Two and half months later

Within a small carriage that was magically driving through the empty streets of Canterlot at night, there sat three anxious ponies. Shining Armor sat in the middle, with his wife to his left and his mother on his right. He held their hands as they waited to arrive at their secret destination.

"You nervous?" Cadance asked Velvet.

"Kind of hard not to be" Velvet replied as her right hand absentmindedly rubbed her swollen stomach. "I've never exactly had a baby magically phased out of me. What about you?"

"Well I've never exactly had a partially developed baby phased into me. So yeah."

"Hey, I'm sure it'll be fine" Shining soothed his two mares. Though if one were to look into his mind, they would find paranoid, hysterical babbling. Thankfully his Royal Guard training allowed him to keep his worries within, for the most part. "I mean, you did get somepony that can be trusted with this procedure and secret, right?"

"Oh, of that I have no doubts about."

They finally arrived after fifteen minutes that felt like hours. Shining Armor and Cadance were quick to exit so the former could help his mother get down. Velvet gladly took her son's hand as she got out and used the single step of the carriage. She placed a hand back on her stomach, feeling movement within.

"More kicking?" Shining asked, getting a nod in response. "It's like he knows what's happening." He had grown used to thinking of it as a boy.

"Aw, like they're saying they don't want to leave their mommy's comfy space," Cadance said in a tone that was heartfelt and a bit sad.

"Or, like they're saying they're excited to go into their new mommy's comfy space" Velvet retorted in a caring, motherly tone.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this, Velvet?" Cadance asked "I wouldn't object if you decided to carry the baby to term."

"And rob you of the chance to experience it yourself, like you wanted? I wouldn't even dream of it." Velvet went to Cadance and placed a hand on her cheek. "I'm more than happy to do this for my second daughter. Even if we're not blood related."

"Thank you, Velvet" Cadance said as she placed both her hands on Velvet's, tears forming in her eyes.

Then Velvet switched from caring to mischevious, lidding her eyes and smirking. "Plus, I went through childbirth twice. You don't get to weasel your way out of one. You're cashing in your ticket."

"Damn" Cadance grumbled, causing both of the mares to giggle.

"Hey, Cadance" Shining called "Isn't this Canterlot Castle?"

"Yeah, lower corner. Hidden entrance. Hang on." Cadance's horn ignited and the wall they had come to followed. A doorway outline formed before opening inward down the middle.

"We're meeting the doctor here?" Shining said. It was mostly an exclamation of surprise rather than an actual question.

"Is this pony in Celestia's employ?" Velvet asked.

"Mm, in a manner of speaking. Come on." Cadance led them inside and to one of a collection of rooms. They entered it and discovered it was pretty much like an ordinary hospital room for expectant mothers. Cadance and Shining helped Velvet onto one of the two medical beds. "They'll get here soon. I'll get on mine when the procedure is going to happen."

While the trio waited, they couldn't help but notice a collection of baby pictures on the wall, which Velvet and Cadance were paying more attention to than Shining. "So Shiny" Cadance said "Which of these babies do you think is the ugliest?"

"What?"

"What she said" Velvet pitched in.

"Come on Mom, Cadance, that's terrible. They're babies. They're all beautiful."

"Third one from the left?"

"Yeah, why is it staring at me?!"

"Like it knows we're watching it" Velvet said in a somewhat haunted tone.

"Looking into my soul..." The door suddenly opened. "Gah! Sorry. Hi-" Shining and Velvet froze as their eyes widened.

"Princess Celestia?!"

"Hello my little ponies" Celestia said as she walked in, looking down at a clipboard and wearing a doctor's coat. "And how are the expecting parents tonight?"

"...Shocked, to say the least," Velvet replied.

"I take it Cadance didn't tell you it was going to be me. Typical."

"I couldn't resist" Cadance said with a shit eating grin "It never gets old."

"Oh, Cadenza," Celestia said before finally looking up from the clipboard. "Well from the looks of the information Cadance provided, everything seems to have been going well."

"Wait just a minute!" Shining exclaimed. "Can we get back to the fact that you apparently know about me and my mom?!"

"Yeah, can we?!" Velvet pitched in.

"Oh please, when it comes to my family, there's not much I'm not going to know."

