//-------------------------------------------------------// The Best There Is -by MetalJrock- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Solo Mission //-------------------------------------------------------// Solo Mission New York Logan coughed loudly, feeling the pain in his stomach subside and knew that his healing factor will fix him up in a moment. He inhaled sharply, his senses kicking back and remembering what he was doing. He could hear faint voices, as though he was being mocked. He always hated being mocked. 'The hell? Where am I?' He opened his eyes under his cowl, seeing that he was tied to a chair. He was unable to move for a moment. But that was all the time he needed. He remembered what knocked him out cold. 'Tear gas. Explains why I went out cold.' Logan saw four people standing in front of him. All having smug looks on their faces. Each of them held a weapon. "Look at that. We managed to catch ourselves a hero." one of them boasted, punching Logan in the face. The mutant merely moved his face to the side, choosing not to reveal his powers yet. "Heh heh. Don't look so tough now, huh?" Instead of talking, Logan merely ripped apart the ropes binding his arms and stretched his limbs. "So... Wanna try that again, bub?" he asked sarcastically, clearly unamused. He rubbed his neck and cheek, the pain felt for a moment now gone. One of them charged after him in anger. In response, Logan merely uppercutted him in the face, kmocking hm back hard onto the floor with a thud. He then was shot by someone holding a rifle, making him fall on his back. Logan growled, holding his chest. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, digging his fingers into where he was shot, while the gangsters were looking away. Blood covered his fingertips as he got into the wound and found a bullet and dropped it on the ground, he coughed, feeling the hole cover itself. He pushed himself up after rolling to his stomach. The four turned around, seeing him stand up. Logan rubbed his knuckles and cracked them and his neck, ready for a fight. "Ya oughta do better than that to put me down." he teased. "What the hell are you?" one of the gangsters asked, clearly nervous over seeing the man they just shot in the stomach getting up and the bullet wound healing. Logan smirked, his arms at his sides. His flicked his wrists down and a distinct sound was heard as three metal claws began to reveal themselves from his knuckles. SNIKT! "I'm the Wolverine." With a yell, Wolverine lunged at the man, driving his claws into the stomach of the man as hard as he could. "Grah!" he grunted, removing his claws through his sides, tearing apart his gut. He turned around, feeling bullets pass through his body. He gritted his teeth, more annoyed than in pain. Wolverine slashed his claws at the man shooting at him, cutting off his hand, making him scream in a panic. He tried to use his other hand, but Logan stabbed through his arm and stabbed the man's chest, creating a puddle of blood from contact before yanking the metal appendages from him, creating an even bigger mess. Someone else tried to hit his head with a bat. That only made Logan flinch and face the floor for only a second. He then drove his claws up the man's chin and through his brains, a shocked expression frozen on his face, killing him instantly. "Now, I'm gonna ask ya once again nicely." he threatened the last gangster alive. "Where's the damn kid?" he grabbed him by the collar and slammed his back to a wall. "Unless ya wanna end up like yer pals over there?" he tempted. "What a-are you talking about?" the man asked. Wolverine growled, bringing his fist underneath the man's head. "P-Please don't..." he pleaded. Logan turned around, looking at the blood covering the floor, the dead men and the limb he cut off. "Now... I didn't ask to get drugged by yer annoyin' asses, yet here I am. So, yer either gonna tell me where the kid is." he paused, bringing a claw up on the side of his face, slightly scratching it enough so that blood dripped down his cheek. "Or we're gonna see if you're lucky." he hissed loud enough to be heard. The man raised his hands, "A-Alright! The kid's in the other room! You can take him!" he begged, "But please l-let me live!" Wolverine snarled and scrunched his face, giving the man an angered glare. Without hesitation, he revealed his other claws, stabbing the man right there. Logan sheathed his claws again, seeing the man's body fall to the floor. "Scum." was all the X-Man said before walking away, looking at a reflection of himself in a mirror. He saw that his costume was covered in blood as was his knuckles. 'Chuck said there was a mutant kid here, the scum of this world never cease to amaze me, thinkin' they could just kidnap 'em for their own deeds. They're the kinda people I don't regret takin' from this world. Now, they better hope the kid's still alive. Otherwise, I'll be pissed. And then I'll go after the rest of their gang.' Looking away, Logan found a door and kicked it, removing it from its hinges and sending it flying across the room. There in the bland white room, he saw two things. On a table was a crystal, something which he'd have to take back to the mansion for investigation. And the second, the reason he was here. The kid. He was bound to a chair, and a gag covering his mouth. Wolverine sneered, disgusted at what he was seeing. He walked to the kid and revealed one claw, using it to free the kid's limbs and he gently removed the gag. He heard the child cry and wrapped an arm on his back, calming him. "Yer gonna be fine, kid." he assured, "I'm gonna take ya someplace safe." He saw the child's tears run down his face and respond with a silent nod. "Now. Any reason why these punks would take ya from yer home?" he questioned. "I can h-harness energy... Th-They wanted me to u-use that crystal so they could go anywhere. B-But I only charged it to a set destination, and only one person used it..." "Go anywhere?" Logan repeated. "Hm... Ya said someone already used it. Kid, close yer eyes. I'm gonna take ya outta here first alright?" he assured. The kid did as he told and covered his eyes, Logan eased up knowing the child couldn't see the bloodbath. 'Logan. Did you find the child?' Wolverine heard the elder voice in his head and continued the conversation, 'Yeah. I'm gonna take him outside real quick. He's able to harness energy. Used it to charge some kinda crystal with someone already in wherever it took 'em. I'm gonna head to where it went and follow before things get messier.' 'Very well.' Xavier said, 'I will send Scott to retrieve the child from the police station. Good luck, Logan.' Once they were outside in an alleyway, Logan placed a hand on the kid, telling him to open his eyes. Wolverine spoke, "Now... I want ya to go to the police stayion. A guy named Scott Summers is gonna pick ya up and take ya somewhere where you won't get hurt." "What about you?" the kid asked before running. Wolverine held the crystal, "Ya said someone's used this. I'm gonna go in after 'em." he held the crystal tighter, feeling energy around his body. A moment later, he vanished in a bright light. Equestria "Hey, Twilight." said Spike, walking into the library where the lavender alicorn was reading. Her gaze looked up from the book and her attention was on the dragon. "Yes, Spike?" replied Twilight. "Princess Celestia sent me a letter." he opened up the scroll in his claws. "It said something about a magic surge. Similar to that of a crystal kept hidden in Equestria and to be careful. Do you know what's she's talking about?" Twilight hummed, "I think she's talking about those crystals I read about. But they require a lot of energy to even be used for travel to create an energy surge for her to be concered about. I'll have to look into it soon. Does it say anything else?" "No, I think that's it." The alicorn smiled, "Alright. Thanks, Spike." "No problemo, Twi. Should we get the girls and explain this?" "Soon. Just let me wrap up work around here," Wolverine felt his entire body afloat something. He felt weightless for some reason. But what really concerned him was his inability to breathe. He wheezed as loud as he could. 