**Fire and Ice

Chapter 1

Familiar Faces**

The most painful roads that people walk, end up leading to the most beautiful ends of all.

“You always were a fool, but ‘this’! I might actually feel sorry for you!” Mocked the armoured knight as he glared down at Serafin, she was littered with cuts and bruises, her armour cracked

“I’ll kill you! I’ll cut your throat out for what you did!!!” She screamed back, tears still falling from her face she took another kick to the ribs as she coughed

“And just how are you going to do that?” He mocked but soon his eyes widened in pain from the crystal blade cutting his right ear off as he screamed “You Bitch!!!”

“How’s that for pain?” Serafin managed to say between breaths, but then the knight regained his state of mind as he ran for her and kicked her again in the head

“Serafin~” Came a voice as she still laid in utter darkness “Earth to Serafin!”

Serafin jumped as she regained her composer and saw Blaze looking down at her with slight annoyance.

“You know, as much as I like to sleep in, I really ain’t got the time today,” Blaze said as she sat up and yawned as she brushed her messy-yellow hair out of her face, her pupil-less eyes slowly drooping

“Well do you mind telling me what you’re doing in my room?” She asked with a bored look

“Well after you didn’t respond the first time I called I came up to do it more noticeably, that and Neckros tried,” Blaze said with a shrug as he walked back to the door “Breakfast be done shorty,” and then he was gone

First of all, to explain what is going on, after the events with Zanerif, not much had occurred in either worlds so Blaze and the rest have been taking it easy for once. Serafin on the other hand wanted to finally have her life back, so after a talk with Blaze, she had decided to enroll at his high school as she lived in the human world.

This was her first day at Canternlot High.

After about 15 minutes Serafin appeared in the living room in her usual getup, it consisted of a yellow halter top, gold bracelets just below her shoulders with crimson fabric. orange jeans with red flames at the bottom and charcoal shoes. Her yellow-orange hair was now its more long and smooth look than before.

The first thing she could hear was Blaze cooking away in the kitchen and Neckros, who was sitting on the couch as he laughed at a news article. his black, grey and red coat and trousers nearly matched the couch as his tendrils held a cup and the other a book or sorts. his claws kept a vice grip on the paper as he laughed, his sharp-tooth grin, forever on his face.

“Hey Blaze! Get this, that moron is actually building the wall! Can you believe that!?” He laughed as he wiped a tear from his purple-eye “What will we die from first? Nuclear Annihilation or global warming?”

“I bet the first one!” Blaze called out as Neckros shrugged and continued to read

Serafin then wandered into the kitchen and just raised a brow. Blaze was busy cooking as the floating Embodiment of Sloth, Loki, hovered in the air in a dressing gown as he held a piece of toast in his mouth as he grabbed the sugar and disappeared.

“Why was...?” Serafin trailed off as Blaze shrugged as he kept his back turned

“Honestly for a gu-thing who can manipulate the world around him, he sure does run out of supplies,” Blaze said casually

“He keeps trying to take my Necronomicon! Tell him to stop!” Neckros shouted as Blaze sighed before continuing with the food

"Blaze I was wondering..?" Serafin began as he glanced back with a raised brow

"Is there anything about your friends I should know about?" Serafin asked as he pondered for a bit before blankly saying

"Well, after fighting a she-demon, three sirens in musical and a crazy chick who had the power of the Everfree, they've been able to grow wings, their hair grows and even ears to, honestly Canternlot was a lot more normal before Equestria got blended in like a guy who kissed an oncoming train," Blaze explained as Serafin just looked at him with utter confusion

Something now told her that this was going to be a long day.

Outside Canternlot High...

Blaze leaned against the statue at the school as he looked over his blade, its silver surface gleamed with the colors of the rainbow. Blaze wore his usual black and red jacket with a red top, black jeans and shoes with red highlights. his brown eye and red eye were hidden under a pair of shades as he check the rest of his equipment.

