The Future of the Twilight
Here I am in this cafe, and sitting right in front of me is Sunset Shimmer. Did she forget that I was free today? I originally thought of taking care of Flurry Heart, but I would've figured that my brother and Dean Cadance could handle her. I never thought I would see Sunset here all by herself, though. By the look on her face, she could use the warmth in here like me. A snowstorm really might be brewing up outside.
She told me that she was walking around the city and soaking everything in. But what did she mean by that? I wondered myself. It does seem interesting to me, however, that a smart girl like Sunset would spend her weekend just thinking about everything. As I'm eating, I couldn't help but smile along with Sunset, since she is my best friend and one of the most supportive ones ever.
"Can I get you ladies anything else?" Our waitress asked.
"Twilight?" Sunset asked me.
I stuttered a bit. "Oh, um, just the check please!" The waitress nodded politely and walked towards the cash register, which was right next to our table. "Thank you!" I said as she handed the check to me.
Without hesitation, Sunset reached for her wallet inside of her coat pocket. "I got this, Twilight." If she really wants to pay for the both of us, then that's fine. "You don't have to pay me back, by the way."
"Thank you so much, Sunset!" I exclaimed. As soon as she handed exact change to the waitress, along with a tip, we waved goodbye to her and have now left the cafe. Honestly, I haven't been this full in a while. Outside, little snow pellets were actually precipitating from the sky, so Sunset and I had to put on our hoods.
Before she and I parted ways, we hugged each other and headed in opposite directions to our homes. My friends don't live far away from each other, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of them showed up at my front door. The connection that I've formed with them feels very strong and it would hurt me if any of them get either depressed or down in the dumps, as I'd like to call it. Sunset, preferably, is like my main friend because of all the moral support that she's given me and I couldn't be more grateful for what she's done than I already am.
We may not have known each other for long, but this other Twilight, or technically me, is super friendly. Magic, at first, seemed very strange to me, but seeing a magical pony princess come out of a statue portal from an alternate dimension was even stranger. I've seen stranger things in my life, but none of them come close to what I've witnessed at the end of the Friendship Games. Good times... I thought to myself. At the exact picnic I had with my friends that day, the other Twilight told me all about herself and it was some powerful stuff. In the world of Equestria, fighting the evil forces of magic seems very common to her, but I find it to be a great experience. I sure like to be in her shoes...
I've now found myself in my own neighborhood. One of the Shadowbolts, Lemon Zest, is actually the only from my old school, Crystal Prep Academy, who lives near me. Whenever I would get on the bus to go to school, she would get on with me and start banging her head while rocking out to heavy metal music. I took it that it was her cup of coffee everyday. Whenever she didn't have her headphones on, she would act somewhat friendly to me. I'll admit that she's very crazy, but on the inside, she's not that bad of a person.
Speaking of crazy, Pinkie Pie feels like an almost complete opposite to me. Maybe, I need to study her a bit more. As I'm unlocking the front door to my house, I couldn't help but think just how Pinkie really is. I knew spying on my friends was wrong before, but I did find something out of that. She is the head of the Party Planning Committee at CHS, after all, and boy, does she like to party! The day after I transferred from Crystal Prep was my birthday and Pinkie greatly volunteered to arrange it. I wanted to make her feel very happy by accepting her as the host. When Sunset Shimmer blindfolded me and brought me to the party, Pinkie did not disappoint. I think she's very skilled when it comes to lifting people's spirits in an instant, and that's impressive. Her hugs may be very tight, but they are filled with lots of friendship and joy.
Seeing that there's no one inside my house at the moment, I decided to turn on the TV in the living room and lie down on the couch. The animal channel is quite fascinating, to say the least, and the only other person I know who seems to be good with wildlife is Fluttershy. She was the first one I encountered after the first round of the Friendship Games on a one-to-one basis and she seemed really kind to me then and now. Just like my other friends, I felt really bad about stealing her magic. I still love the fact that Fluttershy never blamed me on purpose for that purpose. My best friend, Spike, really likes to be under her care and that just warms my heart. When she took me to Canterlot Zoo, I was impressed by how many of the species Fluttershy was able to point out without even reading their signs. Heck, she could be a safari hunter, but I think I don't want to see her get scared and lost. I thought to myself. To this day, we still continue to talk about our love of animals and pets, and I admire all the care and kindness that she's given me, as well as to other people.
There was a shelf in my room that had all my sweaters and shirts. Among them was the official Wondercolt shirt, which was given to me by none other than Rainbow Dash. I'm usually not one for sports, but I can tell how athletic and brave she is. That's how she practically became the captain of every team at Canterlot High. Despite her calling me an egghead, I still respect her with all my heart. Ever since I first joined the soccer team at school, she helped me get into shape and become one of her best teammates, and she even congratulated me for carrying the team to victory. A reputation can change at any time and Rainbow Dash certainly doesn't want to be disloyal from now on. Her loyalty, athleticism, heart, and dedication to her friends are what make her a good role model. I felt like I've heard that before...
A commercial about dresses is currently being showed, which brings Rarity up for me. She is literally the most professional seamstress, fashionista, and designer I've known in my entire life. How she is able to fabricate and deliver outfits so quickly is beyond imagination. She demands perfection, but not like a corrupt business leader. Her generosity and inspiration of her friends is what keeps her going, and ever since I started hanging out with her, she really took a liking to me. I went shopping with Rarity a dozen times and she always insisted that I try on whatever she does. I don't criticize or judge people for their tastes, so whatever fashion she's into is always going to be fine with me. Rarity, in general, works in more sophisticated ways than I could think of. The dresses that she made me for the Crystal Gala and other school dances will always be cherished. She's even, surprisingly, in the middle of creating more branches of her clothing lines.
Somehow, I'm always intrigued by Applejack's amount of calmness. For all I know, she might the level-headed one out of all my best friends. She acts as calmly as Fluttershy, but with more of a firm voice. When she guided me to shoot the last target during the archery event at the Friendship Games, I couldn't believe how perfect she timed it. The truth is something that's not easy to spit out, but Applejack says it like there's no tomorrow. After my other self left, Applejack took me to Sweet Apple Acres and invited me to dinner with her family. The work that she had done around her home was all thanks to their help and her own strength. I kept on crying whenever she shared her family history because in its entirety, she had gone through some brutal hardships and losses. Despite all of that, she never gives up and still continues to work harder. She may have also spread some white lies, but that's because she even struggled with honesty when she was younger. I still pray in hopes that she takes everything well in her family pride.
And me? I've struggled my entire life as well. Midnight Sparkle was my biggest fear, but not anymore. Thanks to the magic of friendship, there's no way my life would end up like a complete mess. I still have a lot to learn about the subject, but I am getting there. No She-Demon, Dazzling, Principal Cinch, or Gaia Everfree is going to even stop us. I deeply love all my best friends and they have done so much for me, too.
When my friends directed their magic towards Sunset Shimmer, it turned her into Daydream Shimmer, a beautiful angel. If they did the same to me, what do I become?