'Holy shit...' he thought. He pushed his body upwards, finding himself in a pond in a cavern of sorts. He panted, keeping himself afloat as best he could. He started swimming and reached ground. He pushed himself out of the small pond and coughed water out of his lungs, "God damn it..." he exhaled, "Of course I end up in fuckin' water. Nearly drowned." Logan stood up, noticing that the crystal was still in his possession. "Alright. Think I found myself in the wilderness. Again. Egh." he stomped forward, looking at a bunch of wood covering his only exit. He unsheathed his claws and broke apart the old and flimsy wood, making himself an exit. Once he stepped outside, Logan took notice of the forest. "Huh. Looks like home." he snarked. "Now, let's see what scent I'm dealin' with." he sniffed the air, but something was off, "The hell? This is new. Should be able to spot a difference right away, but... Everything I'm sensin' is new." he growled, "Damn crystal took me to another world." Wolverine then walked ahead, "Looks like I'm doin' things the old fashioned way until I figure things out." Back in the cave Logan just exited, all seemed calm. But a noise echoed. It was a splash and something popped out of the water. It was a hand, with three metal claws protruding. A feral scream echoed loudly. Something came out of the pond. //-------------------------------------------------------// New Territory //-------------------------------------------------------// New Territory Logan sniffed the air. "Sunova..." he grunted. "Can't get a clear trace of whoever the hell decided to come 'ere." he muttered to himself, planting a hand on a tree. Wolverine leaned on the bark of the trunk, taking the moment to figure out how to move on. "The fuck kinda place is this anyway? I smell nothin' too bad in the air. No pollution... No drugs... Nothin'." "It's like..." he inhaled, "Ah, forget it. I should probably haul my ass somewhere though." And with that, Wolverine marched on, wondering where the nearest town was at. He heard the sound of water and looked to his left, seeing a moving ravine. Deciding to drink something, Logan walked there, kneeling down and cupping his hands in the slow river. He raised his hands and sipped the water. He then wiped his mouth, "Needed that. Lord knows how long I'm gonna be here..." Logan placed a hand on one knee and the other on the ground, helping himself stand up. He grunted, getting back to his feet. "Let's see where this path takes me." the X-Man told himself, choosing to continue on. "I ain't got nothin' else to do anyhow." Wolverine moved his head left and right, making sure no wild animal was able to catch him off guard. The mutant gritted his teeth at the silence of the forest, feeling that something was wrong. He sniffed again, hoping his senses could track something. "Damn..." he whispered, "Smells more like wood. But there's enough here as it is. Kinda feels like it's gettin' closer though." A roar surprised the X-Man, making him jump back. He raised his fists, ready to face the source of the sound. "Show yourself, bub. I ain't afraid of ya." he threatened. Trembles were felt on the ground, each one getting louder and bigger with each passing second. He took one step forward, positioning himself so that he wouldn't trip. A hand allowed himself to lean on a tree placed next to him, keeping him still as whatever was coming for him was getting closer. 'Well... That's new.' he thought in a snarky manner. Towering over him was a mammal of sorts. But what really confused Logan was that it appeared to be made of wood and stood over him in height. It roared in his face, prompting Wolverine to cover his face from the bramble and leaves being tossed in his direction from the creature's mouth. "Listen here, ya wooden critter. I'm not in a good mood. So either back off, or we'll have to do this the hard way." Logan warned, swiping a hand in a shooing motion. Instead of backing away, the creature lowered itself to roar in the X-Man's face again. Logan gritted his teeth once the loud noise subsided, giving himself a moment to speak. "Tryin' to sound tough... I can respect that." he admitted. The wooden animal lunged a claw in Logan's direction, prompting the mutant to hop backwards, dodging the wooden appendage. He quietly growled. "Hard way it is, bub." he threatened. His flicked his arms down, and that all-too familiar sound echoed through the forest. SNIKT! Wolverine grunted, driving his metal claws into the back of the monster's paw, making it yelp in pain. The creature remained still as Logan drove his other set of claws into the monster's hand. In response, it tried to swipe him away, but the X-Man hopped off, swiping his arms downward, slicing apart the arm, cutting it to pieces. The animal tried to keep itself standing as Wolverine landed on the grass. "Not so tough are ya?" he taunted, raising his adamantium claws once again. It roared in his face again. "Ugh... Of course I could still smell yer breath. It fuckin' reeks of sap." Logan mocked, waving the scent off of him. Wolverine then rolled as the monster used its free limb to smash him down again. The X-Man got to a kneeling position and gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Grah!" he yelled while leaping, drilling his claws into the monster's other paw before jumping again. He flailed his arms left and right, breaking apart the wooden animal's body into mere splinters. Some splinters managed to pick through his costume, giving him only a second of pain to shrug off in response. The animal got smaller with each cut, "Stay down you sunova..." Wolverine muttered. He finally got to the ground once he saw the splinters of the animal refuse to move. "Finally." he told himself, rubbing his knuckles. Then, the pieces started to rumble in their spots. "What the hell?" he asked. The pieces all began to form back together into the wooden creature Wolverine just finished cutting. "So, ready for round two are ya, bub?" he mocked, revealing his claws once more. Lowering its head, the monster sneered at Logan. Wolverine didn't flinch at all, choosing to stand his ground. "Grr..." he snarled, facing the monster and staring it in its glowing eyes. The two stared each other down for a few moments, both of them refusing to move. That is, until the monster ran off in fright. Wolverine could hear its quiet whimpers as it left his view. "That'll teach ya." he sneered, sheathing his claws back into his knuckles. "Now, where the hell am I going now?" he asked himself. "Hm... First I should see if this world even has any towns to stop in." he picked off the splinters and pieces of wood that managed to stick to his flesh and costume before continuing on. And so, Logan, with no other goal in mind, chose to find a nearby town he could take refuge in for the night. The X-Man wandered on, his mind ignoring how annoyingly long it took until he finally found something. He sniffed the air. "Smoke of a fireplace... Treats..." he grumbled the last word, wondering how the two scents correlate. "...And... Horses, but it's... different?" he wondered aloud. With no other option, Wolverine found himself standing on a small cliffside, a small town in the distance. "That oughta be a good place to start, I suppose. The person who came here better hope he didn't do nuthin'. Otherwise, I may just have to teach 'em a lesson." he whispered. Seeing where to go, Logan knelt down, using his claws to climb down the rocky terrain