"Wait, how much?" Shining asked apprehensively, thinking about certain attractions to three alicorns that weren't his wife.

"..." Celestia cocked a brow at Shining with a small smile, purposefully taking her time in answering. "Enough," she finally said before giving him a wink, making him blush profusely. Suddenly, the door opened again, and one of the three alicorns Shining had been thinking of entered.

"Forgive me. I hope I'm not late."

"Not at all, sister" Celestia assured Luna.

"What's she doing here?!" Velvet asked. "Does the procedure require two ponies doing the spell?"

"No, she just wanted to watch."

"These are always the most heartwarming thing. And there have been very few since my return. I attend any new transfers that occur."

"So she knows and is okay with it too?!" Shining exclaimed.

"Are you kidding?" Celestia replied "We've been around since before the founding of Equestria. We practically invented keeping it in the family for royals."

"Popularized it is more accurate," Luna said.

"Wait," Velvet said "Then..."

"You two...?" Shining continued.

"Oh yes," Celestia confirmed as Luna moved to her side, allowing her to wrap her arm around her waist. "When you've lived as long as we have, you tend to loosen up a lot and.....do everything. Everything" she finished with a lurid smile.

"A...Eh..." Shining stammered "Is this....heaven?"

"Considering the absence of a certain fourth alicorn and Queen Chrysalis, I would have to say no" Luna answered, making Shining's eyes pop out.

"I thought you could hear me when I said not to look in my dreams!"

"I can. I just chose to look anyway. And we must say, Sir Armor. We are not opposed to the ideas you've dreamt of."

"No, we aren't" Celestia affirmed, her and Luna wiggling their eyebrows at the red faced stallion, who was in danger of passing out from the lack of blood flow to his brain.

"Hey hey hey!" Velvet exclaimed, a finger snap accompanying each hey. "I don't care if you're our top rulers. No flirting with my son and lover without my permission. Also, you're supposed to be getting this," she said while pointing to her stomach and then to Cadance "out of me and into her."

"She's right, sister" Luna said "Talks of probable bedding should be done after the procedure is done. With the intention of adding you into the mix, of course" she quickly added to Velvet, who narrowed her eyes at her.

"Hm....sounds reasonable."

"What?" Shining said, his mind still struggling to keep up with the lack of blood.

"Hey, don't forget about me!" Cadance exclaimed.

"Wouldn't dream of it, Cadenza" Celestia assured her.

Shining stumbled back, his hands reaching for something to support him. They found a small, rolling tray for medical instruments, which wobbled under his weight. "Guh....unf."

"We should proceed before we make him collapse" Celestia noted. She gestured for Cadance to get on her own respective medical bed while Shining composed himself. She then stood in between the two beds, though out of their direct path to each other. "Okay. Velvet and Cadance, I need the two of you to lay back and become as calm as possible. Resistance from either of you could result in the baby not being taken out at all or not going in. Velvet, this is going to feel like a sudden emptiness. Cadance, this will feel like a sudden fullness. Let it commence."

Velvet and Cadance did as Celestia instructed, closing their eyes and taking deep calming breaths. Celestia closed her eyes and ignited her horn. Shining created magic hands in his control for his lovers to hold onto. They both gave their respective hands an appreciated rub with their thumbs. Luna pulled up a chair, sat down hunched forward, her hands joined in front of her mouth, her eyes wide, and a camera magically levitating next to her to capture it all.

Celestia slowly gestured a hand towards Velvet, and from her horn came a slow stream of her magic, heading for Velvet. The stream rippled in a manner similar to her and her sister's manes. The stream continued, covering Velvet's swollen belly before retreating from its creator's horn, which still stayed aglow with it's own magic. Luna and Shining looked on in wonderment. For a short bit, it remained this way, the rippling magic covering Velvet's stomach. Celestia then repeated her earlier gesture with her other hand towards Cadance. The rippling magic retreated from Velvet, though still stayed attached, the rest of it slowly stretching out across the room to reach Cadance. Cadance inhaled as she felt the magic touch her.

For another short instance, the two mares stayed connected by Celestia's magic. Then Celestia slowly moved the hand in Velvet's direction to Cadance's, and Luna and Shining saw it. Like a ghost passing through a wall, a small orb began to emerge from Velvet's stomach. They looked on in awe, a silhouette barely resembling a foal within the orb. Celestia's hand moved with the orb, guiding it towards its new home. It slowly stopped before lightly budging towards its original carrier. Celestia soothingly whispered words that Shining either couldn't make out or didn't know the language of. There was a small bit of hesitance as the orb began moving again, before going back to it's original speed.

