The cloudless sky swirled with reds, pinks, and oranges as the setting sun began to dip slowly past the horizon. A light breeze tugged gently at the hair of two girls sitting side by side on the steps of Canterlot High, their faces illuminated by the last fleeting rays of sunlight. The girl on the right stared down at a book in her hands, while the girl on the left gazed out at the darkening landscape. Eventually, she turned her attention to her companion.

"Is something wrong, Sunset?" Twilight asked, causing the fiery-haired girl to jump from surprise as she was dragged from her thoughts.

"Huh? Oh, um, no...no, I'm fine,"
