Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Melody are in a loving relationship with the one and only human in Equestria. However, despite the rather normal appearances of the two mares, they both harbor a dark secret that threatens to shatter their relationship. When secrets are revealed and a peaceful vacation takes a turn for the worst, Octavia and Vinyl will have to ask themselves the most important question of their lives, "Who could ever love a monster?"