Cadance's breathing was steady as the orb was slowly transferred into her, her stomach expanding as it occurred. Even after it was fully inside Cadance, the magical stream connecting her to Velvet was maintained, before it disconnected from the latter and moved to Cadance in a fashion similar to when it first went to Velvet. The stream collected over Cadance's newly swollen stomach as it had Velvet's, staying that way for an instance before dissipating, almost as if following the unborn child into its new home. The three mares simultaneously exhaled, Celestia's horn extinguishing at the same time.

Luna and Shining wiped tears from their eyes, the latter not having realized he had released them. "It never fails to tug on my heart strings" the former said.

"I can see why."

The three mares then opened their eyes, Velvet and Cadance slowly pushing themselves up by their hands. "Well, that certainly felt odd" Velvet spoke up.

"No kidding" Cadance responded. "Shiny, are you crying?"

"Don't judge me! You didn't see it! You're both gonna watch the video. It'd be cruel to deprive you of a sight like that."

"I concur" Luna said.

"Let me help you, Cadance" Shining said as his wife turned to get off the bed. She gave him her thanks as he assisted her.

"Whoa."

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Just not used to the extra weight."

Meanwhile, Velvet couldn't help but notice something. "My stomach is still big."

"Yes" Celestia said "One of the unfortunate inevitabilities of pregnancy, even if you get the baby magically transferred out of you. It should go away in due time like with post childbirth. As I trust Cadance's word, I believe Shining won't mind."

"I can vouch for that" Luna said. "After all, he keeps your plump, cake fueled figure in his dreams, dear sister."

"Bite me, Lulu."

"Not until we've settled our bedding talks with these three."

"Your hignesses, please stop!" a blushing Shining pleaded "This is becoming too much for me in one night."

The two princesses giggled and obliged the tortured stallion, allowing him and his mates to depart for their home. They promised they would send them a copy of he video for themselves.

Five and a half months later

Ponies passing by Canterlot's main hospital would jump from the unearthly howls of pain that would occasionally emit from it, along with the shaking of the building that accompanied them. Parent's would cover their children's ears when they heard the thunderous swearing. This made everypony give the structure a wide berth as they passed it.

From within, staff, patients, and anypony accompanying a patient, wore looks of horror as though the Devil himself had come to them and told them in gruesome detail what unspeakable torment waited in Tartarus. Newborn foals in the maternity ward wailed from the noise.

Celestia and Luna burst through the main doors in a panic. Most were too shook to really notice their arrival. The two princesses beheld a handful of hospital staff strewn about the floor, each one clutching a hand and staring at it in horrified pain. "She's here."

The sister princesses rushed to the front desk, peering over to find the one manning it huddled beneath in terror. "Excuse me. Could you tell us where to find Pri-"

"FOR FUCKS SAKE! GET THIS THING OUT OF ME!!!"

"I believe we can just follow that, dear sister."

"Never mind, we can find our way to her, thank you."

"DID THIS BABY GLUE A RAILWAY SPIKE TO ITS HEAD?! AND STEAL CELESTIA'S WINGS?!" The princesses found the room their niece resided in easily. They burst through the doors and bore witness to a horrifying sight. "Oh, I see you got some replacements, auntie."

Cadance lay on her hospital bed, her mane a frazzled mess, her teeth gritted, and her eyes tear stained and glowing red. In her hands she held her husband and mother in law's hands. They were mostly laying on the floor, desperately trying to remove their own hands from their bodies using magic constructs, which were being blocked by Cadance's magic. Velvet was using a jackhammer while her son was using a chainsaw.

"Help us!" Shining pleaded.

"Unfortunately, I believe the only way to do that is to get the baby out of her" Luna replied.

"Speaking of..." Celestia said as she looked around the room, discovering that a doctor and two nurses were huddled against the wall in fear. "Why aren't you helping her?!"

"With all due respect your highness, ARE YOU BLIND?!" she exclaimed as she gestured in an exaggerated fashion towards the Tartarus born demon poorly disguising itself as a pony.

