chapter 1: a new alicorn
Ponyville Fountain 11:00 am Monday,
All the Ponyville citizens gathered at the fountain to welcome a new citizen of Ponyville. As they all gathered around, Mayor Mare announced “Welcome every pony, it is my pleasure to introduce our newest citizen, Scorched Apple!” Scorched Apple went on stage and waved to every pony. He was red with black hooves and a mane and tail that faded from red to black to yellow to orange. His cutie mark was a burnt apple.
The stallion alicorn raised his voice and said “Thanks every pony for this wonderful greeting. Call me Scorch for short. I can’t wait to meet every pony!” As he stepped off the stage, he was greeted by 6 ponies who looked like the holders of the Elements of Harmony. “Hello” he said.
“Hi, my name is Twilight Sparkle and this is Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack. We are glad you chose to live in Ponyville,” stated Twilight.
Scorch replied “Thank you, this greeting was awesome!”
“By the way where are you from? Equestria does not have any stallion alicorns,” added Twilight questioningly.
Scorch looked confused then he understood. “Luna and Celestia came from an ancient alicorn race and I came from there. Applejack, are you part of the Apple family? If you are, my extremely great grandfather's friend started the Apple family with an earth pony. The alicorn gene faded away over time,” explained Scorch, while all of them looked on, amazed. “I better get going, I need to unpack. If you need anything, I will be in a maroon house on the left of Sugar Cube Corner. Bye!” Scorch called as he left.
Scorch’s house
Scorch was unpacking when the doorbell rang. He walked over to the door and opened it. He saw Applejack standing there. “I was wondering, could you help out on the farm?” Applejack asked.
“Sure, it's better than unpacking” Scorch answered. When they got to the farm Scorch was introduced to Granny Smith, Big Mac, and Applebloom. “Applejack said I could help with chores” Scorch stated.
“You sure can! You can start by getting some apples off the trees,” informed Granny Smith. Scorch turned toward the orchard and his horn began to glow a bright green. Instantly, all the apples in the orchard were off the trees and into buckets. The Apple family stood in awe, mouths hanging open.
“Did I do it wrong?” he said nervously and walked away from the stunned Apple family. As he went to his house he was greeted by Twilight.
“Hello Scorch! I was wondering if you could help me reorganize the castle library?” Twilight asked. Scorch agreed.
As they made their way into the library, Scorch saw all the books piled up on the ground. He started sorting them by category, his horn glowing in the dim light of the room. He was done in less than a minute. Twilight stood with a puzzled look on her face. “Well, I messed it up again” Scorch murmured as he turned and fled the room. Scorch was on his way back home when he remembered his past…
I came home from school feeling sad. Ponies were looking at me strangely when I tried to help, as usual. Ponies did not seem to like me, so I thought of a wonderful plan. My idea was that I would go to Equestria to meet the six heroes. Luna and Celestia went there, so why couldn't I? I started packing all my belongings then left my parents a note and set of for Equestria.
The next week (present day)
Scorch was invited to Pinkie Pie’s welcoming party that afternoon. He was walking to Sugar Cube Corner when he ran into Rainbow Dash. "Hi Scorch! Want to have a race?" she asked eagerly.
"Sorry, but i'm going to Sugar Cube Corner. I'll race you afterwards though!" Scorch replied.
"Great " Rainbow responded"See you soon!"
Scorch went through the doors of Sugar Cube Corner. He looked around the shop but only saw Pinkie Pie . "Great! You're here early! You can help me make the cupcakes. I haven't seen your baking skills yet!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. She handed him a cupcake and said “Eat this, it’s a sample!” He took the cupcake. The top of the icing was red and the bottom was black. The edges of the icing were lined with thin apple slices. Scorch took a bite of the cupcake, and it tasted amazing! He tried to thank her, but began to feel light-headed. Suddenly Scorch collapsed.
Scorch woke up in a dark, musty basement. He yelped as he felt a sharp pain in his head. A thin line of blood trickled down his head to his muzzle. He could taste the metallic flavor on his tongue. “Hello?” Scorch called out nervously, “Who’s there?”
“Why, me of course!” called out an eerily buoyant voice.
“P-Pinkie! What’s g-going on?” Scorch asked shakily.
“I’m going to make you into cupcakes! This will be my first batch of alicorn cupcakes! I was planning to make cupcakes out of Twilight, but she is too high profile. So sad!" she chirped.
“W-what!” he exclaimed, horrified
“Let’s get started!” Pinkie grabbed a scalpel and advanced." No, Pinkie please!" Scorch felt her scalpel pierce the skin around his cutie mark. “NO NO NO!” he shrieked. His shrieks turned to sobs as she peeled away both cutie marks. Pinkie Pie held them in front of Scorch, blood coming off in droplets. “Look at these - an alicorn’s cutie marks! Pinkie exclaimed with a sadistic grin.
Pinkie grabbed a nail gun and loaded it. She shot 4 nails into each arm. Blood spattered everywhere. Scorch's screams echoed throughout the small room. "STOP STOP STOP!" Scorch wailed.