easier. He really didn't feel like having his healing factor used for cliff-jumping again. On the opposite end of the forest was a monster. It was a bipedal creature with lots of hair covering its chest and hair that spiked up like a feral dog and only had a small pair of shorts on. It sprinted in the forest without a care in the world. For some reason, its sense of smell was greatly enhanced and it felt invincible. "Where is it?" The voice got the creature's attention and it sprinted to the left, hiding behind a tree to catch its prey. It saw three ponies wearing explorer's gear, one of them with a horn and a map surrounded by a glowing aura. "The treasure should be a few steps from where we're at!" "I dunno man." another explorer said. "Maybe it's wrong." The creature huffed, a scowl on its face. It stomped out of its hiding spot and revealed itself to the ponies. The three of them jumped back in surprise. "Woah! What are you?" one of them asked, curious as to what is standing there. It huffed and brought its arms down, revealing three metal appendages coming from its knuckles. SNIKT! The feral human stepped forward, a smirk evident on his mouth. "S-Stay back..." the unicorn pleaded. He shot out a beam of magic, creating a burn mark on his chest. The human remained still, feeling the burnt wound close itself in a matter of seconds. He looked down to face the unicorn and drove his claws directly into the top of his head, killing him. "Map Tracker!" one of the other ponies screamed. It tried to punch the monster, but he grabbed his hoof and snapped it, earning a scream. The creature then used his claws to stab him directly in the heart. "N-No..." the last pony whimpered. He only heard the sound of metal slashing before everything went black for him. The monster stood over the bodies of the three ponies, blood covering his hands and chest. It panted, looking at his palms and clenched them into fists. He growled and walked away, leaving the bodies for someone to find. He must kill. It's what he was created to do. //-------------------------------------------------------// Monster //-------------------------------------------------------// Monster Wolverine finally neared the town, 'It's about damn time. Maybe I can finally make some sense as to what I'm dealin' with.' he thought, cracking his knuckles, 'Looks like a simple enough town to stay in fer a night, I suppose.' The X-Man wandered around, hoping to find a place to rest in. After all, even a man of his abilitites needed a rest at some point. He sneered, sniffing the air. 'Horses. Can smell more of 'em. Maybe I'm in some kinda horse ranch city or somethin'.' Looking around, Logan paused, in disbelief over what he was witnessing. He leaned on a wall covered in shadow thanks to another building and he slowly leaned forward to get a better look. Right in front of him was a neon blue horse walking around, sitting in a concession stand of various fruits and waving about to ponies passing. 'Ponies. Of all the freakin' worlds to end up in. I end up in the world of colorful, rainbow ponies.' Wolverine thought, clearly annoyed over his situation. A quiet sigh escaped his lips, 'Just when I thought things couldn't get anymore ridiculous I find myself in some kinda coloring book ponyland. Ugh...' "Hey there, Fruit Keeper!" Logan turned his head again at the sound of the voice and listened in. He heard another voice, "Top of the morning, Ink Quill!" the concession pony spoke and waved back. 'These ponies... They can talk... and they have ridiculous names.' a smirk was seen on Wolverine's face, "Heh. They'd fit in at home." he chuckled darkly to himself. "Gotta keep to myself fer now. The last thing they need is to know somethin' like me." And so, Logan remained in the shadows, hiding behind as many buildings as he could until he could find a place to sneak into. The mutant pursed his lips, wondering when he was going to get an opening from the ponies wandering the streets. He groaned to himself, just wanting to get a move on. He turned his head around the corner, seeing that the area he was in was empty. Wolverine rolled next to the next alleyway, able to keep himself hidden for a little longer. He got to a knee, wondering his next course of action. His tracking abilities unable to key him in as to who was here and where they were at. 'I'm practically runnin' around blind.' he realized in his head, lowering his head for a moment. Footsteps were heard coming in his direction, prompting Wolverine to roll further into the shadows in instinct, keeping himself covered to the naked eye. As he looked to the crowded town, he observed the different features the ponies had on their bodies, and he was able to at least distinguish them apart. 'Some have wings, some have horns, and others have nothin'.' Logan observed, 'Heh. That means they could put up a better fight than I expected. Can't do crap in the air.' he paused, 'Shit. If they have horns and wings, then I'm dealin' with pegasi and unicorns. They have fucking magic. Of course they do!' he groaned in his head, unamused once again now. Turning his head away from the crowd, Wolverine quietly stepped further into the shadows, exploring the town from a different perspective. "One thing's fer sure. Reeks back here." he whispered. "Why couldn't Summers or Colossus come 'ere? Hell, Wade would fit right in. Knew I should've waited." Stopping his complaints, the X-Man found himself able to peek back into the crowded area of the town. The first thing he noticed was that this part of town was emptier than where he was just at, giving him more leeway to roam around. Wolverine rolled into an alleyway across from him, ducking underneath the open window. He was about to move on, but the ponies speaking inside got his attention, and he leaned on the wall, wanting to hear the intruiging conversation. "...I'm just saying, they should've come back from their exploration by now." "I'm sure everything's fine, Book Marker. They're archeologists. These things take time." the other pony replied. There was a small pause between the two before Book Holder spoke again, "Well I'm going to go find them. The Everfree Forest is a dangerous place. I just want to make sure they didn't get hurt, you know what I mean, Time Tracker?" "Of course. Let's head out now." after saying that, Logan heard the door close, making him assume that they left the building. 'Hm. Sounds like those explorers got lost in a forest. That ain't a good sign.' Logan admitted. 'I should probably find 'em before something happens to them and the guys that just left. I'm thinkin' whoever came here is involved.' Logan dived through the window as swift as he could and looked around the small room. "Not a whole lot in here..." he muttered, "All I need is somethin' of theirs in order to follow 'em." he looked at a clock and held it in his hand. His feral senses were unique. By sniffing the clock, he was able to get the pony's scent and was able to follow it. He inhaled again, getting a better sense of where to go. "Bingo. Looks like I'm headin' back to the forest." he told himself, diving out of the window. It was time Wolverine did some hunting. He looked at the empty streets, able to find a clear path for himself to get back to the forest without being spotted. "It's a great day, right Twilight?" asked Spike, nudging an elbow to Twilight's hoof. "Sun is shining, no cloud in the sky, and for once we have nothing to worry about." he sighed. Twilight nodded and giggled, "Yeah, Spike. Honestly, after studying for the past week, I have to admit it's feels great to come outside again." "How about a treat at Sugarcube Corner? I'm starving!" Spike rubbed his stomach as he made his declaration. "Oh man... I wish they had gems there. I could go for some." "Of course you would. Maybe I'll see if I have a stash once