“-So you won’t be back for about 2 days?” Serafin asked as he nodded

“Well with the activity of enemies lowered I want to prepare for any threats so I’ll not be back until then,” He said as he turned to walk through the portal but stopped "But, little word of warning, when you meet the Pinkie of this world, she tends to be a bit... strange when it comes to problems,"

"What kind of problems?" Serafin asked with a hint of worry

"Well last time, Dash tried to see what would happen if she jumped through the portal, whilst someone from Equestria jumped back into this world," Blaze explained

"What happened?" Serafin prompted

"A tear in the fabric of time and space that lead to a whole 'Loki' incident and when Pinkie came into contact with the area she began to spout about seeing the future and something about the 'Cell Games' or something like that, in other words don't bring it up," Blaze warned as he shook his head at the memory

“Oh, and try not to burn Neckros whist I’m gone, seeya!” Blaze said as he jumped into the portal, leaving Serafin baffled

“Wait did he just…” Serafin began before hearing the laughter in her head “Neckros, why are you in my head?”

“Well how else am I supposed to stay hidden?” He asked but this made Serafin’s eye twitch “Oh you meant why I didn’t go with him?”

“Well you see, he said that this required only KAI or the job and said I could do whatever, so I decided to stick around in your head for a while,” Neckros explained as Serafin began to walk towards the school

“If you ‘Dare’ enter my memories, there’s no god in the world that can save you from me,” Serafin warned as he gulped and laughed hesitantly

“Duly Noted, scary-fire-lady,” Neckros answered as she nodded, this was going to be a long day, or until she ran right into the pinkest girl that ever lived as she smiled as wide as Neckros

"Aah!" Serafin yelped as she fell backwards and Neckros laughed

"Oops, sorry 'bout that... hey! your Sery! the one from the festival!?" Pinkie asked instantly as she helped Serafin to her feet

"Yes, you're Pinkie, like the one Blaze told me about back in Equestira?" Serafin lied as Pinkie nodded before hearing the bell go off and then gasped

"Oh gosh! i'm gunna be late again!" Then she shot off, leaving Neckros and Serafin to stare blankly at the door

"What just happened?" Neckros asked

"I don't know," Serafin responded as they made their way inside

*Location; Canternlot High, Cafeteria*

“Hey, Serafin? Can I ask you something?” Neckros questioned as she stopped paying attention to her classmates

“What now?” She asked eternally in annoyance

“Well it only crossed my mind now, but this morning I felt your emotions become more fearful and… heartbroken, I guess is the word, why?” Neckros asked without a hint of sarcasm, this made Serafin freeze as he clicked his fingers

“And don’t try to lie,” He added as she let out a breath before thinking

“It was dream- no, a nightmare, about one of my biggest mistakes,” Serafin answered as she tried not to think about it but then Pinkie grabbed her attention

“Hey”! why the long face, Sery!” Pinkie asked as Serafin almost flinched at the nickname but sighed

“Nothing, just thinking, sorry,” She apologised "Honestly things have been a blur all day, nothing crazy has happened, which i guess is not normal?"

"You're right about that darling," A purple haired girl responded, Rarity, as she checked her phone "Normally some magical chaos would have caused another fuss by now, but thankfully nothing has occurred lately,"

"NO! You never say things like that! because then something big will happened, that would lead to a whole crazy adventure, that could lead to making a whole lot of trouble for people, which then leads to some of us getting depressed, which leads to-" Pinkie was halted by a girl with blonde hair, who wore a cowboy hat. she proceeded to cover Pinkie's mouth as she kept talking

"I don't think i'll ever get use to her... erratic behavior," Serafin commented as she looked concerned "On another note, i think the rest of today will be a breeze,"

“Keep that up and you might just ace this school as a whole without even trying!” said a rainbow haired girl, who was the duplicate of Blaze's girlfriend from Equestira, as she continued with her point “I mean you aced each class with flying colors and most of the time you were in deep thought! That something even Twi can’t do!”

“Even I’m a bit taken back by that, how do you know so much dear?” Rarity asked as Serafin shrugged and lied again

“I guess from what I know, I’m just extremely fascinated with learning about new things, that ended up helping the long haul,” She answered as Dash sighed

"'I'm also the Goddess of my own world and have over 500 years of experience'!" Neckros mimicked as Serafin internally groaned

“And here I thought she was cheating, oh well, worth a shot,” She sighed in defeat before clicking her fingers “Still I have an idea!”

