School
The New Girl
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI started to hum as I waited for the bus and today, I'm starting middle school! Graduation from elementary was hectic, but I managed to graduate!
The middle school I was going to attend this year was still the same school as I attended in kindergarten and elementary but the only difference is that it's middle school.
The bus pulled up and honked. I hopped inside and waved at the bus driver. "Dawn" was his name. I mean, that's what was written in his name tag. He smiled and waved back. As I went deeper into the bus, I saw new students I never seen before. I gulped in nervousness.
I was looking for a open seat when someone called out to me.
"Featherweight! Over here!"
I turned around to see Applebloom, Sweetie Bell, and Scootaloo waving at me. I grinned and went to where they were. Apparently they saved me a seat. I plopped right down beside them.
"Hey guys! How was summer?" I asked getting comfortable with my seat.
Applebloom smiled and answered,
"Summer was awesome. Me and my family went to visit some family. Although my slippers were swept in the tide." She frowned.
I giggled while Sweetie Bell and Scootaloo tried so hard not to burst with laughter.
"Hey! Its not funny! Grant got really mad at me and I had to buy new slippers. With my own allowance!" Applebloom fumed.
I stopped laughing and gently patted her in the shoulder.
"Sorry to hear that. Don't worry, at least now you learned your lesson."
She grinned.
"Thanks Featherweight."
I turned to the other two.
"What about you guys?"
"Sweetie Bell and I practically spent our summer indoors playing video games." Scootaloo said with a smile.
She and Sweetie Bell high-fived. The three looked at me.
"How about you, Featherweight?"
I looked down at my feet.
"I um...I went to London…" They practically just stared at me with mouths wide open but no words came out for a few seconds.
"London?! Featherweight, that's amazing!" they shouted in unison.
"Shhh!" I whispered. "Not so loud. Remember, we're not the only ones in the bus."
They nodded and chuckled lightly. I took out my camera which I bring just about anywhere. Photography was something I loved to do. The camera was gray with a white strap and case. Mom wanted me to buy the green one but green is not really the type of color.
"Wanna see some pictures?" I asked.
"Sure! Why not?" They said and went closer to the camera.
I opened it and we browsed through the pictures. The Eifel Tower, the fountains, some bread shops and cafes we passed by and the hotel we slept at.
"Hey Featherweight, bring it back one picture please. I think you passed something." Scootaloo said.
I nodded and went back. It was a picture of me in front of the Eifel tower with my brown and gray outfit and my black hat. I quickly closed the camera and stuffed it back in my bag.
"H-hey! What the heck, Feathers!?" Sweetie Bell asked shocked. She calls me that sometimes.
"Yes! It was a cute photo too." Scootaloo agreed.
I shook my head.
"N-no it isn't! And besides, that was just a pictorial picture my mom requested. She bought that outfit and told me to wear it so she can picture me. I didn't want to but she bribed me with taking me to my favorite place if I did what she asked!"
They all laughed. "You were bribed with food? That's hilarious, featherweight!" Sweetie Bell said.
The bus stopped. It seemed to pick up another student. I don't know why I was curious to look, but the student somewhat looked familiar. She had brownish blond hair and looked sort of cute. She saw me staring and stared back. I didn't know why but for some reason, I slightly blushed. She seemed to also blush but hid it by turning her head away and sat down to the chair behind us. As much as I wanted to look back, I felt sort of embarrassed. I turned back to see the her a few others talking although I didn't hear what they said. The bus was nearing school and it was off to a good start.
The bus entered the school gates and we all went down. I searched for the girl I saw at the bus but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Featherweight! What are you doing way over there?" C'mon, let's look at the class board. We'll see if were classmates or not." Applebloom said and pulled me with her to the board.
There were a bunch of students already there looking at the board. Some of witch I recognized and some I didn't. I searched for my name along the board.
"Class 261…class 262…ah, there it is." Sweetie Bell said as she found her name.
"Wow." I said to myself. But apparently I spoke that loud enough for Applebloom to hear.
"Huh? Something wrong, Featherweight?" she asked.
I shook my head.
"Nah. It's nothing. I just noticed that almost all of our classmates this year were our classmates in Forth and Fifth grade are here as well." I replied.
"Well, that's okay. At least we're here with you." she playfully poked my shoulder.
I grinned and poked her back. Huh…Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are here as well... Those two didn't speak to me very much back then. Well, I guess that's not completely true. Diamond Tiara was the worst of the two since she always made fun of me back and did the same thing to everyone else. And then theirs Silver Spoon who just agreed with whatever she said and kind of worshipped her like a goddess. But I was pretty sure she were just doing that to not be on the receiving end of the insults since, I had to admit, D.T was for the most part untouchable. I heard a rumour that she dated all a few boys but dumped all of them. I think she's currently single although I didn't know for sure. All I can say for the poor guy is good luck.
For the most part, everyone I knew from Fourth grade were people I knew except for that one girl. She looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on her name. I wanted to ask but I was sure to be made fun of if she was someone I was suppose to remember.