we get back to the castle." Twilight assured, the alicorn grinning. "So, let's see Pinkie--" "Monster!" The alicorn and dragon turned around at the scream. It was a voice they recognized. A pink mare hopped around in fright and paused at the sight of her friends, "Oh. Hi Twilight and Spike!" she greeted. "Ah, monster!" another voice called out. "Get away!" Twilight rubbed her head, "Pinkie what's happening? Why is everypony freaking out?" "Uh, T-Twi..." Spike raised a claw and pointed it ahead of him, hiding behind the purple alicorn. Pinkie shivered, "Yeah. He gives me the heebie jeebies." Standing in the middle of the town was a hairy bipedal creature. His body was covered in blood, the look of an animal that caught his prey was seen on his face. He was hunched over, and they could hear his huffs as he panted like a wolf who had just finished sprinting for its target. He gritted his teeth as he out his hands out to his sides and grunted like a dog. "What is that?" Twilight gulped. "I dunno..." Pinkie whispered, "But I don't think he's friendly." They all froze at the noise they heard as they watched metal claws reveal themselves from his knuckles. SNIKT! //-------------------------------------------------------// Animal //-------------------------------------------------------// Animal Twilight swerved her body to the side, dodging a fast swipe from the savage creature. The alicorn turned her head to shoot a beam of magic at him, knocking him back a little. She put a hoof to her chest, recalling the close call she had. But she felt a stinging pain on her side. Spike gave it a closer inspection, "Oh man, Twi." the dragon gulped, putting a hand to her side, seeing it covered in tiny blotches of red. There were three scratches on her body. "He actually got a small hit on you. Doesn't look too bad." he turned around, with a noticeable scowl on his features. "Spike, don't get close!" Twilight pleaded. The monster huffed endlessly, awaiting the drake's actions. Spike inhaled for a second and let out a burst of flames, hoping that it would do something. He saw burn marks on the creature's body and he was still for a moment. "Alright. He should be out for a few." Spike sighed, wiping sweat off his head. Pinkie gulped, raising a hoof, "Um... Spike?" Said dragon turned his head, seeing the monster seemingly unharmed. He backed away in fright, his eyes wide. "W-What? What is that thing? How could he do that?" The monster growled. It actually hissed a word, "Berserk... Wolverine..." was all it said. Twilight tilted her head, "Wolverine?" she repeated. "AAAAAHHHHHHH!" the feral Wolverine screamed, sticking his claws in the alicorn's direction. However before he could reach her, a rainbow blur managed to smack the clone's head, making him fall on his side for a second and creating a bruise, which cleared in a second, making him wipe the sore spot. "Sorry about that, Twi!" Rainbow Dash called out, hovering next to the alicorn. "Any idea on what this creep is? He's got three claws and I'm kind of afraid to see what he'll do to them." "H-He said Berserk Wolverine... I'm not sure what that means." Twilight studdered. The cyan pegasus nodded, "Alright." she faced the fake Wolverine once again. "I have no clue who or what you are, but I don't take ponies hurting my friends kindly. So either back off, or I'm gonna have to teach ya a lesson!" Beserk Wolverine snarled in response to Rainbow's threat, not scared in the slightest. Rainbow Dash smacked her hooves together, "Looks like we're doin' things the hard way!" Twilight, Spike and Pinkie stepped back as the fake Wolverine marched forward, a stomp with each step. Rainbow Dash narrowed her eyes at the sight of the feral being and waited to see what he would do next. There was no pattern, no reason for what he does. "What should we do, Twilight?" Spike asked. "We're not gonna sit out and let Rainbow Dash risk herself on her own." Twilight insisted, cringing at the stinging of her wounds. "We have to do something." Pinkie raised a hoof, "I have an idea!" The dragon nodded, "Alright. No time to explain! Just do it!" Rainbow Dash circled around the Wolverine, unsure of how to attack. She just settled with punches and kicks while moving at superspeed to catch him off guard. The pegasus created a rainbow trail around the monster, showing just how fast she was moving. The Beserk Wolverine was caught in a small tornado as she moved. The Wolverine clone roared at him getting knocked around by wind and unsheathed his claws again, aiming his hands in various directions hoping to catch something. After a few attempts, he felt his claws hit something at last. Rainbow's side, right near the wing. The mare gagged and yelled at the feeling of metal digging into her. "A-Ah..." she groaned, "AAAAAAHHHHH!" she yelled out, keeling over from the pain and falling onto her hips. "RAINBOW!" Twilight practically screamed. The alicorn ran over to her injured friend to check on the wounds. Luckily, she only noticed three holes that could be patched up. In the meantime, she needed to tend to the monster. Pinkie pulled out her party cannon and struck the fake Wolverine with a legitimate cannon ball, launching him across the field, "Nopony hurts my friends like that!" she boasted, ready to aim a second one at the unknown monster. The disgruntled Wolverine clone got right back up, any and all damage to him was healed thanks to his Healing Factor. He narrowed his gaze at the pink pony and lunged his two sets of claws after her, but Twilight leaped ahead, "NO!" she screamed, lighting her horn in a lavender aura as she dived in front of the Wolverine. In an instant, the two vanished. Twilight and the fake Wolverine reappeared in the middle of an empty forest. The fake Wolverine roared and brought his claws down upon Twilight, who dodged them. The alicorn sneered, using her wings to fly above him, but the pain from her wound, forced her to come back down to the ground, her cringing in response. Wolverine smirked, ready to end her, but the princess attacked with a beam of magic, launching him into a tree. The burn wounds on the clone vanished with smoke surrounding his body. "Grrr..." he hissed, holding his neck. The alicorn stepped back, staggering, blood continuing to drip from her side. She gritted her teeth, doing her best to hold off until she can teleport again. She was getting worn out from how she teleported herself and the monster away. "GGRRRAAAAHHHH!" The Wolverine clone screamed, punching Twilight, causing her to fall backwards. She coughed, panting, and staggering to stand on her hooves again. "Y-You won't be maiming anypony for a while..." she muttered, finally mustering the energy to teleport right as Beserk Wolverine lunged after her, causing him to hit the ground. Once he saw that she was gone, he screamed to the heavens. Annoyed that he did not get his kill. Twilight reappeared in Ponyville, buckling down in pain. The first one to greet her was Spike, who rushed immediately to her side. "Twilight!" he screamed, kneeling down to check on his friend. "Oh man... You look tired." "I-I'm fine, Spike..." the alicorn panted, "W-Where's Rainbow?" "Pinkie took her to a hospital. Honestly, the wound didn't look too bad, she should be back on her hooves by tomorrow." he revealed, wiping some of the still wet blood from his friend. "Now, I gotta take you there, you need to get that patched up. Nodding, Twilight slowly got to her hooves and leaned on Spike for support, the dragon wrapping an arm around her barrel to keep her standing. "Sunova bitch." Wolverine looked down. Lying on the floor were three dead ponies, limbs torn off, and blood covering the floor. He had arrived before the ponies did, taking a shortcut based on where his senses led him. He was not expecting this. Kneeling down, Logan decided to investigate. "This ain't no ordinary murder. It was senseless. Violent. It was a massacre." he noticed, observing where and what position they died. He looked at the wounds seen on their bodies, 'Three scratch marks?' he revealed his claws, looking at the size of the cuts, 'Almost identical. But how? I didn't know these horses. Is this who came here first? But that would mean...' Wolverine shook his head, "No. It wasn't Victor. He's usually more thorough. And he wouldn't just do this." Deciding he had no other option, the X-Man sniffed the air, 'Smells familiar and yet different. Kinda like... Weapon X. Fuck.' he thought, now pissed off. 