Rarity gazed at the stain glass window before her. Her crystal blue eyes gazed as she saw the pony before her. Her dark green eyes, her black and blue body, her black and blue alicorn wings. It was Nightmare Moon. The white unicorn looked down at her hooves as she saw blood on them. She looked at her right forearm and saw something carved on it.

You were made to rule.

Rarity tried not to focus on it. This had to be fake. She knew it had. She didn't even remember anyone carving that into her arm. She didn't even feel anything. Heck, she didn't even feel anything now. So it had to be a vision. It had to be.

Hoofsteps could be heard down the hall. Rarity's ears flinched as her eyes went back onto the window.

"Hey. You doing okay?"

Rarity silently gulped to herself and turned towards her friend Twilight. The purple unicorn's eyes were filled with worry. She sensed it. "Yes. I'm fine darling," she replied.

Twilight's gaze went onto the glass window as Rarity's went back down to her hooves. No blood. She then gazed on her forearm. Nothing. She knew it was a vision.

After a brief amount of silence, Twilight turned towards Rarity. "Are you interested?"

Rarity looked up from her hooves and turned towards Twilight. "In what?"

"In Nightmare Moon," she stated.

Rarity clenched her teeth. "Why would you think that darling?"

Twilight shrugged. "You have been looking at this window for hours. Every time I check up on you, your gaze is up here."

The fashionista unicorn sighed.

"Hey, it's fine to be interested in this kind of stuff. I myself have been looking up Nightmare Moon in a book I found," she admitted.

The unicorn nervously bit her lip. "What did you find?"

The other unicorn frowned. "Hardly anything. It only showed what Nightmare Moon was meant to do," she said, shaking her head.

The fashionista gave her an confused expression.

She gave her friend a tiny smile. "Well, it wasn't a very good book," she chuckled. This caused Rarity to chuckle as well.

Another breif moment of silence occurred until Rarity sighed. "Maybe your right."

"About what?"

"I have been looking up here for a long time. Maybe I need some sleep," she said with a tiny smile.

"That's a great idea," Twilight says.

"Well bye now darling," Rarity says, heading out the door.

"Wait Rarity!"

She stopped in mid step. "Yes darling?"

The purple unicorn smiled. "It's getting late. Maybe you should sleep here for tonight," Twilight suggested.

The white unicorn was mentally freaking out. "That's nice of you darling, but I'll be fine," she lied.

Twilight grinned. "It'll be fine. And Princess Celestia wouldn't mind. Come on," she pushed.

Rarity gulped silently. She couldn't get out of this one. If she decline again, she would sound suspicious. Twilight was her best friend, so she knew she would be doomed. She had to do it. Fear overwhelmed her as she opened her mouth. "Okay," she finally croaked.

Rarity was walking on a pond filled with water. She walked perfectly on the pond as she saw her reflection gaze back at her. She stayed at that one spot for a moment until a vision of Nightmare Moon came into sight.

"LET ME OUT!"

Rarity gasped as she was sucked deep into the water which instantly turned into fire. She clenched her eyes shut as she concentrated on her magic. A blue magical aura escaped her white horn, protecting herself from the flames. Soon, a blue laser beam shot through the flames, making them disappear.

She raised up and began to gallop, hearing dark evil laughs coming from the background. A blue magical dust came swirling towards her and grabbed her throat.

"I... I... won't let it happen," she protested.

"It's ganna happen anyways, why not accept it?"

"It won't happen! I'll make sure of it!"

Soon, the dust took form into Nightmare Moon who was now holding the unicorn by her throat. She bared her fangs and came close to Rarity's neck. She bit it a few times as wounds appeared. They were dark black and poison green. Fear overwhelmed her once more, but tried to get out of the villain's grip. Nightmare Moon then went close to her ear, causing her to flinch.

"That's what you said when you were a filly," she whispered.

Her blue eyes winded in realization. She dropped Rarity onto the ground as a magical aura escaped her own horn. As the task was completed, we see a flashback of filly Rarity looking at a huge rock.

Filly Rarity looked like she was ganna cry. Her horn just dragged her here. For what? All she seen was a rock. "A rock? This couldn't possibly be my destiny," she said.