"Ugh, amateurs" Celstia scoffed as she levitated a coat, gloves, and surgical mask to her before magically shoving them out. "If you're not going to help then get the hell out." Celestia went to Cadance and used her magic to lift the sheet. "Luna, I'm going to need you to attend to our patient upstairs."

"Cadenza, I'm going to need you to release Shining and Velvet" Luna said, needing the space to be at her niece's side.

"No, I will see you all in Tartarus first!"

"I'm confused" Velvet spoke up as she continued trying to jackhammer her hand off through Cadance's magic "I was under the impression we were there already."

"Luna, you know what to do."

*SLAP*

Cadance released a long, offended gasp, along with her husband and mother in law. The pair crumpled to the floor with heaves of relief, bundling up and clutching their hands like the hospital staff before them. "What the shit, auntie?!"

"Trust me. Having a partner, let alone two, with a hook or prosthetic hand isn't as interesting as it sounds."

"What?"

"Too bad, because I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need it" Shining said.

"Me too."

"I wish Cadance hadn't burned through the hospital's entire supply of morphine."

Celestia and Luna rolled their eyes as the latter magically teleported the pair away to get some ice for their hands. Luna then allowed Cadance to take her hand and raised her eyebrows at the pressure. "Wow, Shining and Velvet should get medals."

"I need something for the other hand. Please!" Cadance pleaded.

"Luna" Celestia indicated. Luna proceeded to magically summon a bottle of hard cider into Cadance's waiting hand, who quickly began to down a quarter of the contents in one swig. Celestia instructed her to breath through the ordeal for fifteen minutes before it was time. "Okay sweetie, I'm gonna need you to push."

"Hrngh!" Cadance grunted as she started making cracks appear in her cider bottle.

"Good, goo-, oh. I see what you meant by railway spike. Okay, now once more. Push!"

"Arrrrrgh!"

"I see the wings! Which you also weren't kidding about. Okay, one or two more should do it. Push Cadenza! Push!"

Not too far down the hall, Shining and Velvet waited with a bucket of ice each for their hands. Velvet was sitting in a chair while Shining paced back and forth, using his free arm to hug the bucket.

"Shiny, everything will be okay."

"I know, it's just...ugh! I feel so helpless out here!" Shining angrily exclaimed as he kicked over a chair. "What if there's a birth defect?! You heard Cadance! What if there aren't enough hands and hooves?! Or too many?!"

*SLAP*

"Ow! What the hell, mom?!"

"I've been waiting for a chance to slap you ever since you caught the last one, even if it was a magic slap. And you listen to me. That baby is going to be fine. No, it's going to be perfect. You know how I know that?"

"Mother's intuition?"

"Hm, well there is that" Velvet said with a chuckle as she stood and approached her son, using her magic to hold her own bucket. She placed her free hand on Shining's cheek and brought his forehead to hers, smiling sweetly at him. "But also because it's coming from two perfect mothers. And a perfect father." Shining returned his mother's smile and used his magic to hold his bucket so that he could gently hold his mother's wrist.

The pair jumped when they heard one of Cadance's screams. "That brings back memories," Velvet said. They then retook their seats, leaning on each other as they waited.

After a handful of minutes, a final scream erupted and died with an exhale. Velvet and Shining gasped when they heard tiny crying from down the hall. The bolted out of their chairs and ran to the room, leaving their dropped ice buckets behind. They burst through the door and gasped at what they saw.

Cadance lay on her bed, her tired face and frazzled mane the only remnants of her previous state. She looked down lovingly at a small bundle in her arms that she held to an exposed breast. Small coos came from the bundle as it fed on its second mother's milk. Off to the side stood the royal sisters, looking at their niece with prideful smiles.

"Hey you two. Come meet our daughter."

"Let me take care of their hands real quick," Celestia said before her horn flashed, magically mending their hands.

Shining and Velvet slowly approached the bed. Velvet gasped again and covered her mouth as tears began to stream from her eyes. Shining formed a small smile as tears started to form in his eyes. Within the bundle was a light pink filly, a purple mane with blue highlights on her head. Not to mention a horn that would make teen unicorns jealous.