'I gotta head to where it was before anyone else could get hurt.' "Hey!" Wolverine's thoughts were cut off by the voices. He saw the two ponies from earlier. Their eyes were wide and their fur was about to turn green from what they saw. "Y-You monster..." one of them muttered, tears running down their eyes." 'Shit. They think I did it. Gotta clear things up before things get outta hand.' The man stood up, raising his hands. "Easy, bub. I didn't kill 'em. I already--" he couldn't finish his sentence, because he felt a burning sensation in his stomach. When he opened his eyes, he saw the unicorn's horn lit up. That meant the pony attacked him. Wolverine cracked his knuckles and neck and he scowled, "Ya shouldn't have done that, bub. I tried to be civil." "You killed them! You can't lie!" the other pony said. 'Can't really hurt 'em. They're grievin'. And since they're not listenin' to reason like dumbasses, looks like I'm gonna have to leave 'em in the dust.' Wolverine thought. 'Unless they piss me off.' Wolverine felt another surge of magic on his stomach, 'Okay. They pissed me off.' //-------------------------------------------------------// Savage //-------------------------------------------------------// Savage Wolverine's eye twitched, the mutant trying to stay calm. 'But it's kinda hard to stay calm when there are damn ponies shootin' magic at ya!' he told himself. Beams of magic threatened to burn his skin, but the wounds faded in seconds. "What are you?" the unicorn asked. Grabbing the pony by the horn and holding him up easily, Logan gritted his teeth and dropped him swiftly with a small toss. "You don't wanna know. Now, I'm just as confused as you are on what's happenin'. So calm yer ass and le--" he paused, "Grah!" he yelled in pain, feeling something hit his back. Cracking was heard and Wolverine held the spot, fixing his kicked back instantly, another yell escaping his mouth. He saw the second pony, his legs facing the mutant, a scowl on his muzzle. "Alright... I'm through talkin'." he decided, bringing his arms down. "If ya aren't willing to listen to reason, I guess we gotta do things the hard way." "Just tell us why! Why did you kill them?" one of them pleaded, wiping the tears from their eyes, refusing the urge to vomit. Logan grunted, "Fer the last time, it wasn't me. I found 'em like this!" he snarled in annoyance over their stubbornness. "Now, are ya willin' to listen?" "No... Not to you." the pony whispered, raising a hoof to Wolverine. The X-aman huffed and grabbed the pony's limb, tightening his grip on it. The unicorn was about to shoot Logan, but he spun around and threw the pony aside, tanking the spell with ease. Wolverine thought, 'Can't use my claws here. If I rough 'em up too bad, that'll just put a pony army in my trail probably. And that's the last thing I need right now no matter how goddamn stupid that sounds. Once I get 'em outta my hair, I'm lookin' for whoever did this. And I have six different ways of makin' them pay.' Logan reared his fists back and punched the unicorn clean in the jaw, pushing him back. The pony spat a little blood and wiped his muzzle, unable to respond to the mutant's knee, which connected with his jaw as hard as he could. The second pony tried to tackle him, wrapping his hooves around the X-Man's neck. Logan began to feel the oxygen escape his body. With no other option, he revealed his claws and stabbed the pony's hooves, making him scream and release Wolverine. With a grunt, Wolverine sheathed his claws and headbutted the stallion, knocking him unconscious. "Egh..." grunted the X-Man, rubbing his now aching forehead from the blunt force of the attack, seeing the pony fall to the floor with his eyes closed. As the unicorn staggered up, he kneeled down and put two fingers somewhere and listened to his chest, "Still alive. Alright." he sighed before feeling a stinging pain he was starting to recognize now. Annoyed, Wolverine stood up and cracked his neck, "Bub... Do ya really wanna try me? I ain't in the mood." he threatened, cracking his knuckles, putting his fists in his palms. "T-They were my friends." he sniffled. 'Just don't kill me. Please..." Wolverine smirked, "I ain't gonna kill ya. Trust me, not in the mood right now." The unicorn gulped in fear as Wolverine's fist neared him. He tried to take a step back and hit Logan again with magic, despite now knowing it was a futile effort. Wolverine's head moved back before leaning forward again. "Now ya made a mistake, bub." he taunted the unicorn with disgust. "I am sick of these little magic games." he decided. The unucorn gulped, leaning onto a tree as he gulped, seeing Wolverine's fist reared back. The last thing he saw was the mutant's fist coming towards him before black enveloped his vision and drifted to unconsciousness, his body limp and snoozing on the floor falling on his stomach. With the time to make a sneaky escape, Wolverine darted off deeper into the woods, hoping to find answers as to who was behind this. He used his enhanced senses in order to track where the culprit wound up. He just hoped that he wasn't too late and anyone else suffered the wrath of this monster. He left the unconscious bodies of the ponies he fought there, hoping they would have no way to track or follow him, as he'd be long gone hopefully. The X-Man leaned on a tree, holding his chest, the feeling of the burning magic still linering slighty on his body. He inhaled sharply, getting the scent of his target. 'North.' he sniffed again, 'I'm thinkin' something's nearby,' With that thought, Wolverine ran on, not intending to stop. Unfortunately, things started to get difficult for Logan as he looked to the sky, seeing the sun's now orange glow and the clouds darken. "Damn it. Runnin' outta time here before I run outta good daylight." he muttered to himself. Needing a moment, Logan saw a ravine and walked towards it, cupping his gloved palms. He reached his hands to his mouth and sipped the water he caught, rehydrating himself for the moment. He may be immortal and indestructble, but he could use the energy, 'Especially when I have no fucking clue what to expect. Could be more ponies, hell, for all I know, there could be goddamn dragons and other mythical creatures Goldilocks slayed with his hammer.' he mused, reminded of a fellow Avenger. Sitting down, Wolverine removed his cowl for a moment, deciding his face needed the air. He wiped the sweat from his brow and extra lengthy hair. "This has been some day." he muttered, looking at the Warp Crystal. "And I have no clue as to who came here first. They better not be expectin' me. Maybe Summers." he groaned, standing back up and looking back in the direction he was heading, wondering if there was any food to scavenge, Shaking his head, Logan told himself, 'But I ain't eatin' until I figure out where this mystery killer is. He's givin' me a bad image already. Heh. Guess I never left home then.' With determination and a deadline by the descending Sun, Wolverine continued on, getting nearer to his next stop with each second. He had no name. He had little to no memories. The Wolverine clone wandered the forest. Alone. Ever since the battle against that horse, he had