Fallout Equestria: Project Ghost Squad
Chapter 1: Old FairyTails
It all started on that day, although the squad of six had very non-normal lives, they had no idea things would get even less normal, The Squad of six, known as "Ghost Squad" was made up of Flare, the quiet and emotionless Assault Pony, equipped with his usual Assault Rifle, Specs, the Sniper Pony, Equipped with his 50. Rifle with a Custom Zoom Scope that plugs into his Goggles, Breach, The Blond Mane Pegasus, Equipped with an Assault Shotgun, with a silencer attachment, Light Flame, the quiet and shy Unicorn equipped with her Damaged SMG, and the only one in the squad that wears a Helmet for protection, Prophet, the young and intelligent Tech Specialist, equipped with a Silenced Handgun, and a shoulder gun attached to her back, linked directly to her Glasses with a built-in targeting system. And last but not least, Rose, the Fearless leader of Ghost Squad, Equipped with her father's Semi-Automatic Rifle, she is also the Older Twin Sister of Prophet.
the prophet was completely exhausted about her computer not working
"stupid machine, I don't need Administrator permission for this action. I made you!"
her older sister just chuckled
"sis, it's like a newborn filly, it may be your creation, but it doesn't follow every command"
"well it needs to follow my command"
Flare and Specs are sitting next to each other as always, and as always, trying to figure new ways of outdoing each other, best friends or not, they always want to be better than the other. top of their class.
Light Flame was staring off into the distance like she usually does, nobody ever knows what she is thinking, but they can all tell, she doesn't exactly like violence. nobody understands how she was selected to be put into this new squad project. each individual was selected by skills they possessed, each ranked with high scores. but a prophet couldn't even find Light Flame in the record, and as far as the squad was concerned, she had no combat skills.
she remains a mystery.
And Breach, well, let's just say breach wasn't exactly what everyone thought. The breach was a Pegasus, one of the enemy, WAS one of the enemies, as far as the logs and database say, Breach left the First Flight Division. he was to be terminated by his Superiors, due to seeing classified documents. he didn't exactly like that idea, so he took up arms, and killed every FFD unit. and cut the heads off of his Superiors bodies, and placed them on stakes around the entrance of the FFD Facility. it was a terrifying sight, but that was the point he was trying to make, put fear into the eyes of his enemies, and that he did.
The day seemed to drag on for the team, taking forever in the hot heat of the sun, no one really said anything, but you can tell they all are getting agitated.
"Fuck! when are we supposed to start the mission? do we even know what the mission is?"
Breach was always a bit short tempered.
"HQ gave me the mission plans, but all they said was we need to infiltrate the raider outpost, and take a package"
"A package, that's just great, just fucking terrific. we don't even know what we are looking for?"
Rose only smiled.
"I never said that...Prophet, pull up the package details"
Prophet pulls up her computer and shows them the screen that has a pony on it.
"the so-called package is actually a mare known as Infinity, apparently she is worth around 300,000 caps, and holds quite a bit of valuable information"
breach looked a bit confused.
"Great, so our first mission together is too fucking babysit some brat"
Rose is getting a bit paranoid.
"Breach, do you ever get tired of bitching about literally everything? what does it matter what the mission is, we still get paid"
"Whatever"
Breach only looks away, it's around 6:00 P.M. and it's getting dark, mission starts at 21:00 hours when it's nice and dark, and nobody can see the team.
"Okay squad, we all remember our jobs? Prophet, you hack into the building and take out any turrets, Flare, you and me will flank the rear door, Specs, I need you to find a high building to get on top of, and give us support fire, Breach, I want you to go to the front and take them out, that's where the most raiders will be, so be careful"
"Ha, don't worry about me, this is hardly even going to be a challenge"
"And Light Flame....ahh, I want you to.....ahh, ah yes, I want you to assist Prophet"
"Um, okay, but what if we get attacked"
"don't worry Light," Prophet said with a comforting smile to her
"Nobody will be able to spot us here, we have the trench, and also all the bushes, plus it's dark out, and I doubt any of them paid for 'Cat Eyes', so I'm sure we will be fine"
"W-what are 'cat Eyes'?"
