Chapter Four: The Costume Party

When the next morning finally came we both seemed to wake up at the same time. “Morning sleepyhead,”

Sunset smiling. “The same goes for you too,” I said.

“Yeah, I guess that you’re right, but did you have a good night’s sleep?”

“After what happened yesterday I think that I had the best night’s sleep,” I said.

“Oh, well okay then, fine, because I also had the best night’s sleep too,” she said.

“But aren’t you the person that enjoys the daylight hours instead?” I said.

“It always only depends upon the time and day for that Twilight,” she said.

“Well I guess that’s true, but I’m hungry now and breakfast won’t cook itself,” I said slowly getting up from

the bed and started to get my clothes on now.

“Ah, the saddest part of anything that must end, always putting the clothes back on, but I don’t even see

why we should bother anymore,” Sunset said now.

“Well I don’t know about you, but I actually plan on going somewhere today, and besides, yesterday was

kind of an unplanned and unexpected thing of chance and luck even if I don’t really believe in either of those things,” I said.

“Well, where were you planning to go exactly?” Sunset said smiling as got up from the bed and now stood

fully naked in front of me now then.

“Well there was this costume party thing later on this week and I was thinking that we could go to it, and I

also wanted to go tell our friends about us now.”

“Ah, okay then, fine,” Sunset said starting to put on her own clothes now then, “But why can’t we just call our friends and tell them about us?”

“I would rather do it in person, besides, I have a very fun day planned out for us,” I said smiling as I finished putting all of my clothes on now then.

“Well if it was anything like yesterday I’m really looking forward to it.”

“Of course you would be, but I don’t know or think that it’ll end quite the same.”

“Well I don’t mind that so long as we’re both together now,” she said smiling now.

“The plan for today is art stuff and things with a few museums,” I said.

“Oh, well that’s okay and fine I guess,” Sunset said now then.

“Time to go now if you’re ready I guess,” I said now then.

“Well I guess that I am ready then, the sooner that we can do stuff together.”

And with that said we went around the city to the museums first doing what I wanted and then what she

wanted next, and it was quite a lovely day indeed.

After that I couldn’t wait until Saturday to come again for the costume party.

I already knew what I was going to be, but Sunset didn’t and we had to try many various random things on

her at Rarity’s house and we eventually found one that was just perfect for her, but we didn’t get the chance to tell any of our friends about our relationship now, but we decided to tell all of them at the party

on Saturday since they all had agreed to be there previously beforehand now then.

When Saturday finally came I slowly got into my costume and waited for Sunset to change into hers, “Hey

are you ready yet? It’s going to start very soon now.”

“I’m ready now,” she said stepping out with her costume and then spinning around to show it off, “So what

do you think about this? Is it perfect?”

“Wow, you do look just perfect and amazing and awesome and cool,” I said staring at the red, yellow, and

orange wings that were attached to her shoulders that made her look like she was a bird on fire now, or a

phoenix basically.

“So do you too,” she said looking at me, “Okay then, let’s go now.”

And with that said we smiled and left for the costume party now then.

When we finally got there we saw all of our friends waiting at the doors for us.

“Well hello there, darlings,” Rarity said, “You both look so lovely right now.”

“Thanks a lot, but you look very lovely too,” we both said now then.

“Thanks a lot, but anyone who’s in my costume designs is bound to look very lovely, but when you came to

my shop you said you wanted to talk with us now?”

“Yes, we have something very important to tell all of you right now,” I said.

“Oh! Exciting what is it exactly?” Pinkie Pie said jumping up and down now then.

“Well me and Sunset, we’re in love, and we’re also dating,” I said smiling now then. “Oh,” Fluttershy

said, “That’s great, I’m so happy for you both.”

“Wow, that’s surprising, but I’m also very happy for you too,” Applejack said now then. “Oh, that’s so

exciting!” Pinkie Pie said continuing to bounce up and down now then. “Well, I’m shocked, but if you two

are happy then so am I,” Rarity said now then. “Thanks a lot for the support, it means a lot to us both now.

“Yeah, well I think that the party’s starting right now!’ Pinkie Pie shouted very loudly now then. And with

that said they all went in and mingled and danced around then now. But as we did I noticed a girl with a

futuristic and modern looking suit that obscured her face, and it was colored blue, purple, orange and also red too. And she stood apart from the crowd for some reason, but then I finally started to notice why, it

was because they had a device around their neck that looked very similar to one that I had designed to collect magic now then.

I decided to start heading towards her, but as I did she tried to avoid me, and I both felt and sensed that

something was not right about them, it was very wrong now instead then, and I wanted to try to see who she was now then by getting closer and perhaps maybe even cornering her. But she managed to avoid me

very carefully, but I still also managed to stay very close behind her as I chased her now then. “Stop!” I

shouted as she ran outside up to the roof of the building now then. But she didn’t, but as I ran I heard

Sunset come from behind me now then.

“Twilight?” she said coming after me now then, “Where are you going exactly?”

“After someone!” I shouted back as I climbed the stairs after them and then finally I managed to see that

she was cornered in top of the roof now then.

“It’s over,” I said, “You have nowhere else to run, so show yourself right now please, now then take off your

helmet very slowly and don’t make any sudden moves because I know things that you can’t ever dream or think about.”

“So do I,” the girl said taking off her helmet very slowly, and then I was very shocked and surprised to see

the face of Sunset Shimmer staring back at me now then. “Sunset? Is that really you? But how?” I said now then.

“I’m not your Sunset Shimmer, and the name’s Summer Mirage, your Sunset is still back at the dance, and

she doesn’t know anything about us just like you.”

“Actually I’m right here,” Sunset said from right behind me now then.

“Who are you and what do you want from us exactly?” I said now then.

“I’m no one really important, but what I want is knowledge, to determine if you were safe or dangerous,

and now I know that you’re safe, for now that is.”

“Wait, why did you want to know if we were safe or dangerous?”

“For my agency of course, Team Harmony or Project Sunlight on Mission Solace, but who we are and what

we want, well you don’t need to know that right now.”

“Okay then, fine, alright, keep your secrets, but tell me this, why now?”

“After the last few events with magic we decided it would be better if we acted sooner now rather than

later, now then if you’ll excuse me I have a ride to catch,” she said as a helicopter suddenly came up and

then she jumped inside of it now then. “What the hell?” I said as it took off into the air right now then.

“Sorry girls, maybe I’ll send you a letter explaining all of this, but for now I’m just going to have to leave you in the dark, but I think that we might see each other very soon again, so you better keep an eye out, catch

you later I guess.”

And with that said she went away leaving us in mystery now then.

“What the fuck was that?” Sunset said watching the sky now.

“I don’t know, but I have a feeling that this might not be over just yet.”

“Yeah, but let’s not worry about her just now yet, let’s just go back to the party now, okay?” Sunset said

coming over to me and taking my hands now then.

And with that said I smiled and let her lead me back to the party and we enjoyed ourselves, but the subject matter of the human Sunset Shimmer who was named Summer Mirage still bothered me and lingered in my mind no matter what I tried to do or what else happened now then. Why had she decided to show and reveal herself now? Was that part of her orders? What was Team Harmony and Project Sunlight? Was there more to her mission that we didn’t know about?

What more was there that we didn’t know about?

These and many more questions filled my mind, but I pushed them aside as I slowly danced with Sunset

and let the music and party distract my mind.