"I know you always referred to her as a boy Shiny-"

"She's perfect" Shining said, his voice almost a whisper. "I wouldn't want her any different." Shining put his arm around his wife, giving her head a kiss before nuzzling it.

"*sniff* She...She's so precious" Velvet said shakily, a hand over her heart as she continued to release tears. " She just sends my heart a flurry! I almost can't believe you two made her."

"Of course you can't," Shining said before taking her hand "Because we three made her."

"I can confirm that" Celestia spoke up "I checked her with my magic. Cadance's DNA was successful in contributing to her development after the transfer. All three of you are her birth parents."

"See? You were right. She's perfect because she came from all three of us. She's your daughter too."

"My daughter" Velvet said in wonderment as Shining pulled her to put his other arm around her. "Our daughter."

"Thank you for helping us and helping me go through this, Velvet" Cadance said. "It was worth going through child birth to get her. In fact, I don't think I should've done anything less to get her."

"We're proud of you Cadie," Shining said.

"Yes we are" Velvet affirmed.

"As are we" Celestia said as she hugged Luna by her side. the two of them having their own dried tear streaks. "So have you come up with a name?"

"I'm a little ashamed to say I haven't," Cadance replied. "I was mostly focussed on her conception and development.

"Same here," Velvet said.

"Well, I actually thought of some names" Shining said. "One if we got a girl, and one for a boy."

"What girl name did you think of?" Luna asked.

"Negasonic-"

"No" Cadance and Velvet said simultaneously and firmly.

"You didn't even hear the whole thing."

"We don't care. No."

"At least hear the rest" he insisted.

".....What is it?"

"Negasonic Filly Warhead."

"Nope."

"Fine" Shining grumbled, making his two mates roll their eyes and the princesses chuckle.

"I don't even think I wanna know what the boy name was," Cadance said.

"Stormageddon."

"Oh, God no."

"Not even if she had been born a boy, Shiny" Velvet said.

"Well, I'm sure you'll think of something in time" Celstia assured them. "Would you like me to notify Twilight?"

"I think Cadance could use some rest first" Velvet said.

"Yeah, like two weeks of it" Cadance affirmed.

"Very well" Celestia said with a chuckle. The trio took to staring at their daughter in emotional bliss.

"Our perfect little unicorn" Shining said dreamily, which made Cadance shift her eyes to her aunts. Shining and Velvet had been too focused on the pain in their hands and trying to remove them to really pay attention to Cadance's screams.

"Actually" Cadance said as she used her hand to loosen the bundle, allowing the newborn's large wings to fluff out to full span. This made Velvet and Shining's eyes become dinner plates, while Celestia instinctively reached behind her to make sure her own wings weren't in fact stolen.

"Whoa," was all Velvet managed to say initially. "I'm suddenly much more relieved not to have given birth to her. And I have maybe the highest respect for you Cadance."

"Thanks" Cadance replied with a chuckle. "Shiny? You got anything to say?"

"A...gi....heh....alicorn" Shining squeaked before fainting dead away.

"That seems about right"' Celestia said.

Two weeks later

Velvet, Shining, and Cadance stood at the train station of the Crystal City, awaiting two special guests. Shining held his wriggling, cooing daughter in his arms. The trio were soon joined by a familiar relative.

"Even after she destroyed multiple floors of a castle and almost caused the City to be consumed by a snowstorm, I still can't get enough of her!" Twilight Sparkle gushed as she wiggled her fingers in front of her niece/sister, who proceeded to grab two and move them like the cranks of a machine.

"I know what you mean" Velvet said as she gave her newest (grand)daughter a light tickle.

Twilight neared her mouth to her brother's ear and whispered into it. "I hope ours ends up just as adorable and precious."

"We're working on it, sweetie" Velvet whispered in reply. "Don't worry. You'll get your transfer too."

"If it wasn't for your pesky alicorn biology, you probably could've gotten a bun directly in the oven with your welcome back present a while ago," Shining whispered. He was referring to when he first returned from his mother's to a very interesting situation that resulted in he and Twilight crossing the same border he and Velvet had. "Or your repeat givings of the same present."

"At least we've gotten to have fun" Twilight replied with a light giggle. Unbeknownst to her, Celestia, not believing her former student would be so active, had withheld some information. Ascended alicorns had a handful of years before their biology was completely alicorn, including their reproductive system. Years that Twilight had not yet passed. So, also unbeknownst to her, a bun was in fact in the oven.

