Revenge of the Bad Apple
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWhen I got to Applejack’s house I knocked on the door. After a few seconds a small yellow filly opened it.
“Hiya there Twilight! What can ah do for you?” Applebloom said with a smile on her face.
“Can I speak to Applejack please?” I asked.
“Sure… ah don't know where she is though, check the barn. She might be in there,” Applebloom suggested.
“Ok, thanks Applebloom!” I replied.
“Anytime Twilight, anytime,” Applebloom said as she closed the door.
I turned away from the house and started walking towards the barn. I wonder what she's doing, I thought as I grew nearer. When I reached the barn I walked inside and looked around. Applejack wasn't there. “Applejack! You in here?” I called. Only silence followed. I was about to leave when something caught my eye. There was an outline of a trap door in one of the barn’s corners. I trotted over to it. How come I never noticed this before? I thought to myself. Then I realized that there was normally a pile of hay here. That's why, I thought, I wonder what she keeps in here. Maybe I could just take a quick look… but no! This isn't my house. I kept staring at the door, debating whether I should open it or not. My curiosity got the best of me and I pushed it open.
The stench of rotting apples hit me hard and I coughed. The room was pitch black, and only a descending ladder could be seen. This must be some sort of storage room, I thought. I was about to close the door when I heard a muffled scream come from inside. It sounded almost like somepony was crying for their life.
I immediately jumped into the hole, if somepony needed help I couldn't just leave them there.
My hooves hit the stone floor with a loud CLACK! I surveyed the dark room, I could barely even see the walls in the low light. I looked ahead of me and saw a door, the faint glow of a light came from under it. The smell was getting stronger now, but now it wasn't just rotting apples. There was another smell that drifted through the air, this one wasn't as nice. It smelled like a combination of rotting meat and puke.
Another scream came from the other side of the door. I needed to go in to see if somepony was in trouble. I pressed on the doorknob and twisted. It opened with a quiet creak.
There was blood all over floor, and half eaten apples were scattered about. In the corner there was a dead pony, dried blood caked it's hair. In the center of the room there was a pony sitting on the ground. He was tied up and gagged. Standing right in front of him with her back turned to me was Applejack.
