//-------------------------------------------------------// Revenge of the Bad Apple -by fizzyL3mon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 When I got to Applejack’s house I knocked on the door. After a few seconds a small yellow filly opened it. “Hiya there Twilight! What can ah do for you?” Applebloom said with a smile on her face. “Can I speak to Applejack please?” I asked. “Sure… ah don't know where she is though, check the barn. She might be in there,” Applebloom suggested. “Ok, thanks Applebloom!” I replied. “Anytime Twilight, anytime,” Applebloom said as she closed the door. I turned away from the house and started walking towards the barn. I wonder what she's doing, I thought as I grew nearer. When I reached the barn I walked inside and looked around. Applejack wasn't there. “Applejack! You in here?” I called. Only silence followed. I was about to leave when something caught my eye. There was an outline of a trap door in one of the barn’s corners. I trotted over to it. How come I never noticed this before? I thought to myself. Then I realized that there was normally a pile of hay here. That's why, I thought, I wonder what she keeps in here. Maybe I could just take a quick look… but no! This isn't my house. I kept staring at the door, debating whether I should open it or not. My curiosity got the best of me and I pushed it open. The stench of rotting apples hit me hard and I coughed. The room was pitch black, and only a descending ladder could be seen. This must be some sort of storage room, I thought. I was about to close the door when I heard a muffled scream come from inside. It sounded almost like somepony was crying for their life. I immediately jumped into the hole, if somepony needed help I couldn't just leave them there. My hooves hit the stone floor with a loud CLACK! I surveyed the dark room, I could barely even see the walls in the low light. I looked ahead of me and saw a door, the faint glow of a light came from under it. The smell was getting stronger now, but now it wasn't just rotting apples. There was another smell that drifted through the air, this one wasn't as nice. It smelled like a combination of rotting meat and puke. Another scream came from the other side of the door. I needed to go in to see if somepony was in trouble. I pressed on the doorknob and twisted. It opened with a quiet creak. There was blood all over floor, and half eaten apples were scattered about. In the corner there was a dead pony, dried blood caked it's hair. In the center of the room there was a pony sitting on the ground. He was tied up and gagged. Standing right in front of him with her back turned to me was Applejack. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 “Now now, calm down,” Applejack said, “the only pony that ya have to blame for this is yourself.” I started to gasp but covered my mouth before I could make a sound. The stallion noticed me and he stared at me and tried to say my name. “What are ya lookin’ at? Nopony is going to save a bad apple like you.” Applejack said as she turned around to see what he had been looking at. “APPLEJACK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” I yelled. Applejack jumped back. She obviously wasn't expecting me to be there. “WHY IS HE TIED UP?! I BETTER GET A GOOD EXPLANATION FOR THIS!” I continued. Understandably, Applejack was very surprised, “Twilight! Ah wasn't expectin’ ya…” I took a step forward, and began to untie the pony with my magic. “NO! No! Don't do that! Don't untie him!” Applejack interjected. “Why?! TELL ME WHY!” I screamed back at her. “Ah- Ah can explain,” Applejack responded. “Please do, because I’m not sure how you can make this look good.” I shot back. “Well first, may ah ask why you were snooping through my barn in the first place?” Applejack asked. “That's not important right now, I need you to tell me what HECK you're doing!” I shouted, shocked that she could even ask such a question right now. “This here is a bad apple. We can't have folks like this in our peaceful community. Ponies like this don't deserve to live, with their back handed comments an their snide remarks. Frankly, Twilight, you're acting like one of em right now! Just walkin’ in on somethin’ that ya weren't invited to.” Applejack said as she stepped forward. I stepped back and said, “Y-you’re insane…” “Insane? Ah don't think so. I’m jus’ smart, that's all. Ah see what’ll happen to this here community if we jus’ let bad apples run rampant! "Twilight, you ain't dumb, you should know what ah mean!” Applejack exclaimed. She picked up a knife that had been lying on a small table next to her and began to slowly walk forward. “There can be no bad apples! That includes you, Twi.” Applejack said menacingly. “Wha… what do you m-mean? I asked. Now realizing that I was in danger as well, I stepped back until I was completely in the other room. “Last time ah checked, snoopin’ wasn't a nice thing to do to friends,” Applejack replied, now starting to walk faster toward me. I turned and ran out the trap door, out of the barn and out of the farm. I didn't look back once. What had my friend become? How did she become such a monster? That poor stallion, and that dead pony as well! Who knows how many innocent ponies she had killed! This was horrible! This was despicable! I stopped running and collapsed on the ground, I was panting heavily. What will I do?! Should I tell Celestia? No, she wouldn't believe me, and Applejack is most likely cleaning up that area right now. Maybe she'll come after me! I'm not sure if I would be able to hurt one of my friends… I thought. Of course she'll come after me, she was most likely going to kill me right then and there if I hadn't of ran. I looked around, some ponies were starting to notice me laying down in the middle of the street. I knew that I didn't look good, and I didn't want anypony to get suspicious. So, after a quick pause, I stood up and started walking again. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 When I got to Applejack’s barn I sneaked in through a window. I needed to make sure that she wouldn't see me enter. When I got in I looked around. Applejack was dragging the dead body of the stallion out from the trap door. She threw him on the ground. That stallion… I could have saved him… I thought. My mind filled with regret, but when I saw Insonsia's body, and how mutilated it was, my regret flared back into anger. I was blind with rage. Applejack would pay. No mercy, I thought. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 When Applejack had put both of the bodies in place she stood over them. “Now that I've taken care of these two, I should go get Twilight before she tells everyone. What a shame it would be if bad apples were allowed to live here!” Applejack muttered to herself. I rushed her and slammed her head against the wall. She crumpled to the ground and I kicked her in the face. Her head flew back and slammed against the wall again. Her muzzle began to bleed. I hit her again, but this time in the chest. I could hear the crack of her breaking ribs. Applejack groaned and looked up at me, there was a look of anger, pain and surprise on her face. She looked straight into my eyes. I could feel her reading my emotions, and I could read her's as well.  She was shocked that I was hitting her. She must've thought that I would never have been capable of harming one of my closest friends. I kicked her again, which broke our eye contact. She let out another loud groan, but this one was followed by a cough that cause blood to shoot out of her throat. She looked at the ground. My anger was only growing. “Well? What do you have to say for yourself?! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!” I shrieked as I kicked her once more. She didn't answer. I grabbed her head and forced it up so that she had to look into my eyes, and see my anger. “Any last words, bitch?” I said angrily, “Any remorse, regret, ANYTHING?!” I screamed. Applejack looked directly into my eyes and spit blood in my face. “Go to hell,” she growled. “Fine, you want to be that way? YOU WANT TO BE THAT WAY?!” I shouted. I reared back and put my horn down so that it was pointing directly at her. “Say goodbye to your pitiful life.” I said. Then I charged at her. My horn pierced her neck with ease and came out the other side. She made a gurgling noise then went limp. Her eyes glazed over, she was dead. I pulled out my horn, fresh red blood began to pour down my face. I looked at the newly dead Applejack in front of me. She lay limp against the wall, a small pool of blood slowly forming under her neck. All of my anger left me and I no longer had a shield of protection protecting me from my deeds. There was long silence as I just stared at her body. After a while, I crouched next to Applejack and began to cry. My tears mixed with the red blood below me as they fell off my face. “Why Applejack, why? Why did it need to be this way? WHY?!” I screamed with anguish. I grabbed her body and held it in my legs. Blood covered my purple coat. I squeezed her as hard as I could. “Why...?” I repeated. Then a terrible thought entered my mind. I just killed a pony. No, not just a pony, my friend! How could I?! I’m the same as her! I'm no better! I'M NO BETTER! I shouted in my mind. “NO! I'M NOT AS BAD AS HER! I NEVER COULD BE AS BAD AS HER. I DON'T KILL PONIES FOR SPORT!” I screamed, for anypony that might have been listening in to hear. My anger returned and I threw her body on the ground. It hit the floor with a thud. I looked into her dead face with disgust. My horn began to glow and her body exploded in flames. “So this is how it ends? I thought that you were tougher than that Applejack,” I sneered, “Pathetic.” I kicked her body once more then turned away. I’m done here, I thought. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue After a court trial Twilight was found not guilty due to self defence. Applejack was dangerous and had posed a huge threat to her, so Twilight got off without any consequences... with the court of law at least. Twilight was never the same after that day. She barely ever talked and stayed in her house for long periods of time. She also topped taking her classes from Celestia. Whenever any of her friends tried to talk to her she would either respond coldly, or not at all. Nopony ever heard her laugh again. Even Spike couldn't talk with her. However, sometimes at night he would hear her crying in her room. One time, a few years later, it got so bad he had to check on her to make she was alright. When he opened the door he found her dead on the floor. Twilight had killed herself; she was just one more casualty of Applejack’s. I guess that's just what you get for being a bad apple. The End //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 “Oh no!” I exclaimed as the shelf of books fell off it's mount. I managed to use my magic to prevent the shelf from hitting the floor, but all the books tumbled to the ground. I had been trying to fix this shelf for the last couple of hours, but no matter what I did it would just fall again. I looked at the mount, it actually broke this time. Half of the wood piece lay fractured on the floor. I sighed. “SPIKE!” I yelled. No response. “SPI-” “What?! …what do you want,” Spike interrupted. The little purple dragon rounded the corner. He looked as if he had been sleeping. “Do we have any rope I can use for this? I think I'll try to hang this shelf from the ceiling instead.” I said, pointing at the snapped wooden mount. “Why would we have rope just laying around, waiting for this piece of wood to break?” he asked sarcastically. “Don't be like that Spike, just tell me,” I responded, slightly annoyed. “No, we don't have any rope,” Spike answered, “You could ask some other pony for some though, maybe Applejack or Fluttershy? I would think that they have some.” “I'll go ask Applejack then, I haven't seen her in a while,” I said. “Ok, I'll see you later,” Spike replied. I walked to the door, “Bye Spike, I'll be right back! Don't do anything stupid.” “Yeah yeah, I know,” Spike yawned, “Bye…” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 As I was walking back to my house I kept thinking about what I had seen. Who was that dead pony? She looked familiar… I thought. Then with a stroke of horror, I remembered who she was. She had just come to town, I remembered greeting her just one day ago. She was looking for a job, and I guess she must have rubbed Applejack the wrong way. Her name was Insonsia. My walking slowed to a stop, I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. That was too much. I curled up on the ground and started to sob. I didn’t care if other ponies looked or stared. My world was imploding. I played there for a while. How could a pony to all those terrible things to another pony? How could a pony, especially a pony like Applejack, kill without any remorse? A spark of anger ignited inside of me. I stood back up. My blood began to boil. She will pay for what she has done. I will make sure of it myself, I thought. I quickly turned around and started to walk back to Applejack’s farm. I knew what I was doing was against the law, but I didn't care anymore. I would give revenge to all the innocent ponies that she has slaughtered in cold blood.