been aimless. After all, he had one goal: to kill his prey. And ever since he wound up here, he only found small animals. That wasn't enough for his bloodlust. He needed more to be satisfied. For some reason, there were small thoughts in his head beyond his initial programming and apparent purpose of existing. The word Wolverine was etched into his primitive brain as was Beserk and X. as he always was. It meant nothing to him. All he cared was his goal. His purpose for existing. To be a weapon. With a huff, the clone got to all fours and sniffed the air, using his strange senses to find any prey. Nothing. Beserk Wolverine growled, slamming his fists onto the floor. No. He was not used to this location for some reason, nor his senses. He just needed to continue and walk on, intending to reach the town he was in and finish the purple horse that put him in this foreign and confusing situation. He needed to kill. //-------------------------------------------------------// Misunderstandings //-------------------------------------------------------// Misunderstandings Wolverine stopped, leaning a hand upon the bark of a tree. "Well, I'll be." he muttered. Despite the darkened night sky, he was able to make a small town out in the distance. He sniffed again, "Whatever this thing is, it came here. Hopefully nothin' too bad happened." he said quietly to no one in particular. Unknown to him, two ponies were behind him, having caught up to the one that hurt them earlier. Walking forward a bit more, Logan clenched his fists, hiding his claws to avoid any immediate conflict, 'But if they're like the ponies I met earlier, I'll probably be met with hostility anyway...' his mind paused, remembering how mutants and certain superheroes were treated on Earth, 'So, nothin' outta the ordinary then.' "I smell more horses. And blood." Wolverine pointed out in a mumble. "Somethin' definitely happened. Gonna get some answers one way or another somehow." he added. The town was quiet and the outside was empty, no doubt ponies were trying to get rest at this hour. But Logan couldn't rest, not when he had a mission. He got to knee, getting a closer look at the floor. He saw small droplets of red in the darkness. "Hm. Looks lethal, but not enough to do any killing blows. Should know. Done plently." he reminded himself, placing a hand on the red spot on the dimly-lit grass. 'Seems this is recent, like the bodies I found. Whoever did this had a busy day.' he thought, closing his eyes for a moment. The human stood up, "I ain't gonna get answers standin' here. I gotta sort things out soon before someone else gets hurt." he looked around the empty town, which he was glad for, "Now, where the hell do I go? My best chances are I'm probably gonna get attacked fer bein' different looking or somethin'. The worst is probably befriendin' these things. Dunno why honestly." Wolverine tilted his head, seeing something tower over the rest of the town. "The hell is that?" he asked himself bluntly. It was a crystal tree looking shaped building, it shining in the dark night sky underneath the stars. "Uh huh." was all he said, gritting his teeth in genuine wonder, "Looks like that's the best option." He lowered his cowl like one would with a hood and trekked forward. After a bit, he reached the doors. 'Some entrance. These doors look like they could fit Banner when he's the friendly giant.' he thought. Relunctantly, he raised his fist and slammed it on the door as hard as he could, secretly hoping that no one would answer. Unfortunately, the door creaked open. Standing on the opposite end was a small drake. "Huh?" his eyes widened upon seeing Wolverine's face. His breathing intensified to panting almost instantly. Logan tilted his head, wondering what was happening. "You? B-But Twilight sent y-you away!" he gulped in a panic. Logan creased a brow, "The hell you talkin' about?" he questioned the dragon. "I just got here--" "TWILIGHT!" Wolverine put a hand to his head, "So much for no hostilities." he muttered, knowing that he was about to fight. He put his arms to his sides and watched as a purple pony with wings and a horn walked out, just as surprised to see him. "You? I-I thought you were on the other side of Equestria! How many others have you hurt or killed on the way?" Twilight asked, clearly in a mild panic that would just get worse like with Spike. Shaking his head, Wolverine growled, "Calm the hell down. I did no such thing. I just got here. This dragon kid or whatever just panicked. Trust me, I was already pissed off once, ya don't want to have me repeat myself. It won't be pretty." he warned. "You can talk?" Twilight asked. "I was gonna ask ya the same thing." Wolverine muttered with his arms folded in a sarcastic tone. "Now, do ya trust me?" he wondered. "Princess Twilight! Oh no!" yelled a stallion, panting as he and his partner neared the castle, bruises seen on their bodies. "We found you at last, strange creature." they both yelled. Twilight faced Logan with a scowl, "Do you know them?" she asked the X-Man, who ignored her. 'Son of a bitch.' mused Wolverine, 'I thought I lost 'em back in the forest. Seems they followed somehow.' he shook his head, "Kinda had a tough run-in with them." "You don't understand, Princess! He killed our friends and attacked us with no reason!" one of them pleaded. "We chased him to warn anypony else before he slaughters again!" "Is this true?" Twilight growled, seeing the bruises and cuts on their faces that proved their truthfulness. Wolverine snarled, "I didn't kill their friends. I found 'em the same time as--" he stopped speaking. Because, out of nowhere, Wolverine felt a stinging sensation on his stomach, launching him across the field a bit. He coughed, smoke seen coming from his costume. Twilight unfurled her wings, "I knew you were the same creature we fought earlier." she took a slow step and acknowledged the other ponies, "Go, you two. Thank you for warning me." she thanked. Wolverine stood up, now clearly pissed off. "Just once, I'd like to show up in a different world and not have to fight every fucking thing standing in my way." he rubbed his neck and stretched it, cracking sounds heard with each movement of his head and he faced the alicorn. "Just fucking once." "Be careful, Twi. You want me to get the others this time?" Spike asked nervously, leaning on the door. Twilight shook her head, "No, Spike. I can take care of this." she assured her assistant, who slowly nodded. "Okay, bub. Now ya asked fer it. I tried doin' things the easy way, but..." Wolverine revealed his claws and only one sound came out as he prepared to fight once again. SNIKT! Twilight frowned, "The same claws as before. You hurt my friends with those." she looked to the covered scratch marks from earlier. "I'll make sure you never use them like that again." Wolverine smirked, "That a threat, pony? Didn't think you were capable honestly." Stomping a hoof on the grass, Twilight huffed, "Just stop! I'm giving you one chance, leave or I'll resort to... lethal methods." "I ain't leavin' until you give me answers." Logan hissed, deciding to stand his ground. He raised his cowl as he continued talking, "I don't want to do this. But I'm not askin' to be yer friend either." Twilight closed her eyes, "Very well. I gave you a chance. I'll send you even farther than before!" she threatened. She shot more magic at Wolverine. "...That hurt." Logan muttered the lie, falling on his back. He got to his feet instantly and smirked, "Gonna have to try and do harder than that, pony." Hiding nearby were some strange ponies, eyeing their target from a group of bushes hiding in front of trees in a nearby forest, using binoculars to get a closer look. "There he is. Quite a specimen, isn't he?" the one in the coat asked, having heard the story of what occurred in Ponyville