Coma

It was quiet. Simply too quiet. I stared absently out on the flowing field filled with wild flowers and other flowers I wouldn't know about. The moon fell upon my gaze and locked me in an icy stare. Which felt like ages... almost as if I could remember those chilly mints. Frowning, I look away from her glowing light.

My name is Lee King, at least the most normal name around the area that wouldn't have some fantasized name like Princess Glowy Heart or something along the lines as that. I'm 27 in human years, I can't even remember how long I've been here. I'm probably much older by now but I can't remember the smell of a freshly baked birthday cake.

I've been stuck here in Equestria I believe for some time now, it's pretty odd down here going for show there's talking horses that have multicolored coats.

Last time I can remember, I was working for the police, I was shot down while trying to help victims that were at gun point with a few robbers. Maybe this is my afterlife? Don't know. I'm starting to believe I went into a coma. But why would I be in an almost realistic world with flying horses and unicorns? Almost as if I stepped into a bright cartoon show for children. To show what it means to be nice and kind to other people. I haven't been rude have I?

"Lee. Suppers ready, stop dilly dallying and come inside and eat." A proud country voice called out for me. Her accent was strong as hell and she wasn't afraid to show it.

I nodded and stood up, walking inside and catching a glimpse of the country horse.

That's Miss. Flare, she's a pain in my ass. She's the type of lady to go around and turn your day upside down, I was affected by it a lot. I think she thinks I'm insane when I say I'm human...

"Still think you're a human, Lee?" She placed a bowl of slop on the table.

"No, not at all Miss. Flare, thank you for the meal." I said between gritted teeth, I had to lie to her almost everyday because if I didn't apparently I would get beaten.

I'm 27 years old and I'm treated like a child. I mean, I guess it's better than being put in a asylum.

The mare stared at me and waited for me to take a first bite of my cold meal, why was she even heating it up? It's fucking cold! I couldn't argue with myself anymore, I slowly but shakily lifted the spoon with my magic and took a taste of it. It sent a shiver down my spine at it's cold bitter taste. Basically the taste of pennies and then you tried to make it better by putting salt and other seasoning on it but you just can't fix it.

She then went on to eat her own food, it looked as if it was heated much better than mine. I truly couldn't deal with this anymore -- I either leave now or continue to live like this. Which I don't want to, so off into the city for me!

I continued to force feed myself, slamming the slop to the back of my throat so I wouldn't have to deal with it's disgusting taste.

"I reckon you had a good day today, Lee?" She smiled seeing that I was actually eating, I mean I wasn't, it was fucking disgusting but I was skin and bones.

I nodded "My day was alright."

Miss. Flare wasn't much of the type to talk so she simply looked away and focused on her so 'important' food, now her child was a different story.

A little colt came rushing down the staircase with a knitted pony that looked like a guard and another pony that had wings and a horn. Why was that? Maybe that's the alicorn breed everyone speaks of and respects so dearly.

I heard there's four of them that are considered royalty that own something. One has a moon ass tattoo and another has a sun ass tattoo, people call them cutiemarks but I think that's stupid. Just call them ass marks or something.

"Oh yeah supper!" He interrupted my thoughts and sat down on the chair, eating almost instantly.

He blinked and stopped looking over at his mother with a full mouth, before he could speak he swallowed his food and proceeded to speak "Thanks ma!"

She laughed, increasing the wrinkles on her features "You're welcome, you better eat good now because you'll be learning how to farm and harvest."

They had their own boring conversation about plants and vegetables. I sighed almost depressingly and finished my bowl of food, I washed my dish perfectly and placed it on the stand for it to dry.

My legs ached and my head pounded, I was sick and tired of living like this.

"Miss Flare." I announced.

She looked my way and perked her ears to show she was listening to me.

"I'll be upstairs in my room if you need me, thank you for the meal." I headed my way up the stairs before she could even say anything, not even a 'you're welcome' but just a scoff of disgust.

I wasn't very liked in her family, I guess it's because they believe I'm crazy for telling the truth. My room was just down the hallway, it's... something.

The walls were fading from this area and so I opened my door, cobwebs were in the corners of my ceilings and dust was piling up in one corner. I told you it was something. I sighed softly and closed my door, laying down on the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. It honestly took me some time to get used to it...

Every morning I would wake up with a sore back or a sore ass, I would rather sleep on a hill with rocks on top of it than sleep on this bed. But I guess I can deal with it.