She turned on her heel and grabbed a surgical scalpel. As Pinkie was walking back to Scorch, she tripped. The scalpel sliced his eye apart. With nothing to hold the eye in, it fell from the socket, dangling by the optical nerve. Blood covered his face. The trauma was too much, and Scorch passed out.
“Scorch, Scorch. Wakey wakey, you don’t wanna miss the harvest.” Pinkie happily cooed. Scorch wearily opened his eyes. She went to get the blood covered scalpel and approached the mangled alicorn. But before she could start the harvest, hoofsteps could be heard from the door.
"Scorch, ya down there, i heard yelling" called Rainbow Dash. Pinkie silently trotted to the side of the door with a butcher's knife. Rainbow entered the room to see the almost dead Scorched Apple Pinkie sliced the knife at Rainbow. It barely touched her hoof as she was turning around. It only made a scratch. "what are you doing pinkie" yelled Rainbow Dash, only silence responded. Pinkie charged Rainbow Dash. She quickly pivoted to dodge the knife revealing pinkie's back neck. Rainbow elbowed pinkie in the back of the neck, paralyzing her. After the fight Rainbow flew to the bleeding Scorched Apple
She quickly sliced the straps and removed the nails, Scorch fell on the ground he, looked up at Rainbow "help m-" before he could finish the words, he fell unconscious.
She grabbed the bucket full of Scorch's cutie marks and eye . She flew as fast as she could with Scorch on her back. Rainbow Dash burst into the doors of urgent care yelling “help, somepony help!” two workers rushed out to get the bloody pony.
Around an hour later the nurse came out “we were able to keep him alive and sew his cutie mark back on but we were not able to fix his eye or his horn, we are sorry ” the nurse informed her. The nurse exited the lobby. Rainbow felt sleepy after all the horror that evening she laid on one of the benches and closed her eyes
Rainbow woken up by her friends fluttershy, rarity, twilight, apple jack, and spike "we heard what happened Rainbow, i think we should go check on him" said Applejack
When they entered, they saw him sleeping with one eye bandaged up where the eye was supposed to be.
"Oh sugar cube" Applejack whispered to the sleeping Scorch.
A few minutes later scorch woke up. Looking around, he realized what had happened to him and he started screaming and breathing hard, pleading "don't no no please" after try to calm him down he went under his covers and started crying. Applejack went by his bed and said "your safe and alive, and that's the important part." Scorch came out from under the blanket. dried tears under his eyes and he looked, just to stop at Rainbow Dash.
"thank you" Scorch said smiling.
"so when are you going to get out of the hospital" asked twilight
"2 months. It's really bad" scorch said sadly
"well, we will be with you every step of the way" said fluttershy.
1 day later alitopia, Celestia raced down the streets of alitopia trying to find scorch's house. Finally she found it and knocked on the door. Appletree (scorches dad) answered it "come in, what caused you to come back" he said
"it is about your son" said celestia in a sad voice.
after she told Burningleaf and Appletree, they asked "where is he, we need to see him." scorch's parents and celestia started their way to ponyville.
3 hours later, they landed near urgent care. Celestia said "i have to go, that is urgent care" they nodded.
scorches parents burst through the door they ran up to the desk and asked "c-can we see S-Scorched apple, our son" the nurse nodded and told them to go to room 126. they went to the room, they quietly opened the door. Scorch looked up to see his parents. Scorch's parents could not believe what they saw. Scorch looked at his blanket,
they ran to scorch crying when they got to the bed they hugged scorch saying "it is going to be fine."
"what had happened" asked Burningleaf
"i'll tell you when I am better" Scorch said sadly.
"what can we do to make things better"asked Appletree.
"nothing" replied Scorch, his parents went over to sit on the chairs near the bed, they talked for awhile until Scorch got tired. Apple jack, Rainbow dash, Twilight, fluttershy, and rarity entered the room quietly apple tree got up and walked close to them
"hello i am Appletree and this is my wife Burningleaf. We are Scorched Apple's parents, and you are" apple tree said depressingly.
"I am Twilight Sparkle and that is Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack. Glad we could meet, though I hoped it would have been on better circumstances ." said twilight.
there was a pause. The first one to talk was Burningleaf "Scorch said one of you saved him from those.." Burningleaf paused for a moment before saying "things".
"I did, I wish I gotten there sooner, I am sorry" Rainbow said sadly remember what she saw.
"thank you, how can we repay you" Appletree said, exasperated.
"you don't have to do anything at all" Rainbow answered.
"so all of you are alicorns" Twilight asked after a long silence.
"yes" scorch's dad answered.
Scorched Apple opened his eye and looked around to see his friends but no parents "where are my par..." he stopped at parents remembering what happened.
It was bright sunny day when scorch was leaving for a better life. When he was walking he heard a scream and sizzle sound he turned to see a blazing fire ponies running everywhere. scorch ran as fast as he could. Scorch made it out but nopony else did. Alitopi was just a pile of ashes and burnt wood.
Scorch seeing his parents again was a dream. Tears filled Scorch's eyes his friends asked him what was wrong.
"nothing just allergies" he responded as he wiped his tears.