"It is not young child," a voice said. Rarity turned around and saw a white raven floating towards her with a book in her wings and a look of pity. The young unicorn recognized her.

"Areola?! Did you say this wasn't my destiny?! Great! What is it then?!"

Areola saw the happiness Rarity was portraying. She didn't want Rarity to worry about this, but it was HER destiny and she must know. Good or bad.

"Your destiny involves destroying Ponyville," she croaked.

Rarity's grin slowly turned into a frown. "I... don't understand," she admitted.

The raven's frown deepened. "In this book, the legend says that Nightmare Moon will strike one day: In Heaven's bueaty, darkness shall' rise until everypony freezes to death," she recited from a page from the book.

"No... It can't be..." Rarity cried.

"I know you have been a great pony my child, but this is true. Your part of the Royal Family and each of you has something dark happening," she said.

"But... this can't be real... This can't be my destiny!"

Suddenly, a rumble noise was heard from the sky. A rainbow so strong nearly blew Rarity and Areola away. However, the rainbow onlmaking the rock clearer, gems shining in and out as Rarity could see her reflection. However, she only seen Nightmare Moon.

"So it is true... The power is lurking inside me, and it can't be stopped," she whispered. Suddenly, a blue spark sparkled on her flank as she was finally earning her cutie mark. The cutie mark was three blue diamonds. The filly turned towards the raven who was looking in her book. She flipped through page after page until a picture of Rarity's cutie mark came up. Areola gasped.

"What's wrong?"

"That's Nightmare Moon's deed. To create everlasting night which would freeze everypony to death. Those three diamonds are like ice but filled with more death and poison," she explained.

Rarity couldn't believe it. Her destiny was to destroy the world? Her destiny wasn't making ponies happy. Her destiny wasn't loving and taking care of animals. Her destiny wasn't learning about magic and soon when strong and wise enough teaching others about it. No. Her destiny was to kill everyone she loves by letting a monster out and accepting her fate.

"No," she firmly said.

"No?"

"No! I want let it happen! I'll find a way!"

"To what?"

"To prevent it from happening!"

"But you can't. It's a prophecy."

"What if it's wrong?"

Areola didn't have an answer to that.

"I'll control it better. I promise I won't let this happen," she said.

"You promised, yet it's still ganna happen," she teased.

"No it won't! I will find a way to stop it! It's my destiny! I should be able to control it!"

"But you don't," she smirked.

The unicorn grew angrier. "IT'S A LIE!"

"A lie?" Dark magic escaped her horn as another vision came into view. It was nighttime. Snow was everywhere as she saw everypony frozen to death and others weak. A weak and bruised Twilight had gotten her attention even more.

"No."

"Yes... Here it is. You were made to rule Rarity."

Her eyes widened as tears were behind her eyes. "No! This isn't real! It can't be," she told herself.

"It's the future. It's the world's destiny. Your destiny," she said darkly.

"No," she whispered in shock.

"You will kill them," she teased.
"No!" she yelled.
"They will fear you as they freeze to death. You are going to destroy the world, Rarity. It's written all over your face," she said.
"NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she yelled as her eyes turned green, floating high in the air. The green aura created a dark green moon symbol and Rarity's name was carved into it. Tears rolled down from her eyes as her completely green eyes glowed even brighter.

Rarity was in the guest bed panting, crying, and sweating. A magical purple aura surrounded the door as it slammed open. The unicorn teleported by her friend.

"I heard you scream! Are you alright?!"

Rarity wiped her tears away with her hoof. "I'm okay now darling. Just... Just a bad dream. That's all," she said.

"Are you sure?"

Rarity clenched her teeth. "Positive," she said through clenched teeth. Twilight, not wanting to press the issue further, decided not to speak on it.

"Say, you want some water or something?"

"Mmm...you don't have to do that," she said.

"I insist," she smiled.

Rarity frowned before smiling a little. "Alright. I'll take some water please," she ordered playfully and calmly.

Twilight grinned. "Coming right up," she giggled, teleporting to the kitchen.

Rarity's smile than turned into a frown as she placed her hoof on her chest. "If I am not Rarity, the unicorn fashionista, the pony who loves to hang out with friends, the one with a generous, sweet side, then who am I?"
