The sound of soft piano music could be heard throughout the home in Canterlot. A paint brush slowly moved along a white canvas to the melody being held between a pony’s teeth. They moved the brush away and dipped it into a glass of water before cleaning the ultramarine paint.
The pony had stood in a medium sized office- paper strewed along the ground with several sketches and paint staining the wooden floor. Even their hair had been stained by a lime green color. A soft smile spreads on their face as they soon gotten the shade of amethyst ready and began painting. The sun shined through the window by their desk that they stood by, shining onto their violet eyes.
Chapter 1: Into The Unknown
Visions flashed through her mind. Distorted images of two shining lights approaching her view and a scream in a distance.
Suddenly she was snapped into reality, she sat up quickly letting out a gasp until beginning to cough from dehydration. Her vision slowly cleared and it took a moment to notice her surrounding. They were sitting on the grass near a trail behind a large building that is most likely a warehouse. Where am I..? Was the first thing she asked herself. Standing up stumbling a bit on her hooves, the thought then came to her and she looks down at herself. Dark pink hooves, a confused expression came on her face. Hooves? Her mind was fuzzy- a panic came over her when she realized. "I...I can't remember anything..." This was the truth, the mare tried her hardest to come up with the recent memory and all that came to mind was that nightmare.
The earth pony then looks up seeing the trail and a field in the distance. I better figure out where I am first before I start panicking more- maybe someone can help. This helped her boost some confidence in herself and her panic slowly diminished. She began to trot across the grass and onto the trail letting it lead to her destination. The first thing she noticed was the silence- no birds chirp and even the wind was nonexistent. Noting this she questioned herself if theres anyone living here. No, I can't think of that. I need to know for sure.
Soon as the pony trotted she could notice another building coming into view. The building itself was a large white house- the paint chipped and cobwebs covering bits of the windows and steps as plants were overgrown covering the building. Even the nearby cellar door located outside of the house had been completely inaccessible by the weeds and roots covering it. She became cautious about it, there was no way to describe it but it gave a sense of danger to it. Instead of stopping though she kept going, hoping there was at least someone in this run down building that could help her. As she walks up to the door she could hear the creaking of the ancient wood under her. Then she opens the door and walks inside.
The one noticeable thing was the atmosphere, it was completely different to the calmness of outside. Instead it was of the unknown, she had a feeling of dread wash over her. None of the lights were on and it was completely enveloped in darkness with only the light that was just now coming in through the recent open door. She then started walking inside and the door soon slammed behind her causing her to spun around. "H-Hey!" The pony screams as she runs over and pounds on the door. There was no answer and the darkness consumed her vision. "Oh no..." She mutters as she looks back. How would she be able to see where she was going now? Then she started to move along the dark hallway, placing one of her hooves on the wall as she moved to get a sense of where she was going. Then something hit the ground nearby causing her ears to perk up. What was that? Her thought suddenly asked herself, should she have gone towards the noise? Thats when a faint light was seen from under a distant door from where the noise came from. The earth pony then trotted over to the door and opened it, what she saw was a light of a indoor lamp. It was perfect for a pony to hold it along the handle in their teeth and so realizing this she moves close to it and picked it up, soon looking around at her surroundings. It was a small room, a what seemed to been a bedroom. There was a double bed, a sliding closet, and an extra door nearby. The room- strangely, seemed...familiar to her. It was odd to realize this and the place was also alienated to the amnesiac. Thats when she heard voices of two people, one a child and one a mother.
"Mom...do you hear that? Something's knocking on the door." The faint voice of the child asks.
"I know, I hear it to. Hold on..I'll check." The second voice says as footsteps could be heard before vanishing. Then the door began to make sounds of knocking as soon as the voices stopped, her attention snapped towards it. There was a pause before knocking again. Instead of asking she became silent, who was that...? The knocking became louder. She slowly began to approach it, not noticing the light on the indoor lamp seemed to begin to flicker. All she wanted to do was know- if there was anyone behind that door that she could talk to. Maybe they could even help her. Slowly, she creaked open the door. The cold wind blew through it, her eyes squinted slightly at the light and slowly as they opened up there was nothing. "What...?" Was the first thing she asked herself, it was the attic and several boxes laid around. Some of the floorboards had been missing revealing the bottom floor and an old cracked window showing the outside. The pony was about to leave before her vision began to distort, her body froze in spot and couldn't move. Without her knowing, a figure of a strange creature was behind her and hidden from view of he darkness. The world around her began to spin and fade, and soon she collapsed onto the ground. Her vision began to darken and soon she faded into black. Thats when it began dragging her back into the darkness. Somewhere away from there.