hours ago. "Indeed." the other muttered, holding a small blade in his mouth. He wore a vest "Word got out quite fast from Ponyville. This... Wolverine will make quite the prey to kill. I must thank you for bringing me here." "Should we send him to the Ring now?" the scientist asked. The hunter shook his head, "Not yet. I wish to study him first. We shall examine his abilities, his skills. Then he will prove to be be the perfect warrior for the Ring. But I wish for him to fall by my hand. The game shall begin soon enough my apprentice. This Wolverine will feel the wrath of a hunter." The hunter and scientist went back to watching the fight, the two of them swapping the binoculars. There would come a time soon enough. The Wolverine was being evaulated, tested, unknowingly. The hunter smirked, satisfied by what he was seeing so far in the battle. This prey would be the best yet. //-------------------------------------------------------// Claws vs. Magic //-------------------------------------------------------// Claws vs. Magic "Grah!" Wolverine growled as he lunged forward, his arms extended outwards, his claws unsheathed, intending to attack the alicorn. Twilight yelped and erected a forcefield strong enough to barricade the X-Man from harming her, "I'm gonna ask ya one more time. The hell is yer problem with me, huh?" "You..." hissed Twilight, creating a burst of aura that knocked Logan on his back in seconds. The mutant grunted in pain as his back hit the dirt surface after a surprisngly lengthy fall and rolled to his stomach, punching the ground in rage. "...Attacked us... Harmed one of my friends... I thought I hid you away to where you won't be hurting others, but it looked like I was wrong." Wolverine spat, "Doll, I ain't seen ya before in my life. And I lived a long one. Just arrived in this town only a while ago. Those ponies that warned ya, didn't get the whole truth." Twilight pointer a hoof at the mutant, "I've seen those claws before. The same ones that cut into Rainbow Dash. I'm only wondering how you seem less... savage since the last we met." "I know I'm a monster, but I ain't stupid." Wolverine quipped. "Whatever the hell's goin' on here, I had no part in it. So ease up on the horns and wings. I really don't feel like fightin' a horse I'd see on a kid's refridgerator." Twilight didn't say anything and instead opted to shoot Wolverine, a volt of magic hitting his chest, but it barely harmed him in anyway. "Okay, now yer askin' fer it!" Dashing forward, Wolverine sheathed his claws and decided to fight the old-fashioned way. The princess moved underneath his fists and chose to land a hit directly to his abdomen, "So you owe up to being a monster. You can't fool me. Now let me ask you a question..." she flared her wings out and dove behind Logan, kicking the back of his leg, making him buckle down. "What does the word Wolverine mean?" she wondered. Logan growled, "How the fuck do you know what that is?" Twilight said sternly, "It's the only word you said when we last encountered. Is that your name?" Wolverine composed himself and spun around, intending to drive his claws into the alicorn in anger, "I don't wanna talk about. It's a name, but it's not my real one!" he snarled, "I'm gettin' real tired of these dumbass assumptions. Just makes ya look stupider every freakin' time someone sees me, and it ain't changed here." The mutant uppercutted Twilight and held her hoof, pinning her down hard enough so that she wouldn't be able to budge. "Now listen... Cause I'm only gonna explain this to ya--" he paused, because the pony that was pinned beneath him suddenly vanished in a burst of lavender light. He instantly knew what it meant, "...Shit." he cursed under his breath, waiting for her to appear. Then, something pushed him on his back. Logan instantly knew that it was the pony, 'Twilight...' he recalled, 'Seems I'm in some sorta freakish cartoon now that I think about it.' he grunted, feeling something hold him down. A purple light enveloped his vision for a moment, and he was unable to move. "The hell?" "I'm gonna give you one more chance..." warned Twilight. "Turn yourself in. It doesn't have to escalate anymore." The magic aura that held Wolverine faded and he was on his knees. "Doll, there's somethin' you should know about me." his hands curled into fists and his claws were revealed once more, "I don't back down. I gave ya a simple warnin', and you refused. I already told you, I played no part in killin' ponies!" Wolverine swiped an arm upwards, intending to slash the princess' side while crouching. The alicorn felt a slight scratch and hissed in pain, feeling the stinging subside. "But it seems yer bein' the unreasonable one." he called out at last. The X-Man elbowed the alicorn's cheek and knocked her to the side a little, stunning her. This gave Logan enough time to lightly dig his claws into her fur. "Non-lethal stab. Be lucky you have a damn good reason to attack me like that." Wolverine revealed, watching the mare cringe in pain. "Now, I'm gonna get answers here and now. Otherwise, this won't be pretty..." he warned one again, sticking his middle claw up. Twilight took it as some form of a rude gesture. The alicorn shuddered and held the spot Wolverine lightly stabbed, noticing red on her lavender fur. Disgusted, she flew and kicked Logan in the stomach, making him exhale sharply as her hoof collided with his body. Logan growled, then brought an arm down, his fist smacking with Twilight's head, making her collapse for a second. Twilight blinked hard, trying to stay conscious. "Nothing more needs... to be... said..." she mumbled. Wolverine sneered then backed off, "Seems yer actin' irrational. I'll figure things out on my own." he said, leaving the alicorn. "Thanks fer nothing." he added in mutual disgust. But then something happened. In a moment's notice, he felt himself collapse and lose focus, his body leaning forward before hitting the grass. The princess got her bearings and stood back up, the light on her horn fading away. She looked at Logan's unconscious body, "Enhanced sleep spell... Puts some of the biggest monsters to sleep. Including you, it seems." she used her magic to lift his body, deciding that she needed answers as to who or what he was. Black. Again, Wolverine was unable to see anything. He could still feel his costume on his body as he drifted back to consciousness and he was able to notice that the floor he was lying on felt like marble, possibly even something like glass. His senses were coming back and he raised a hand, feeling a migraine coming on. "The fuck...?" Wolverine cursed under his breath, finally opening his eyes slowly. The mutant saw a ceiling. Rather too close for his liking if he had to be honest. "What is this place?" he asked himself, rubbing his forehead lightly. "That damn pony..." His body rolled and he pushed himself back up. He sat down and exhaled, then turned his head. He saw bars made of crystal blocking him. He sniffed, "What kinda freakin' place is this?" he wondered, his voice echoing despite how quiet it was. Logan heard steps, someone, or rather somepony, walking in. Waiting, he calmed himself. There. It was the same alicorn he fought not too long ago, "So... Are you ready to talk?" asked Twilight, a hint of anger in her tone. "Or should I just turn you in?" "Sunova bitch..." groaned Wolverine, shaking his head. //-------------------------------------------------------// Caged //-------------------------------------------------------// Caged Not a lot of things ran through Logan's head. For years, he tried to calm himself, move on from his troubled past and the cinstant pain he's dealt with. But that's a problem, since he's locked in a cage in a world of talking ponies. His gloved hands gripped the bars as hard as he could, and despite the shocking pain