Ending The Pain

I opened the door to my house. As I swung the door open, the creaking hinges echoed through the dimly lit hallway. I stepped inside, the familiar scent of aged wood and dust filling my nostrils.

The house was quiet, save for the soft ticking of an old grandfather clock in the living room. I closed the door behind me, the latch clicking firmly into place.

I made my way down the hallway, my footsteps echoing through the room. The air was heavy with the weight of my decision. I walked into the kitchen, grabbing a knife and walked toward the bathroom. I paused outside the door, my hand trembling slightly as I reached for the knob. With a deep breath, I pushed the door open and stepped inside.

I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, the knife clenched tightly in my grasp. I stared at my own reflection, my face pale and drawn, my eyes red-rimmed. The silence around me was almost suffocating, broken only by the steady drip of the leaky faucet and the beating of my heart. I took another deep breath, steeling myself for what I was about to do. I walked up to the bathtub, turned the water on.

I stepped into the bathtub, the cold porcelain biting into my skin. I sat down, the water still running, filling the tub. I looked down at the knife in my hoof, the blade glinting under the harsh fluorescent light. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, a mixture of fear and anticipation coursing through my veins. I took a deep breath, and with a trembling hand, I pressed the blade against my wrist.

I heard a knock at my door, frantic.

"Script, are you home? I need to talk to you."

I jerked my head toward the bathroom door, my heart skipping a beat. I recognized the voice - it was Ellie. I turned back to my hoof, pressing the blade into my skin.

"Script, Lily told me everything. Please, let me in..."

Ellie's muffled voice, thick with tears, carried through the bathroom door. "Please, I don't want you to do this. We can talk about it. I... I can help you." My hoof shook, the knife still pressed against my skin. A thin red line began to form, blood trickling down my hoof. Ellie's continued knocking was like a distant echo, and I could feel her presence on the other side of the door.

I hesitated, the knife poised at my hoof. Ellie's desperate knocking and pleading filtered through the door, a stark contrast to the cold, detached part of me that wanted to end the pain.

"Script, please," Ellie called out, her voice cracking with emotion. "Don't do this. I know you're hurting, but we can get through this together. I... I care about you."

"You are all better off without me here..." I sob as I slide the blade across my hoof as I cried out in pain.

I can hear Ellie's muffled gasp, her desperation turning to panic. "Script, no!" she cries out, her voice shaking. "Please, don't do this. You're not alone, you don't have to do this." The door rattles as she tries to force it open, but I've locked it from the inside.

"I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough, Ellie..." I whimper as I slash my other hoof harder than I did with the other one.

I let out a scream, feeling the blade slice open my skin and muscles. Blood flows freely now, staining the white porcelain of the bathtub crimson. My vision blurs, the pain and blood loss taking their toll. I hear Ellie's voice, now more distant, as I drift away.

"Oh, no! Script, no!" Ellie shouts, her voice frantic and laced with panic. She pounds on the door with increasing urgency, the wood groaning under the force of her claws.

I heard Ellie's desperate pounding and pleading from the other side of the bathroom door, but I felt too weak to respond. My vision blurred, the pain from the deep cuts in my hooves throbbing. I could feel the warm blood flowing freely from the wounds, staining the porcelain of the bathtub a deep, dark red.

"Script, please! Let me in, I'm begging you!" Ellie cried out, her voice cracking with anguish.

I could hear her claws scraping against the wood as she tried to force the door open, but the lock held firm. "I care, Script! You're not alone in this, I'm here for you!" Her words were laced with desperation and a raw, unbridled emotion that I had never heard from her before. I felt my strength ebbing away, the blood loss and trauma taking their toll.

My head slumped forward, eyes closing as unconsciousness crept over me. Through the haze of pain and darkness, I dimly heard the sound of something heavy being moved, followed by a loud crash. The next thing I was aware of was bright lights and a flurry of movement around me.
