Epilogue: Cubilulum Album (The white bedroom)

“And that was the last time I saw the greatest pony to ever live... and my best friend.”

Violet grabbed her ashen bow with her hoof that was now void of the TCD and used it to support herself as she looked at her audience of two. “Any more questions... Kiubee, Cassy?”

“So... the angel I saw... was actually a god?” Cassy asked.

“She is... a young pony like you and me. But yes, you could call her a god.”

Cassy, a pony of floralwhite coat about the age of Violet, slowly got up. “So, you have fought witches for all your life, and not wraiths?”

Violet scoffed. “In my memories, yes; but don't forget my life didn't begin only once I regained my memories. I have fought a few wraiths myself... Though not nearly as many as you must have by now.”

“We always thought that wraiths were manifestations of some evil emotion or energy... but if what you say is true, then couldn't wraiths be something connected to Rose? And the energy we harvest from them for our Soul Gem?”

Violet shook her head. “Who knows.”

Meanwhile, Kiubee looked like he was about to leave.

“Incubator, where do you think you are going after I told you all this?”

“You were correct. There is no way we could believe such a story. For one simple reason: we would never act so cruelly to our friends, the ponies. And stop calling me that.” With this, Kiubee hopped down the hillside.

Violet let out a sigh. “Listen, Cassy. We are the only two ponies who know of her existence and I have to bring her back. I swore to see Rose through this to a future where she would be happy, and this is not it. I think there must be a reason why she showed herself to you, but you haven't really told me anything about yourself yet.”

Cassy tried to avert her face while putting on a look of shame.

Violet chased after her line of sight. “I have often heard other ponies tell me that I had the look of someone who had given up. I don't think that is the look that I see on your face, but there is something similar in there...”

“It's... not a very bright story. I might act all mature and serious now, but... that's not really me.” Cassy choked for a second and had to blink back a tear.

“It's okay, don't push yourself.”

“No, I will tell you my story. I have to. I care deeply for my friends, and I want their stories told. My friendship with them might not have been as great as yours, but they were still my friends.”

“Not as great as mine? How do you know?”

Cassy pointed towards Violet's mane. “That is all the proof I need.”

Atop Violet's head sat two red ribbons, neatly tied.