Me, Applebloom, Sweetie Bell and Scootloo went to look for our classroom. "Class 263…this one?" Applebloom asked as she opened the door.
There were already some kids inside and they were chatting as if they already knew each other. I wasn't very good with crowds so I subconsciously grabbed the sleeve of Scootloo's shirt. She noticed this and laughed.
"It's okay, Featherweight. They're just people. They won't bite. Besides, we're here if anything happens." She teased and patted me on the shoulder.
I nervously nodded and slowly let go of her sleeve. I saw D.T chatting with some other kids along with Silver Spoon. D.T seemed to be twirling around. Probably showing off her new dress. They seemed to get along well.
"Featherweight! Oh my gosh, is that really you?!" A voice shouted.
I turned around to see a girl running towards me full speed. Before I could react, the girl nearly squeezed me to death by hugging me.
"Wha—I—who?" I nearly fell off balance with the weight.
She let go and regained her poster.
"Awww Featherweight, doesn't remember me! You really forgot who I am? It's me Twist! From Forth grade remember?"
I blinked slowly trying to sum up the information.
"Ah! It really is you! Oh my gosh, you look so different!" I gasped looking at her.
Not only was she much taller and sportier looking than before, but she wore her hair in a high ponytail and wore a red t-shirt with some blue skinny jeans and a nice pair of sneakers. She looked so pretty and she wasn't wearing her glasses either. The thought made me giggle a little. She also didn't have her braces anymore.
"Of course I look different, silly! Were in middle school now. You certainly look the same though. Except now you have glasses. But you look much much MUCH more mature!" She giggled.
Applebloom nodded.
"She's right! You look much more mature Featherweight! Especially with the glasses." She winked.
I blushed.
"T-thank you guys. That's real sweet of you. B-but hey! You guys look really cute too!" I said not wanting to be rude.
"Thanks!" Twist said with a smile.
While they talked, I was looking around. It seemed as if the teacher still wasn't here. I hope it isn't a scary teacher unlike last year...
"Well, well, well…if it isn't Feathers." A bratty voice from behind me said.
I turned around to see Diamond Tiara smiling like a spoiled brat.
"That's Featherweight to you, Diamond Tiara. You ALWAYS forget my name! Why can't you get it through your thick skull, huh?" I snapped back.
She frowned at that. "As if you weren't any better, Feathers. Still as ugly as ever."
"Hey! Back off, Diamond Tiara. It's no use saying that to him. He's too mature to be ugly unlike yourself." Twist said coming to my aid.
"Yeah back off. Or do you want to have trouble on the first day of class?" Scottaloo warned.
Diamond Tiara frowned at me and stomped away going back to her circle.
"You okay, Featherweight?" Applebloom asked me.
I nodded.
"Yeah I'm fine. I've dealt with worse." "C'mon, let's just take our seats."
Our chairs had names on them to tell who sits where. Apparently, I sat next to Twist with Applebloom and Sweetie Bell just behind us.
All of the students took their seats while waiting for the teacher. The chair beside me though was still empty.
"Is someone late or something?" I thought as I stared at it.
I didn't know who was going to be my new seatmate but that was the least of my concerns.
After waiting for 10 minutes or something, a woman came rushing through the door. She looked young around twenty-ish and had short blue curly hair tied in a messy ponytail. She had lots of books and papers in her arms and seemed to be out of breath.
"Oh gosh! I'm soooo sorry class! I woke up late, then I had to feed my cats, then I tripped on the way here so I had to go to the clinic! I'm so so sooooo sorry!" she bowed her head, really ashamed of herself.
"That's all right, teach! At least you came right?" Sweetie Bell teased. The whole class laughed, even Diamond Tiara.
"A-ah…haha thank you. Now, let me introduce myself. My name is Coco Pommel. But, I want you kids to call me Ms. Pommel." She said, smirking.
The whole class nodded.
"Good. Oh..um... Uh…" She looked at a piece of paper. "Ah yes, Featherweight?"
"Yes, ma'am?" I asked.
"Who is sitting next to you?" she pointed to the empty chair.
"I'm sorry ma'am. I don't know." I said.
"Hmm, that's weird. The chairs here are supposed to fit the number of students." She frowned.
Then all of a sudden, there was a knock on the door. Ms.Pommel turned her head to the door's direction.
"Oh? Who could that be?"
She went near the door and opened it. We didn't see who she was talking to but it seems like that someone had something to do with our class.
"Hmm, OK. I see. OK. That's fine. Uh huh, yes. Okay, thank you." Ms. Pommel said.
I stretched my neck a little to see who she was talking to. I saw from the looks of it, the principal. I gulped. I never got into any kind of trouble or anything. It's just, ever since my kindergarten years, I've always heard what happens if you get sent to the principal's office. It uh…didn't go out so well. And also, from the looks of it, it seems as if he has a student with him. I couldn't really see the student so I didn't know if it was a boy or a girl.
Ms. Pommel opened the door and let the student in. I gasped. It…It was her! The girl from the bus!
