asked

"Pretty good I got a couple wallets, a credit card, and some gear off of people.  One boy saw me, but I took care of him," James said.

"Nice job kid, but we better get out of here before anybody see us," Spyke said.

Right after James left the surface Sophia came by to see what had happend to the boy.

"What did he look like?" Sophia asked.

"I don't know, but he definetly was not an inkling that's for sure," the boy said.

Sophia was walking to Judd's place as he said he had some information on where James was.  She got there and asked

"Do you know where James is?"

"Yes I do," juud said.

"Where then?" Sophias asked

"I asked a friend of a friend and apparently your friend is with spyke," Judd said.

" well, crap," Sophia said.

" spyke is not very good.  He is a known thief, and he has a new accomplice," Judd said

"That must have been who that inkling was talking about earlier," Sophia said "where is spyke?"

"Spyke lives in the sewers near the ally close to the octo valley kettle," Judd respond

Sophia once again thanked Judd and left to go get James.

The group consisting of Callie, Marie, and Sophia were all standing at the grate for the sewers to spykes lair.

"Do we really have to go down there," marie said.

"Yeah this is where spyke is, and inevitably James," Sophia said.

She then took of the grate cover and the three jumped down the hole into the sewer. Callie grossed out at it.

"Come on spykes lair is this way," Sophia said

The group then followed her as they navigated thier way through the sewer.  As they were navigating they started to hear laughter and followed it, and came derectly to spykes lair.  They took out the guards at the front and eventually found spyke and his cronies sitting at a table.

"Well, looks like we got some royals here mates," spyke said.

"Where is James?" Sophia asked.

"James!!" Spyke yelled.

They looked over and saw James walking in, or better stumbling in and they could see a beer bottle in his right hand.

"What buddy?" James asked in a drunken state.

"Are these your friends?" Spyke asked

James drunkily turned around to see Callie Marie and Sophia

"Hey guys," was all he managed to get out before he fell on the floor.

"What did you do to him?" Callie asked.

"Nothing, except inject him with drugs that alter his brain function, and make him high," spyke said.

"And good lord you let him drink,  WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!" Callie said.

"Hey he said he was okay with it, right James?" Spyke asked.

"Frick yeah I did," James said in his drunk and high state.

"Anyway, were here to take him home," Sophia said.

"James do you want to go back with them?" Spyke asked.

"No, I like it here, I got you, the guys, and free beer," James said still drunk.

"Alright case closed he doesn't want to come back so get lost," spyke said.

" were not leaving without him," Marie said.

"I'm doing what is best for him.  I'm giving him a life," spyke said

"A life where he is drunk, high, and likely going to end up behind bars.  If you really care about him you'll give him to us," Callie said.

Spyke thought for a moment.  This is how I started off he thought.  He became a criminal because his dad gave him beer, and had him pickpocketing.  He had originally wanted to be a shoe designer, but his dad had him take the criminal route.  He was about to do the same thing to James.

"Alright, James can go back," spyke said.

"No spyke llease, don't make me leave.  I'll do anything, ANYTHING just don't let them take me away, PLEASE," James said.

James wouldn't let go, until Derry finally came up behind him and knocked him out.

"I'll come with you, if he wakes up he's goin to need a familiar face, or he'll just run back here, and we don't want that," Darry said.

Sophia nodded and Darry picked James up and started walking back to the surface to take James home.  Once they got to the surface callie had James and Darry get in the car, and she drove back.  About halfway James woke up w little bit.

"Hey Darry, is that you," James asked.

"Yeah kid, were taking you home, to where you belong," Darry said.

"No man, spyke said he was gonna get me dinner," James said.

"Hey, how about I cook dinner tonight, would burgers be okay?" Callie asked

"Yeah I'm okay with that.  Darry got any beer, buddy?" James asked.

"No buddy, you're to young to be drinking anyway," Darry said

"Yeah James since your 16 your to young to be drinking beer," Callie said.

"But I'm not 16, I'm only 13," James said.

"Wait, your not 16, but you look 16, and Sophia is 16 and your the same height," Callie said.

"All humans are about this tall at 13," James said

"Great, we have been giving beer to 13 year old, and injecting him with drugs," darry said.

"Shouldn't he be in school learning about turf wars n stuff," Darry said.

"I guess, but why send him to a place where he doesn't need to be, I mean in the past week James is already level 50, and achieved s rank, so why have him to school to learn if he dissent need to, plus I'm afraid if some kid was a bully, they would end up in a hospital," Callie said.

"Darry" James said

"What kiddo?" Darry said.

"My stomach hurts, you got any medicine?" James asked.

"Yeah give me a second," darry said.

Darry pulled out the needle and gave James the injection.

"There you go kiddo, all better," Darry said.

"Thanks Darry," James said.

"You realize you shouldn't be giving him more drugs," Callie said.

"Yeah, but if I just stop he'll go into withdraw, and that's not good," Darry said.

Just then the car pulled up into Callie's home and Darry carried James inside.  Before he left darry gave Callie a case and said

"James doesn't need the injection, but he thinks he does.  These needles are not filled with the drug, but don't tell James that.  Slowly start letting him get off it.  After a good nights sleep his mind should be normal tomorrow," Darry said.

Callie nodded and thanked him for coming with her and went inside. She found James throwing up in the bathroom.  Another reason not to drink she thought to herself.

"Mabey we should skip dinner and just have you go straight to bed," Callie said.

James yawned in response. Callie led him to the guest room and put him to sleep.

James woke up and saw Callie, Marie, and Sophia standing around him.

"Hey what's going on guys?" James asked.

They didn't say anything, but started to make a evil smile.

"G-guys," James said starting to get scared.  Sophia pulled out a knife, and suddenly Callie and Marie were holding his arms.  He struggled to get free, but they were to strong.

"This is what you get for your sins," Sophia said.

She then stabbed him with the knife, and the other two dropped him.  He felt his life slowly slipping away, and the three just laughed and slowly walked away.  On his last moments he heard James,James,James.

"JAMES, JAMES, JAMES," Callie screamed.

"DONT STAB ME PLEASE," James screamed.

After he had calmed down a bit Callie said "I woke up and heard you crying, and when I came in you were shaking and I thought you were in big trouble.  What were you dreaming about anyway?"

"I was in the middle of no where, and suddenly you three came up to me.  You and Marie grabbed my arms and held me, and then Sophia pulled out a knife said 'this is what you get for your sins' and stabbed me in the chests and then you three walked away laughing.  I know why, I've killed so many people, not just small creatures, but actual living people," James said.

"Well I can say I've been there, and so has my grandpa.  He was in the great turf war long ago and he killed a lot of octarian, and saw a lot of good friends die in combat.  I've also killed a lot of octarians, its just something you have to get over," Callie said.

"How?" James asked.

"By remembering who your doing it for," Callie said.

"Thanks that actually help out a lot.  I just hope I don't have another nightmare," James said.

"Don't worry that's not going to happen," Callie said.

Then pulled James into a hug, and her grip was to tight to get out of.  He eventually leaned on her chest and fell asleep to her heartbeat.
