With nowhere to put them and no way to feed them, the ponies were sold into contracts of indentured servitude for an indefinite period of time, which is also applied at birth. In essence, slavery.

Years later, Starlight Glimmer has gotten lucky with a comfortable home, and without much attention from fans. However, she finds herself thrust into a new role on a massive farm powered by hundreds of ponies, one of leadership and power. As much as she voices her disapproval, it falls on deaf ears of her unlikely masters, an unreadable human named Anonymous and his closest ponies, Applejack, the CMC, and Big Mac.

As she grows closer with her old friends and becomes a figure of power on the farm, she begins to notice some startling changes with how she's seen. And, some new risks to face.
