“Welcome to Rocket Vehicle training day one. My names Mr. Boost and I’ll be teaching you in these one on one lessons Mr?” The instructor asks holding out his hoof.
“Strike. Fast Strike.” I answer as I shake his hoof.
“Nice to meet you Mr. Strike. You have one free vehicle token. You can use it to pick the vehicle you will start with! After you pick the vehicle I’ll be teaching you how to drive it. Pick your vehicle! We have the Zippy! The Octane! The Scarab! The Dominus! The Roadhog! The Backfire! The Breakout! The Gizmo! The Hotshot! The Merc! The Paladin! The Sweet Tooth! The Venom! The Takumi! Aaaaaaaand the X-Devil! PICK YOUR VEHICLE!” Mr. Boost says proudly.
“Ow…. I think my eardrums burst….” I groan as I rub my hooves against my ears.
“Yes, Yes. Now! Your car of choice!” Mr. Boost says as he places a hoof on my shoulder.
“Urm…. I’ll take the…. Takumi!” I reply as I point my hoof at the Japanese styled car.
“Great choice! You ready to get driving?” Mr. Boost asks as he rubs his front hooves together.
“Let’s do this.” I reply with a smile.
Mr. Boost holds out a hoof and in his hoof, is a key with a Rocket League ball attached.
-2 years later-
“I’m sorry Fast Strike but you’re just not good enough for the team. You’ve been training for a year and a half now but you’re just not improving enough. We’re going to be selling you to one of the lower teams. You have two teams to pick from Orbsah United or Ponyville RL?” The Coach asks.
“I’ll go to Orbsah United…. I’ve always wanted to see Orbsah’s countryside’s.” I answer.
“Okay. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you boy but you’re just not ready. I hope this works out better for you.” The coach says as he offers a handshake.
“Yeah. Hopefully this’ll be the break that I need.” I smile as I shake his hoof.
I turn around and head towards the door of the office, I open the door and step outside, closing the door behind me.
“*Sigh* Maybe someday I’ll be here. Playing among the best in Equestria. Playing against those from other countries and planets…. Someday….” I muse to myself.
“Fast Strike dear! Are you okay?” My Mom asks as she pulls me into a hug.
“Yeah. Let’s get home, I’ll drive.” I say as I look at the keys in my hoof.
“Want to stop at HayBurger on the way back? I’ll pay.” My Mom offers.
“Sure…. Some fast food would be nice.” I say with a sigh.
-1 Day Later-
“Welcome to the Kramedart Orbsah Stadium! I hope you like the look of it. It cost us about 10,000 bits to build.” The owner of Orbsah United says cheerily.
The owner of Orbsah United has a slate grey coat with a chocolate brown mane. He’s a cheery stallion who has quite a large amount of money. A lot of people in Orbsah love him as he brings lots of visitors when Orbsah United play a game.
“Yeah I like it. It’s surprisingly tall…. Like…. Really tall.” I say as I look up at the top of the stadium.
“Yeah. It took me a lot of money to build this place. Anyway, enough about the stadium let’s talk about your role in the team. I’m looking for a young player who has potential in the future. You’ll be in the first game of the season so get your car ready. I’m giving you 1,000 bits to customise your car to your taste. You need to have two main colours. Blue, purple or green for when we’re home and Red, Pink, Orange or Yellow for when we’re away.” The owner explains as he hands me 1,000 bits.
“Nice. Alright man I’m not gonna let you down.” I say excited for what the future holds.
“Good, now the garage is down that street. Get your tail over there and get that Japanese classic customised.” The owner says with a smirk.
I open the door to the car and hop in, slamming the door as I enter. I then start the engine and speed my way down the street and towards the garage. I drift to a stop outside of the garage causing the tires to screech and painting the road in tarmac from the tires.
“Calm down their speedster don’t want you to go destroying your car.” A stallion in a mechanics outfit says as he cleans oil off a spanner with a dirty handkerchief.
“Yo! You the mechanic?” I ask as I step out of my car.
“Damn straight. Nice choice on the car bro. Classic Japanese from Earth. The humans used to love these things…. Then came the Octane…. Sad times bro, but seeing you with this little beauty fills me with some hope that maybe you can show those two leggers what a real car can do.” The mechanic says with a chuckle.
“The names Fast Strike, what’s yours?” I ask as I offer a handshake.
“The names Racing Safety. You seem like a chill dude. Now then let’s get this little Jap a nice-looking body.” The mechanic says as he shakes my hoof.
“Dude, I want this thing to be green for my home games with a yellow Reiko paintjob and Yellow for my away games with a green Reiko.” I say as I hand him the 1,000 bits.
“Wait you’re THAT Fast Strike? Damn dude you can have this thing for free. I want to see this thing in a match AND when people see how good this thing’ll look when you win they’ll want to come here! Give me about ten minutes and this beauty will be beyond delicious!” Racing Safety says with excitement in his voice.
“You sure? I don’t wanna take nothing for free.” I ask.
“Dude, it would be my honour to work on this little beast.” Racing Safety says as he licks his lips.
“Alright man. I’ll be back in ten.” I say as I leave the mechanics to take a walk around the city.
