Rainbow Dash couldn't make it, since she, in her own words, said "I'm not going to some dumb egghead speech. The new Daring Do book just came out!" That miffed Twilight quite a bit, but at least Dash was doing something productive. Rarity couldn't make it either, but she had to finish a wedding dress for a very important client of hers. Twilight was a bit more understanding of that. "We believe in you, Twi. Ya'll can do it, sure as the Apple family bucks apples," Applejack said, sensing Twilight's nervousness. "Yeah, Twilight! You ca-" The signaling buzzer went off, cutting Pinkie off and notifying Twilight that it was 6:00 PM. "Now is the time. You can do this, Twilight!" she whispered to herself in an attempt to calm the butterflies fiercely attacking her stomach as she prepared to walk onto the stage to give her speech. Twilight nervously walked onto the stage. "Hello, everypony. M-my name is T.... Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, but today I wish to talk to you about something more vast, something that is nearly more important than even friendship, o-or magic," she begun slowly with a very unprofessional stutter to her dialogue. 'Dammit, Twilight, get it together! This is the most important speech you will ever give, in your life! Like dad always said, go big or go home!' she thought. That small, but significant, burst of confidence was all she needed. She begun again, this time without stuttering. "Space. It is called the final frontier, the end of everything, of all. The very last point in our massive known universe, and we have based our every ideal on it's vastness. Is it really the end, or is it just a small, insignificant cornerstone to something much greater? Is the vast expanse beyond the sun, the moon, the planets and stars really all that there is to life? What is life? What is the meaning of life? I ask you all to ponder those questions while I continue. Our very own, glorious Princess Luna has seen past our knowledge of space, to different realms occurring past the moon, and past our planet." Twilight paused briefly to take a very well deserved breath before continuing. "Most of us, if not all of us have thought that space was truly the end, but what of the dreamscape, where Luna ventures nightly? What of Earth, the land explored by few equines? What else could be out there, past our little sphere of rock, dirt and water drifting forlornly in space? What distant, amazing realms has equine kind yet to traverse, and what magics would it take to reach them? Let us just sit a minute, and think." Twilight may have been standing, but that simple paragraph was all Twilight needed to knock everyone down. She waited a few short seconds to let the audience take in her speech, and of course think of a few questions. "Now is the time for questions," Twilight Sparkle finished, marking the end of the first third of her long yet interesting speech. 'Nearly there,' she thought. ' Just have to get through a Q and A.' "How vast really is space? Is it infinite? Is it bordered? Or is it a mix of the two, ending in places, but only just beginning in others?" asked a noble looking stallion seated in the back row. Twilight had memorized the location of every seat, and its occupant. Filthy Rich was attending her speech? And could give a question that even she might not ask? She shook it off, though. Thinking for a quick moment, Twilight responded, "It is unknown just how deep space may be, but the distance is incomprehensible, even by our wonderful rulers, Celestia and Luna, over the course of their many, many years. If it was not bordered, then what do you think? Would it just stretch endlessly, or loop back, taking you to where you had begun? How long would it take to reach that distance? On the other hoof, if it were bordered, and if anypony were to ever be able to travel to the ends of our dimension, I doubt they would find anything different, or maybe they would. Just a small difference, or something so large, like another world just like our own, where Equestria is known as, let's say, America, and it is ruled by hairless apes. Perhaps all of space, dimension, and time is linked? Maybe every other world out there, each feasibly or not different dimension, is just at different a different edge of the cosmos. Maybe we are all just a figment of another world, or maybe if you traveled to the end of space, you might find different realities. Ponder that for a moment," Twilight answered. The stallion, once feeling as if he knew as much information as equinely possible, felt like a young colt again, just discovering multiplication. Scene - "And that is all the time we have for now. I hope you all have enjoyed the presentation thus far. Shortly, the second part of the presentation shall begin," finished Twilight. As she trotted behind the curtain to take a short breather, she let loose a deep sigh of relief. Walking up next to her, Spike began, "you did great out there, Twilight! You completely killed it!" With a quick thanks, Twilight hurried to the near refrigerator to get a nice, refreshing drink of water and a cold chocolate coated hay bar. Her friends trotted up to her. "Great job Twilight! I knew you would do great! Maybe.. Ooh! Maybe we should throw a party!" Pinkie said. "Hold on now, sugarcube. Twilight's not done jus' yet." Applejack responded. "Thanks for the support, girls. I was so nervous, but all I had to do was concentrate," spoke Twilight. A loud, obnoxious buzzer sounded in the background, signaling that the break was over. 'Well,' Twilight thought, 'time for part two.' Author's Note I hope you guys liked this, just an idea I got while reading a parody of my first story, Fall.