Breach smiled at her "it's a special type of pill that enhances your vision and adjusts it to the dark but don't worry, I won't let any of them escape"
Breach was always so nice to her, not once has he ever cussed, or hollered at her, he always tried to make her happy, even when she was scared, he would make her smile.
"Alright squad, every one watch your backs, HQ is pretty worked up about these raiders, apparently they aren't the typical run and gun sloppy type of raiders, they are organised, and skilled, we aren't sure where they received training, but hell, I guess just about anyone can pick up a few tricks in the lands, so check your corners, and stay quiet...except you Breach, give em hell"
Breach grinned, then started walking toward the front doors.
Rose and Flare made their way around the back
Rose got on her Mic. "alright everyone, Showtime"
Breach placed an Explosive charge on the front door, and with a loud bang, the doors flew off the hinges, and bullets started flying, all you hear is gunshots, and screaming.
"I almost feel bad for them"
Rose smiled "did you just make a joke Flare? Progress, hehe"
they both snuck through the back doors, undetected, they made it into the outpost building, and both slowly crept through the halls, bullets still going off, and the sound of a shotgun pumping shells can be heard. Breach was doing his job, loud and proud...a little too proud.
Rose glanced around a corner checking for enemies, and there they were, two ponies guarding a door.
"two, both equipped with steel armor, but no helmets, I think one shot will do, you want this one, or shall I take it?"
Flare only shrugged his shoulders
"Fine, I got this"
She attached her silencer and peeked around the corner, she started to line their heads up, she was ready, she inhaled a breath, just about to take her moment, when all of a sudden one of the guards spot her.
"Hey!"
she pulls the trigger, but the bullet only hit one guard through the jaw and blows it clean of, his tongue dangling, and he starts choking on his blood.
The other guard lifts his rifle and fires, Rose tries to pull her head back, but one bullet manages to graze her cheek.
"Bastard, he hit me"
Flare quickly pulls the pin of the rifle back and loaded a round into the chamber, and he jumps in the hallway with a roll, bullets fly by him but don't hit him, he gets lucky, without a thought, he quickly pulls the trigger without aiming, a few rounds hit the floor in front of the guard, but then the rest hit the target and rips through the pony's chest plate.
the guard falls the floor, choking on his blood.
"all clear, Rose"
"Damn, of all ponies, why did I have to be the first to get injured"
"Don't be too sure about that, listen....do you hear that?"
Rose tries to listen, it's quiet, no more shots are being fired, only silence fills the halls
Goosebumps are sent down her spine.
"B-breach...I don't hear him, where is he?"
she quickly gets on her mic.
"Breach....Come in Breach...Respond...."
Only static.
"We need to keep moving Rose, let's find Infinity first, then worry about Breach's location, I'm sure he is fine"
She exhaled and then stared at the ground
"you're right, let's keep going"
they run over to the doors that the guards were guarding, each on both sides of the doors
"Three...Two...One"
Flare kicks in the door and they run in.
the both check the corners
"Clear"
"Clear"
in the room, a single king sized bed lay, with a mare on her back, front and back hooves bound to the four corners of the bed with duct-tape around her mouth, unconscious, bruised and a few small cuts on her body.
"Is that Infinity?" asked Flare
Rose checks her cutie mark, a whistle with an Infinity symbol behind it.
"I'm guessing so, but what's with the whistle in her cutie mark"
Flare's eyes widen
"her, I-it's her? but how? I assumed she was dead, I didn't even know she was a mare, nopony even knows what she looks like"
Rose is confused
"w-what are you going on about? do you know this Pony?"
"No, but the story has it, she caused many deaths, within the FFD, the Enclave, the Steel Rangers....hell, she caused death everywhere!"
"Flare, calm down, you're not making any sense, it's not like you to freak out about something, who is she?"
".....She's the WhistleBlower...."
chills went down her spine, she remembers that name, the story the elders told, the "The WhistleBlower" the one who releases any and all secrets, causing wars, death and destruction, she can cause anyone to be targeted, and be murdered, legend has it, she is immortal, and does not age, never to be harmed by Time.