"Oh boy, this outta be good," Neckros grinned with amusement

“And what might this ‘Bright’ idea be?” Rarity asked as Dash got a very creepy grin

“Right, well next lesson is PE, so I bet if I can beat you in a race around the entire track, that’s if you’re ok with this bet?” Dash asked Serafin as she thought before nodding

“Sure, I’ve got nothing better to do,” She answered as Dash smiled

“Cool, but I think we should spice it up, idiots! Get over here!” She called the boys as they made their way over

“I really don’t get why you have to label us as that,” Xelor said with a sigh

“Well you answered, didn’t you?” Sunset pointed out as he slumped

“Point taken,” He moaned as Dash clapped her hands

“Right so here’s my deal, if you want in, whoever wins a race around the track at PE can order one of the losers to do whatever they choose, no matter what,” She said daringly as most instantly backed up

"Fine,  but no cheating this time!" Xelor snapped in Dash's direction as she tried to look away "got it?"

"I mean seriously? wings against legs does not help, neither does your ability to control the weather!" Sam also added as Dash chuckled as she slouched in embarrassment

“Somehow I can see this ending in flames,” Serafin sighed as she let the rest discuss it between them as she turned and walked away “Time to go and think, I guess,”

“You really are a loner, huh?” Neckros quipped as she rolled her eyes, then she pictured Neckros holding signs which pointed to the stairs to the roof as she thought about it

Serafin now sat by the edge of the roof as she looked out towards the horizon, Neckros sat near her as he tilted his head back and forth.

“Soooo… why didn’t you stay with the gang?” He asked as she sighed “Geez you do that more than Blaze,”

“I just don’t feel right sitting with them all, they’re nice and I like being around them but… I just don’t think I belong,” She said sadly as she looked up at the sun "i mean, they beat a she-demon and sirens, along with a girl controlling the Everfree, i'm not... like them,"

“That’s not what I felt,” Neckros added, prompting her to turn as he grinned “You keep telling yourself this and honestly, I don’t know why, but the rest like having you around for some reason,”

“I may not know why, but they do, the only other person who isn’t convinced by your odd attitude is currently coming up the stairs, and at this point i might just consider leaving,” He finished as she looked towards the stairs as Neckros vanished

“Raiden, I’m guessing?” She called out as he appeared with his hands in his coat

“Well, I’m not what you call sneaky,” He shrugged as he sat down against a wall as he faced her “What’s up? Really, I mean,”

“Would you laugh if I explained?” She asked him honestly

“I would!” Neckros said in her head

“No promises,” He said truthfully as she sat in silence before beginning

“I was a loner, still am, for a ‘Very’ long time I was alone, no one to talk to, or even hate. Then I met Blaze, he was the oddest person I’ve ever met, still is, but then he brought me to the festival and all of you just… accepted me, you knew nothing about me and yet you laughed and had fun with me around,”

“For once I felt I had people I could be happy with, but a part of me felt that if I got close to anyone, I’ll lose them again, just like the one friend I had so long ago,” Serafin finished as she took in a deep breath and let it out

Then she saw the shadow looming over her and looked up to see Raiden looking down with a smirk. His hand held out to her.

“Well I promise, you won’t lose me, that I can promise,” He said casually as Serafin felt her face heat up slightly as she gulped and slowly took his hand "I've seen the craziest things happen at this school and even been face-to-face with death and yet, here i am, so i'll be fine,"

“Why would you make a promise like that?” She asked as he lightly tapped his head

“Because out of the rest, I’m probably the most careful of the bunch, unlike you, who decided to agree to a bet, made by Rainbow of all people,” He said with a shrug as Serafin looked at him with confusion, then smiled ever so slightly

“Ok then, but you also agreed to the bet, so you can't complain when i beat you,” She warned as she walked ahead

“Duly noted,” He finished with a small laugh

“So, I guess you finally have a real friend,” Neckros teased as she rolled her eyes, her frown returning

“I have you, Blaze and, KAI, don’t i?” She added as he nodded

“Touché,”
