My doctor has given me 24 hours to live, but before that, I want to tell you my life story, all the ponies I've met, the adventures I've been on, everything I've ever done, so that you may pass it on and my story will be forever told. Well, first you should know about me, my name is Prince Starlight, I was supposed to be born straight into royalty, but it's not always as simple as that. When I was born, my stuck-up parents decided to abandon me when they found out via genetic screening that I was 25 percent earth pony, a "non-pure" Alicorn. They left me on the doorstep of an orphanage in Manehatten, there I was left for quite a while before anypony even noticed me. I grew up happy nonetheless, but all that changed when a tragic event at the age of 10 changed my life forever. I'll not bore you with any more of the details, now, I will tell you my story. 23rd January, 2000. I was born in the private hospital next to Canterlot castle, a mandatory genetic screen for impurities or genetic conditions was carried out, it showed that I had 25 percent earth pony allelles in my genes. I was fostered by a poor earth pony family, the only family I've ever known. They cared for me, provided me with a family, my time with them was the happiest I ever had. 8th July, 2009. My life was at it's happiest right at this point, I had a family, friends, a good education, everything I ever needed, I had. School was great, I had lots of friends, straight A's in all subjects, I was so happy. 5th August, 2010. This was the day that changed my life forever, It was a normal day, I went to school in the morning, went to a friend's house to hang out, came home, but something wasn't right. 7PM I unlocked the door, locked it then put the key under the welcome mat. I went upstairs to my bedroom and fell asleep, little did I know that there was another pony in the house, waiting for the moment to strike. 12:14 AM I heard a noise, similar to a window opening and closing, so I went to the source of the sound. I opened the door and there he was, a tall, dark Alicorn, his markings very similar to my own, standing over the bed where my foster parents slept. I charged a spell, getting ready to subdue him, but then, without warning, he lurched at my parents and slit their throats with a jagged hoof-duster made of diamond, blood splattered everywhere. I fired the spell a second too late, he jumped out of the window and a dark aura rose up through the crack in the window and was absorbed by my horn. I felt a sudden empowering, my body tingling with raw dark energy. I collapsed on the blood-soaked bed, sobbing over my parents' lifeless bodies. This was the moment the darkness entered me. This was the moment my life changed. But I suppose you're probably wondering: "What is "the darkness"?" The darkness was once an all-powerful being, before Discord, before Equestria.