"She can't be trusted Rose, she has no side, no cause, no reason, she only brings death and destruction"
"B-but...it can't be her, what would HQ want with something like that? it doesn't make sense"
Flare lifted his rifle and aimed it at Infinity, and it caught Rose off guard
"what the hell are you doing, Flare!?"
"She caused so much pain and suffering to many, she needs to be put down"
Rose quickly moved in between them to block her
"what do you mean? we have orders to take her into HQ, she is important"
"Why!? Why does HQ want her Rose? what could they possibly need her for? you heard me the first time, She. has. no. side. can't you understand that?"
"stand down Flare, you're out of line, this is my mission, and I am your superior officer, and that is an order"
"out of my way Rose, now"
they both stare at each other, eyes narrowed, ready for a fight, Flare with his rifle aimed at Rose's head, and Rose with her rifle at his chest
"Snap out of it, both of you!"
Rose looked at where the door is, Breach is standing there, holding his gut, and blood dripping from him, and a bit of blood Dripping from his blond mane, down the left side of his face, his left eye is closed, trying to keep the blood from getting into it.
"B-breach? you're alive, but we thought you were dead, you didn't answer your Mic."
Breach through the Mic. and its radio on the ground before him, a hole was pierced through the radio.
"Bullet went clean through, I thought I was a goner for sure, I was laying in my own blood, I could see the black outlining my vision, I started to accept the fact that I was going to bleed out and die, but something gave me the will to get up, a voice, I don't know whose it was, but it gave me the strength to get up, so I did, and where do I end up? right here, about witness both of you murder each other...."
Rose and Flare look at each other and see the guns they are aiming at each other, they both throw down their weapons.
"w-what the hell was that I couldn't control myself"
"Turn around" Breach told her.
she turns and looks at infinity.
she lay there, staring at Rose, Grinning, teeth showing, and her cutie mark was glowing.
Rose stepped back in shock, her legs felt weak, and she felt light-headed, she felt as if the air in her lungs had been taken away like the air was unbreathable.
Breach limped toward Rose and stood next to her.
"I knew that name sounded familiar....Infinity....The Whistleblower, her name was in the Secret Documents that the FFD had, the ones that almost got me killed, they planned to take her, and try to get her to help them, against anyone who stood up against them, and if she didn't cooperate, they would try to use her powers as a weapon, to find secrets of their enemies, and to cause them to fall from the inside. cause allies to fight, and you got yourself war"
Flare stood there, staring at Infinity
"Well Rose, your call, kill her and tell HQ we were too late? or call HQ for a Pickup?"
she wasn't sure what was going to be the outcome of either decision, but she knew she needed to make one
"lets keep her alive for now, give her to HQ, and find out what they plan to do with her, if HQ finds out we killed her, we might just share the same fate, but I think it's safe to say HQ has a few of its own secrets, and that we can't fully trust them, and as far as I'm concerned, you are all my squad, your safety is my priority"
"then it's settled" exclaimed Breach
"we call in for a pickup"
"and what makes any of you think that I am going with you?"
they all look at infinity
"do you really think this is going to end well? all pony kind is the same, they seek power, and I am the key to the empire that many seek.....but. Do any of you know what happens to every empire?"
"what the hell does it matter?"
She looked at Breach
"All. Empires. Fall...no exceptions, the only thing that waits in your future is Death, and destruction, do any of you actually think you matter? you're all just pawns in this game of chess, and the land of Equestria is the Gameboard"
she starts Laughing insanely, a laugh out of this world as if death himself was laughing.
"And the game has already Begun! Haha aha ha And it's your MOVE!"
Breach can’t take it anymore, he walks up to her and wacks her in the head with the stock of his gun, it knocks her out cold
"what did she mean, pawns in a game of chess?" asked Rose
"She was just trying to scare us, come one, make the call, I wanna get out of here"
"right....HQ....this is Ghost leader Requesting a Verti-Buck on my location"