"Hey, not so loud" Shining urged. "Your friends are right there behind us." Shining's three mates shared a quiet laugh before Twilight spoke again.

"Thanks again, mom. I really appreciate that you're trying for me."

"Of course, Twilight. I'm more than happy to. And I'll make sure to tell you once we know." Velvet's words had a hidden meaning to them. By "we" she meant "more than one of us." She had to restrain herself from rubbing her stomach to avoid giving away her surprise. She found out the day before, but didn't want overshadow the visiting of her (grand)daughter.

A train soon pulled up, and from it came Night Light and Crystal Rose. "Sorry we're late" the former said. "You would not believe the crazy weather that delayed our train. Came out of nowhere," Night ended with a chuckle. The others present briefly shifted their eyes to each other.

"But it was all worth it to meet this adorable little angel" Crystal said as she approached Shining to get a look at the baby. "Aw, she's so precious" she said as she lightly scratched her tummy. "Say hi to your future grandmother-in law."

"Whoa now," Night cut in "Let's not get ahead of ourselves there."

"Oh please, Nighty" Crystal said exaggeratedly "We're pretty much rope already, all we need is to officially be tied into a knot."

"I don't exactly see a mare like you to be the marrying type" Night teased as he gave his marefriend a light shove.

"Says the stallion who didn't even stay married" Crystal teased back, delivering her own light push. The couple traded a few more good natured jabs and shoves.

Everyone could see they had formed quite the bond in their relationship. Cadance and her love partners couldn't help but see it as similar to a bond between siblings, the former especially. It is pretty fitting, considering what I found out about them with my little investigation. Which we're gonna have to discuss, like soon. Cadance broke out of her thoughts and giggled at Night and Crystal's behavior.

"Well, regardless of how you two continue in your relationship, I'm sure the baby would love to have you as part of her family."

"With all due respect, your highness" Crystal said as Shining passed the baby to her "Are you going to actually name the little angel? Night told me you somehow haven't come up with a name yet. Are we supposed to spend the whole visit calling her The Baby?" she asked with a chuckle.

"Actually, me and Shining did come up with a name a few days ago."

"We thought of it after remembering something my mom said when she was born" Shining said as he looked to his curious mother with a loving expression. "Flurry Heart."

Velvet gasped as she put a hand to her mouth. "She just sends my heart a flurry" Velvet repeated her past words with a shaky voice as tears formed in her eyes. She moved her hand to her chest, breathing shakily as she smiled and allowed her tears to flow. "Shiny, Cadance....I love it."

"It's such a delightful and apt name for the dear" Rarity said.

"I think it's lovely" Twilight said as she leaned towards Flurry, before kissing her cheek, making the filly giggle.

"Well, Ah'd say it's about time we head out" Applejack said "This whole visit has really worn us out."

"You all go on ahead" Twilight said. "I'm gonna stay behind to spend some time with my family." The others consented to Twilight's wishes and boarded the train. "Actually," Twilight said to her father after the train departed "There is another reason I decided to stay behind."

"Oh?" Night replied as Crystal gave Flurry to Velvet.

"Yeah" Shining continued "We...have something we have to tell you."

"A few things actually" Cadance cut in. "Things you both need to know."

Night and Crystal looked at each other quizzically as if asking the other if they might know what they were talking about. "What is it?" Crystal asked.

"It's probably better if we discuss it in private at the castle. Cadance, Twilight?"

"We're on it" Twilight said before she and Cadance charged their horns, preparing to teleport everyone.

Velvet was a tad nervous about the coming discussion. But she had been mentally preparing herself since they had all decided to inform Night and Crystal. And some interesting roleplay she and Night had partook in during their dating period made her a bit more confident.

The small, adorable, bundle of joy in her arms also helped assuage her worries. She fought back more tears as she stared down at Flurry, who smiled and cooed up at her while stretching her hands out for her. She was still in slight disbelief that she helped bring such a blessing into the world. It almost made her forget that another was on the way.

Velvet turned her head when she felt an arm go around her shoulders. She saw Shining smiling at her lovingly as he hugged her, before planting a kiss on her check and resting his head against hers to look at Flurry. Something else to ease her nerves.
