Dinner's ready!" I heard a pony call from the farm house. "Coming Ma!" I yelled back. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue My eyes opened. My head throbbed with pain, it felt like I had been hit with something. Where am I? I thought as I took in my surroundings. I was in a dark room that smelled like mold and must, almost as if nopony had been there for a long time. I tried to move my legs but I couldn’t. I was chained to the wall. The metal chains made a clinking noise as I relaxed my muscles. Panic started to flood my mind. “Is anypony there?” I yelled. There was no response. Only the quiet pitter patter of dripping water in the far corner broke the silence. I pulled on the chains again but it was no use, they were too thick. Suddenly I heard the sound of a large metal door opening. A light flooded the room and a pony stepped through the open door way. “Look who’s awake! It’s about time.” the mysterious pony said. “Who are you? Where am I?” I asked. “How do you not remember where you are?” he asked sarcastically. What is he talking about? I thought. Then it hit me like a slap across the face. I was in Celestia’s dungeon. My stomach sunk as I remembered the recent events that had gotten me here. “Does what you did really mean that little to you? That you can just forget?! Ponies like you make me sick.” he spat with a sudden flare of anger. I only stared at him with blank eyes. He was right, of course. How could I have forgotten? I opened my mouth as if to speak but nothing came out. “Well here’s your meal,” he said as he placed a tray in front of me, “enjoy the rest of your pathetic, worthless life.” He turned and headed to the door. Right before he went through it he briefly stopped and shot me a disgusted look. Then he walked through the door and left. It slammed shut behind him, leaving me in darkness with only my thoughts to ponder. My eyes welled up. How did it get to this point? When did I cross the line? I just wanted a better life for my family… I thought. A tear ran down my cheek, paving a road for others to follow. I looked up at the stone ceiling and thought back to when I was just a little filly. Where did I go wrong? I asked myself, tears were streaming out of my eyes. I began to cry. My sobs echoed around the room, as if even the walls didn’t want to hear my well deserved sadness and would just deflect the sound away. I needed to answer my question. Where did I make my fatal mistake? My life started to play back in my mind.