that jolted through his body he attempted to break them apart. Wolverine screamed, trying to push through the massive pain. Alas, he released his grip on the hardened crystals, smoke literally seen coming from them and his palms. He could feel the skin burnt off, which luckily would regenerate in a minute or two. Hoofsteps, Logan noticed. He sat down and growled, rubbing his aching wrists all the while and removing his gloves, seeing the red flesh down his palm. He watched as it healed back in record time. With a sigh, he placed the glove back on his hand and raised his gaze. Standing on the other end was Twilight, a stern glare on her features. With a sneer, Wolverine spat a simple question, "What the hell do ya want now?" A metal tray dropped onto Wolverine's lap, a cheese sandwich. He gave her a thin smirk, "Heh, didn't think you'd be offering prison service. I'd have come a long time ago had I known." "I'm feeding you, because unlike you, I'm not a monster." Twilight replied in a cold tone. Wolverine held the small sandwich in his hands, "Didn't think you'd know me so well fer someone I just met. Honestly, doll, I just showed up here and yer trustin' the word of some random strangers that shouldn't have been near me. Honestly, wouldn't trust me either." The alicorn sighed sharply, "I know of you, because you attacked me. Yet somehow you have become more self aware and sentient than what I remember in our first encounter." she paused, "I just want to know why you're out looking to shed blood in our world. You already hurt my friend and nearly killed her." "Ya want me to talk, but I've said all I needed." Logan replied while taking a first bite. "Whatever you dealt with ain't me. Simple as that. Had nothin' to do with yer friend." Twilight tapped her chin, "Alright then, those claws. They come out of your hands, just like the same thing I fought." "Again, whatever the hell you dealt with, wasn't me. May got the claws and the mug, but I sure as hell won't use 'em to kill someone who didn't have it comin'." he admitted. "But yer sure tryin' my patience to prove me otherwise." The alicorn glared at the X-Man as he continued, "Listen, darlin'. Whatever freak'a nature ya fought ain't me. I just got here, found my way to the castle hopin' to get answers at least or a fucking map. I'm trackin' someone down, and if none of ya ain't willin' to believe me then I guess I gotta handle things on my own again. Believe it or not, I'm tryin' to save your world." "And how? You're trapped in that cage. Those crystals are meant to give out a volt so strong you'll want to be contained." Twilight elaborated. "So explain. Who are you following?" Wolverine shrugged, "Not sure. It's why I came here. Was rescuing a kid and told me about someone comin' to this world or somethin'." Once she heard that sentence, the lavender alicorn tilted her head, "... Saving a kid?" Logan leaned his head back, lightly touching the wall. "Ain't yer concern. Just gotta know some bad people were after him. Found myself here next. Landed in some kinda pool in a cave or somethin' like that. Took a day to get here. Then ya lock me up like I'm some kinda animal." he gave her a defiant smirk, "Smart choice." The alicorn blinked, having listened intently, "..." she paused, choosing her words carefully, "...How can I trust you're telling the truth?" she wondered. Wolverine exhaled, "Should'a known it'd be hard to convince ya. Tell ya what? You let me out, I won't use my claws on ya unless you decide to get violent. Cause trust me... I know a thing or two about that." he suggested. "Is that a threat?" "Is it?" Wolverine retorted, "I actually ain't up fer mind games, pony. Just let me out of the freaking cage." he gripped the bars again, feeling electricity get sent down his body, "GRAH!" he let go, smoke appearing on his fingers again. "You can heal..." "Yeah, wanna make a big deal out of it?" Logan responded. "So can that beast I faced... The evidence is turning against your favor, Wolverine." Wolverine scowled, "...How the hell do you know that name?" "That's what you said when we met. Beserk Wolverine." Twilight stated factually. "I deduced it had to be a codename after some thinking when our last encounter ended." Once he heard that, the mutant responded, "Yer really starting to get on my last damn nerve." and then Wolverine sniffed, hoping to get a new scent in an attempt to piece things together. It was strange. He could smell the blood of someone familiar, and another one that was planted on Twilight. He thought he recognized it, yet at the same time it was hard to pinpoint. Whatever it was definitely shared something in common with him, "Shit." he cursed. He needed to find whatever this was, cause it wasn't gonna be as easy. "What's wrong?" Twilight asked. "You better let me out, bub. I ain't able to figure out who are what attacked ya. It's scent is too foreign. Can't track it properly to get a good clue. Shit." Wolverine cursed, "Got too much to deal with already." "Track scents?" Twilight asked. Logan shook his head, "Yep. But I ain't spillin' those details." 'He seems determined that it wasn't him, and seems to know something about it.' Twilight thought, 'Maybe it was...' she cleared her throat one more time, "Okay, I will, but I want to ask you one more question. You said you fell into a pool... Where was that exactly?" Wolverine grunted, "Some kinda cave. Ended up in a forest after cuttin' some barrier wood. So what? Yer suddenly gonna trust me outta the blue just because of that? I didn't think anyone would give a shit." The alicorn pursed her lips as her eyes widened, "...Oh no." "The hell is wrong with you?" "It wasn't you... I know what it was now." Beserk Wolverine sniffed the air, able to still trace the scent of blood from the purple pony. He leaned a hand on the trunk of a tree and sniffed it. He needed to find her. To make her pay for having him lose track of his kill. He needed it, the lust for blood. He squinted in the dim sunlight as his feral thoughts ran rampant. Predator against prey. It was in his nature. He knew nothing else. He let out a grunt. He smelled more ponies. It took sometime, but it was time to kill once again. SNIKT! "Fucking hell." Wolverine cursed, Twilight having explained everything. He was cloned from something called the Mirror Pool, "Listen, ya gotta let me out. Whatever's out there is gonna come fer ya. It will have no emotion. No remorse. It won't matter who it kills. Just let me free, and I'll stop it." Twilight tapped her chin, pondering her options. She wondered if Wolverine will follow his word, then realized that he may have been the good guy this whole time. She needed help if she and her friends were going to stop this fake Wolverine. The Beserk Wolverine as she called it now, having apparently met the real deal. With a sigh, she removed the bars with her magic, allowing Logan to stand up, "Alright fine... I'll let you out so you can help--" SNIKT! Twilight was surprised when she saw three metal blades and her reflection staring at her. She gulped, "Listen, bub. Don't ever fucking lock me up again. Understand? This is my battle, and I ain't gonna get dragged down by some ponies tryin' to bark orders. Do anything that stupid again, I'll cut ya." With that said, Wolverine retracted his claws and walked out, kicking the door open and finding himself in a hall. At the end of the hall, the dragon asked, "You're already free?" "Friend'a yours let me out. Should probably go. Looked like somethin' spooked her." Logan said with a thin smile. Spike ran off the other room, leaving Wolverine to his own devices. The X-Man opened the door and sniffed, "Shit... this is gonna be harder than I thought. Gotta get movin' before that pony gets the idea to follow." Author's Note Fixed the end due to being OOC. Hope this one's better.
