A Lightning Storm

"Well... we... Got a little drunk" I said, slowly

"Did you ever think that you might not have had these feelings before you got drunk?" She asked,

"For Celestia's sake Octavia!" I said, "I know my feelings"

"Where did he even come from?" She asked, glaring at him

"He's Celestia's Son!" I said with a grin,

"What?" she said amazed "Really?"

"Not completely, I'm adopted, My mother had left me under her care" Mirage said,

"No wonder, your obviously trouble" she said,

"Hey!" I yelled at her,

Mirage must have taken that the worst way because he had his eyes closed while looking towards the ground, with a look of sadness on his face,

I put my hoof on his shoulder, "It's okay"

I glared at Octavia, and mouthed the word "Really?"

When I looked back at Mirage the Sadness had disappeared and been replaced by Anger,

"Hey, hey, It's okay she didn't mean it" I said to him,

Mirage:

"I'm Not Afraid Of The Dark Mommy" I said to my mother, she had looked down at me, I was still a Filly, we were looking at a black door

"He's in there Mirage" she said, in a scared voice,

"I'm Not Afraid Of The Dark"

"I am the darkness Mirage" The door said,

Purple electricity built around his body and he levitated into the air without his wings, A low growl emanated from his mouth, His eyes opened revealing them to be blood red instead of the normal purple, his lightning now taking the color of his eyes, along with any purple color on his body, I've seen him do something like this before but never changing his color, he'd been in numerous fights over me being insulted, but never himself, but no pony had ever insulted him about his mother, it was just plain wrong.

He backed up and went for a dash towards Octavia, who was still in the doorway staring up at Mirage. I caught him with my magic and started to sap his energy like I had done twice before, the first time was challenging but the second was easy, this was something else, this wasn't Mirage this was a beast that was locked down deep inside but was finally let out, it was his father, I had heard numerous stories about him and how he tried to kill Mirage's mother while giving birth because he was so close to his destiny, The legend also said that he had possessed his only son with his soul, and he was unleashed, just like that.

He was incredibly strong, with so much power that he inched closer and closer towards Octavia, who stood watching in horror, Mirage's color started to come back in the tail but I needed to move faster, He was close to Octavia, I focused all of my magic on Mirage seeing the color return in his eyes relived me, his mane, tail, Electricity, and mind turned back to normal.

"What the?" he said, seeing himself levitating off of the ground

"Oh my bad" I said as I put him on the ground and let him go

"Sorry Octavia" he said, seeing her facial expression and walking out of the room

"Wha?" Octavia said, shaking

I walked over to Octavia, "Don't EVER speak of his mother again got it?"

She nodded her head in reply, still shocked at what just happened

"Good" I said, as chased after Mirage

"And he just flew off" I had finished explaining what happened to Mirage to Rainbow Dash, "Could you give me a lift?"

"Yeah sure... but you wont be able to walk on the clouds of his house" she said,

"I cast a cloud walking spell" I said, feeling prepared

"Alright then" Rainbow said, "Off to the house!"

As we ascended into the air I thought about what he could do, I was worried for him and Rainbow Dash must have noticed,

"Hey cheer up! I'm sure he'll be fine!" she shouted over the wind,

"I hope so..." I mumbled

"So, you guys are dating?" Rainbow asked,

"Yeah since this morning" I said

"That's great Vinyl!" Rainbow said enthusiastically, "How is he?"

"What do you mean?" I asked,

"What do you like about him?" she said,

"Well... we've been friends for as long as I can remember, he has great taste in music and he'd always stick up for me, he isn't afraid to get his hooves dirty" I said, "and... his eyes"

"What about his eyes?" she asked,

"I dunno, they've always looked special in someway, that was the first thing that I noticed about him"

"hmm" Rainbow said, "What kinda music does he like?"

"Like, Dubstep and Electro" I said, "Why are you asking all these questions?"

"Oh, no reason" Rainbow said, "Just, uh... curious"

"Are you sure-"

"We're here!" Rainbow yelled,

The house was made of black, thunderclouds, we heard shattering and smashing from inside of the house so we knocked on the door loudly,

"Go away!" Mirage yelled from inside

"Mirage! It's me!" I yelled, "Please open the door!"

Silence

"I'm Breaking it down" I said to Rainbow Dash,

"What? really?" She gasped,

"Yup" I said ramming my body into the door,

It flung open and I landed on the cloud with a poof

When I got to my hooves I saw what used to be a house, smashed glass on the ground, dressers flipped over a couch ripped to pieces, We ran into his bedroom to witness him punching a window out,

"Mirage!" I yelled, tackling him to the ground pinning him down,

"Don't get near me! I'm a MONSTER!!!" He cried out, tears streaming down his face,

It hurt to see him like this, it felt like we'd been dating since we met, I couldn't stand to see him hurt

"You are NOT a monster Mirage" I said,

"Than what am i?" He asked, looking up with teary eyes

"...Your Mine..." I said as I nuzzled his neck,

"I just tried to attack your roommate! why would you want me as a coltfriend anymore?" he said sadly,

"It wasn't your fault!" I said, angrily

"But it was still me!" he said, "I cant put up a fight against my father!"

"Yes you can!" I yelled at him,

"Rainbow can you leave us alone for a minute?" I asked, turning towards her

"Yeah, sure" she said, as she walked out of the room,

I turned my attention back to Mirage who was staring up at me,

"Now, c'mere" I said as I leaned down kissing him,

I stayed there for a long time, I didn't really want it to end, I was starting my own tears now, they fell onto his cheeks from mine,

"don't cry" he said, "it's okay... shh shh shh..."

His arms were wrapped around me, one hoof of his was bleeding, I could feel it on my back, we weren't kissing anymore just holding each other, my head resting on his shoulder, this stallion that I had right here, was the kindest pony I had ever met, he wasn't going to let go, we flew back to the house with me in his arms, Rainbow Dash had followed making sure we could both make it, after we got inside I positioned myself differently, now with my legs wrapped around his stomach my arms around his neck, my chin resting on his shoulder and my eyes closed, he managed to walk on just his hind hooves through the house, I saw Octavia sitting in a chair reading the newspaper, she flicked it down to see us, she smiled and nodded her head up and down, I smiled at this, she approved of him, out of fear? I don't know.