I tossed and turned for a moment, trying to find a more comfortable position to sleep in. This body was hard to get used to, I'm more used to being able to just jump in my king size bed and curl in my blankets but that isn't much of an proper option right now. Why a unicorn horse out of everything else? I think I'd rather be a goat or something. Maybe it's because I never spent too much time with my daughters, they loved unicorns and other fantasy characters. It's their dreaded mother that wouldn't let me see them again.

Sleep began to drift over my eyes but I forced myself to stay awake, I wanted to get out of here and I will one way or another.

I think there was a city up ahead, something busy because all I can hear is the blades of helicopters screaming and the roars of conversations that echoed the streets. I don't know how I'll be able to get there if all I am is considered homeless in this world. Poor and homeless, hungry too... speaking of hungry, I sure could go for some hamburgers.

My bed creaked at every movement I made, slowly I stood up and found myself staring at my hands -- or hooves. I guess I was a nice shade of a color, a black coat with a sock marking on my left back leg, my hair was white and had streaks of blue in my top hair... I don't know what it's called, I don't know anything about horses.

I examined the room and waited patiently for Miss. Flare to exit the kitchen and go to her own room so I can sneak some food and take off. It... took some time honestly.

4 hours just for her to finish eating and go to sleep, how long does it take an old hag to finish slop and go to bed? Don't know, don't care.

I quickly grabbed a bag and stuffed whatever food that looked appetizing to me, tasty apples were suddenly a craving of mine in this body. She had raisins, some trail mix and some other stuff old people would eat but I decided to pack that anyways. Frowning, I turned away and quietly tied the bag -- I had enough food and her fridge was just about empty now. Oh well.

My vision stared at the old brick house after I exited the house, the horrible pastel painting was fading and it didn't even match the scenery, it just looked like some shitty shed where you would put things you don't need in it and never unlock it ever again. That's pretty descriptive... heh.

It was surprisingly easy to move in an equine body, I'm used to my two legged body instead of a body that has four legs.

My body seemed to automatically know how to trot, my curiosity was far more advanced and I didn't even think it was still there! I was trained not to wander off as a policeman, to always focus on your priorities. But this body is just absolutely bonkers! Weird food cravings, curiosity upgrade and some other stuff I can't even think about.

Somehow I found myself at the city already, I realized I've been keeping myself busy by explaining this body to myself mentally.

I bumped into another equine and quickly stood up, "I'm sorry I didn't see you there."

A purple unicorn pegasus rose up, oh my god!

"Bloody hell! I'm so sorry your majesty!" I bowed down realizing that she was one of the four royalty alicorns.

I couldn't believe it, I was actually standing in front of royalty! Wait... why was this so meaningful to me? It's not like she's a queen that stepped in America, I'm in a different world!

She chuckled and picked up her books that scattered across the sidewalk, placing them back in a bag near her flank. The alicorn placed a hoof on my shoulder, allowing me to rise "It's alright. You seem new, what's your name?"

I gulped down a chunk of nervousness, what if she thinks my name is human like and sends me to a hospital? Do they even have hospitals here for crazy horses?!

"L-Lee..." I spoke, pulling on the nervousness and replacing it with a proud steady voice "... Lee King."

This stranger of royalty tilted her head "Lee King? That sounds really... normal for a pony. Were you raised in one of the cities?" She seemed really fascinated in just my name, what an egghead.

I shook my head "I come from um ..." I felt like I was sweating just by thinking how she would react, I sighed and looked at her "I'm from America."

What if she knows what America is?! What if she could get me back... what if they hate humans?! What if!--

"America?" She questioned

I nodded in response, biting my tongue.

The purple horse stayed silent for a moment and began to ponder, thinking about place after place I suppose, America didn't come to mind for her.

"Don't know about it."

I sighed in relief, thank the holy heaven above!

She slowly looked to the side of me, seeing I was carrying a bag of food. The alicorn proceeded to speak, "You're homeless?"

I didn't know what to say at this point, I stuttered for a moment but caught my breath and nodded "Yeah. I am."

Nothing but a hum came from her lips, she nodded and perked her ears "Well. You seem intelligent enough, I could use some help around the castle if you want to come along."

What did she think me as? A personal slave for royalty? But I mean as long as it was warm, had food and I had a nice bed to sleep in then count me in!

We began to make our way to her home, talking about educational subjects and books, I even began to tell her about my life as a police "pony" since I couldn't use man. She was a elegant piece of royalty,

Twilight sparkle was the name...
