Ace woke up to a scream. He went to go check to see what happened. Right when he walked out the door two guards tackled him, cuffed his hooves and put a horn brace on him. They took him to the castle and stood him in front of Celestia herself.
"Ace sparks, you have been accused of the murder of an heir to the throne, how do you plead?" She interrogated coldly.
"N-not... guilty?" He stuttered.
"Positively shameless, into the dungeon." She stated.
They threw him into a cold cell. He was still cuffed and braced. Everything went by so fast, he didn't understand.
He didn't even get a trial!
He sat where they threw him, completely still.
Suddenly, a guard appeared.
It was Shining Armor.
"S-shining?" Ace asked.
He had an angry look on his face.
"I know what you did, Ace. You murdered my sister!" He spat.
"D-don't I have a right to a fair trial?" He said.
"Don't try to get out of this one. If Celestia doesn't find you guilty, I will."
"I didn't do it, I swear! I didn't even know she died!" He exclaimed.
"Don't lie to me!"
"I wouldn't. Twilight and I were best friends!" Ace pleaded.
"We'll see about that, you'll get your trial." Shining spat the word 'trial'.
About two days later, the trial started. Ace was fending himself off from an ocean full of cold faces.
"Ace Sparks, do you know why you're here?" Celestia said.
"I-I'm not sure." He replied.
"You are here today because you have been accused of the murder of Twilight Sparkle, your punishment, if found guilty, is death." She stated.
"Do you have any evidence otherwise?" She continued.
"N-no, your majesty." He stuttered.
"I herby find Ace Sparks guilt-" She was interrupted by a small figure rushing into the room.
"I have evidence!" It exclaimed. It was Spike! He was holding a letter.
"What might it be?" She inquired.
"A letter Twilight wrote!" He said.
"Read it to us." She commanded.
"Dear Celestia, today I met a friend. His name is Ace Sparks. He loves books about as much as I do. We are now best friends. I guess we have some sort of strong connection. Signed, Twilight Sparkle." He finished reading.
"Does this change the verdict?" She asked the jury.
"Yes, your highness." Stated somepony in the front.
"You are found innocent by the jury, Ace Sparks, you are free to go."
