It was early. So early, in fact, that Celestia had not even gotten up to raise the sun into the sky yet...so early that the world was quiet and dark, and every little pony was asleep, and Luna was battling nightmares and comforting the little ones with frightening dreams. One would think that so early in the morning, that not even a single soul in ponyville would be stirred from their slumber? Well, you're partially right. However, there was a pony not asleep in ponyville...but she had not been stirred awake. In fact, she had not gone to sleep at all.
Pinkie Pie was wide awake. Well, she was tired, but there was no chance of her sleeping. Her mane and tail were a mess and she had dark circles under eyes, and still she found herself pacing her room, lost in thought rather than letting her brain and body rest for the night and early morning. The pink pony's mouth was curled into a stationary frown that only warped and changed with the small mutters that she let out softly in the contrast of the quiet. They weren't words or anything significant...just tiny little whispers and whimpers. What could possibly be keeping a pony like Pinkie Pie sad and anxious? It seems that there would be very little that could plague the poor pony's mind so intensely...but here she was.
"I just want some sleep..." She sighed softly, lying down on her bed and resting her head on her hooves. "This is super duper not-fun at all!"
