Big Blue Monster of Lightning

  Running after the scent it took a minute with my big frame and small area but i eventually came to a small clearing and saw something I would judge as well... weird.

  Up in a tree was what looked like people but their features were off a tad. Hooves for feet, pony like face and i think i see one has a horn. Instead of the typical coloration of skin tones, it was fur with one being a purplish color and the other... wait, that's a zebra, the hell?

  My sanity train was about to derail till i saw what caused the people ponies to be up in the tree in the first place. Well all i can say is train derail and no one lived. Below the tree were wolves but not just any wolves. These wolves were made from one like nature itself gave birth to them. Where ever i am' damn nature you scary.

  "Oh no it's a bigger one, it must've heard the timber wolves." the purple one spoke.

  "Steel your nerve and be ready to defend or sure enough this will be our end." the zebra spoke.

  O.k  that did it. Hearing the purple one speak broke me, hearing the zebra speak crush the broken pieces then scattered what was left into the wind. My only response was a tilt of my head like a pup.

  "Why isn't it attacking  Zecora it's just standing there."

  "I do not know what it could be, maybe it's blind and can not see?"

  While I was off in lala land i didn't notice one of the "timber wolves" approaching me.

  "You big wolf!" a voice shouted.

  "Huh, wuh, who's talking?" i responded after jolting back to sense.

  "Big wolf this be our hunt, you hunt elsewhere or fight pack!" the voice shouted again.

  I looked around a bit till I looked down and saw one of the timber wolves growling and staring up at me. These things be freaky dude. Aside from one looking like an amalgamation of twigs, leaves and vines all stuck together, that weird green glow from their eyes and what looks like a reddish orange sap leaking from their fangs. (I hope that's sap and not some poor sap)

  "What?" was my most elegant response.

  "We said leave big wolf or there be trouble!" the wood wolf yelled again.

  "O.k one chill with the yelling and two.."

  Lifted my paw/claw i swatted the little bugger off into the tree line where i heard wood breaking. Now I had a choice, walk away and find some other means of getting home or save  the people ponies and get my information that way.  Truth be told, I was leaning towards leaving but little bugga kept yelling. Now i have five more all growling and surrounding me.

'Why didn't i just walk away. *sigh* Screw you heart.'

  I don't know what i am seeing. One moment i was out with Zecora studying the fauna of the Everfree then we get ambushed by a pack of Timber Wolves. I tried to fend them off with my magic but the kept regenerating and dodging my magic. So Zecora and I rand and now we're trapped in a tree. Just when i think it couldn't get worse this bigger fiercer looking Wolf beast shows up. Of all the times i really needed Spike, this would be one of those. But, something strange was happening, the Wolf beast just stood there looking at us like it was studying us. It shouldn't be possible since all the animals of the EverFree don't show that kind of intellect aside from the animals FutterShy take care of.

  That wasn't it. One of the Timber Wolves approached it and began to bark at it. After awhile it finally noticed the Timber Wolf and they seemed to be talking to one another.

  "Zecora do you see what i see?" I said with glee.

  "Indeed i do see and hear, but what they speak of is my fear."

  "I know Zecora but they is a rare find of different species communication in the EverFree. If only i hadn't dropped my bag I could take notes on what's happ...."

  One moment I was happy to experience such a rare find, the next all Tartarus broke loose. The Wolf beast was staring down at the Timber Wolf after it barked something to it then the next the Wolf beast let out a small bark then swatted the Timber Wolf off into the tree line where it shattered against one of the trees. After that the remaining five took noticed and surrounded the Wolf beast we thought for sure it would be taken down since it was out numbered.

  "Surely I thought this would be our last, while the beast has the Timber Wolves attention we must act fast."

  Nodding my head we were about to make a run for it till we saw the Wolf beast do something I never seen a beast do nor thought it possible. It spun itself on one paw swing its tail around knocking the five Timber Wolves away before launching itself into the air doing a backwards somersault and landing hard enough to shake the ground which caused both Zecora and I to fall from the tree. I landed on my rump but Zecora seemed to have tried to land on her hooves but ended up twisting her ankle.

  "Z-Zecora d-d-did you just see what I just saw?"

  "Yes Twilight for I wish I could lie, for what I just witnessed before my very eye's."

                                                                                                                 POV      Zinogre

    So, five of these wolves, only me, and no plan. O.K think, I'm a  Zinogre, don't know how to use my electricity so that's out and even if I did it wouldn't work on wood. Can't smash them one at a time cause the others would just jump me, so what do i have left.

  'I don't know what moves I got left that would.... DUH.'

  Monster Hunter Three Ultimate was my first time facing a Zinogre and it was painful. It took me a long time to get used to fighting it but after awhile I learned all its' moves to avoid getting hit and its' one move that got me enthralled with it was something I was gonna try now.

  Turning myself to my right while bringing my tail inward towards my left side i kept myself low while tightening my legs for what I'm about to do. I waited for the wolves to get closer and as soon as they did i spun myself around and as hard as i could hearing the sound of wood breaking before launching myself into the air on one paw doing a somersault before landing hard enough to shake the ground.

  'That..that was ...AWESOME!!!!'

To anyone watching i was jumping around from paw to paw in a circle letting out little barks of happiness. To this day I'm happy they were the only two who saw me do that. After my little less than proud moment, I looked around and saw the two that were in the tree now on the ground staring at me.

'O.k first form of communication don't look threatening, approach slowly and smile.'

   When i made eye contact i did my best at smiling and immediately regretted it when the zebra flinched back and the purple ones' horn began to glow.

'Alright skip smiling, approach slowly and calmly with no quick movements.'

The very second I went to go step forward, a purple beam of light struck the ground in front of where i stood and I was the one to flinch back this time.

   'Screw it, sit here, don't move and just keep an eye on them.'

   After the Blue Beast did this little dance which was rather cute for it, it looked around and spotted us. I thought about running but Zecora was hurt and we wouldn't get far and I was still exhausted from keeping the Timber Wolves at bay. When it showed it's teeth, I stepped in front of Zecora and ignited my horn hoping to scare it off. I know i didn't have much strength but I had to do something. After it stepped forward I shot a small concussive beam at it's paws to scare it off but all it did was just sit there and look at us.

   'This behavior was very strange for creatures of the EverFree . Usually the predators would attack anything the would be prey without hesitation but this ones' behavior was strange. Maybe it gauging us to see who to go for first or maybe its just waiting for us to do something that might seem like a threat. But if that's the case it shows some kind of intelligence but that's impossible, creatures of the EverFree don't have that level of intelligence it's usually just base instinct that drives them. Ooooh i wish i hadn't dropped my bag this would have been a good time to research something new and undocumen...'

  I was interrupted from my thoughts when i felt Zecora tap my on my shoulder.

"Huh sorry i was lost in thought for a moment, what is it Zecora?"

  All she did was point in front of me. As soon as i looked to where she was pointing all the color drained from my face. Once again because of my thirst for knowledge the beast had approached and was now standing directly in front of me. It was at that moment i knew i had bucked up.

  "Aww Ponyfeathers...."
