~Canterlot Statue Gardens: Months after Sombra's Banishment~

It was months after the defeat of the tyrannical king, King Sombra, and life went on. That is...

Until the Seed of Destruction began to crack.

No one knows the true origins of this statue, not even the Celestial Sisters themselves. They only know that their father wanted them to protect it for his final wish before he died.

"My Celestia, protect the *Seed of Destruction*... and take care of your sister"

There were many speculations and rumors that went around it.

"It's an evil seed that's been sealed within the concrete!"

"No, it's just a normal statue that hosts the spirits of evil!"

"But it's a seed! It's name is the *Seed of Destruction** so it must be that.*"

There were many more but our focus on the source of the rumor, no?

"Princess Celestia!"

Celestia blinked as a guardstallion barges in, disrupting the Day Court "Yes?" she inquires politely all the while sending the nobles who gave the guardspony the stink eye before raising her hoof to stop the panting pony and dismissed her court seeing the importance from his desperate eyes.

The pony panted, nervousness clear in his eyes "The Seed your majesty!" he gasps making Celestia sit straighter, wings stiff and eyes narrow "It's beginning to crack!!" he continued and jumped when Celestia suddenly stood up and started to gallop out of the room "Awaken my sister and summon the elements along with Discord! Gather the guards, contact Princess Cadence and Shining Armor! Immediately!" she ordered towards the other guardsponies that were at the entrance as she galloped to her tower.

While she did she had passed the statue gardens and saw the infamous Seed of Destruction, who's bottom was cracked and was slowly, very slowly making it's way upwards.

She galloped faster and went into her personal chambers looking around frantically, her horn a lit as she used a tracking spell to find what she needed. She perked as her spell found it and quickly summoned it, what she summoned was a red chest with black designs but it looked quite ominous and slightly demonic looking.

Twilight was worried, her friends were worried, even Discord was worried. They had brought with them the Elements of Harmony.

"I wonder what happened to have Princess Celestia summon us with the Golden Ribbon. Not even Discord or Sombra had it!" she said, the others nodding and while had it been any other situation Discord would have been hurt and be well Discord but Twilight had a point.

The Golden Ribbon was very important, especially if Celestia herself used it. It signified ultra importance and more, not many ponies use it and Celestia was even less in fact in the last 200 years she never used the Golden Ribbon! No one used a golden ribbon with their scrolls anymore unless it contained ancient magic or something extremely and ultimately important.

Before anypony else could say anything the chariot stopped as they arrived in Canterlot.

Quickly they were led to the throne room and meet with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

"Princess Celestia! Princess Luna!" they called out as they entered the room, they found the Celestial sisters waiting with grim faces along with a red chest with ominous black designs on it. The two sisters greeted the Mane Six plus One but the usual greeting was laced with tension and grim.

"Princess Celestia, Princess Luna what's going on?" Twilight asked as Princess Luna excuses herself to leave, taking the red chest with her. Celestia's face looked worried and grim "The Seed of Destructionhas cracked Twilight... We believe it may be 'blooming'" she says making Twilight gasp and Discord straightened in surprise.

The other 5 however sent a confused look at each other "Um, princess? What's this 'Seed of Destruction' you're talking about?" Rainbow asks loudly and surprisingly it was Discord who answered.

"There is a statue in the statue gardens that's called 'Seed of Destruction', nopony knows where it came from or what it is. Not even Celestia and Luna or myself, but we doknow it is powerful, extremely so that even my chaos magic couldn't affect it..." he said with a serious face as the others looked at him in surprise "Before when I had taken over Equestria I had tried to make the Seed 'bloom' but I never succeeded because whatever's in that statue is powerful and magic resistant... It seems really familiar though but I can't remember why it feels so familiar" he murmurs but it was loud enough for the whole group to hear.

Celestia nodded "Discord is right, neither Luna nor myself knows of its origins but our Father did" the Mane 6 gasped at the mention of her father but she paid no heed and continued "However he has never told me about the statue, only that it has to be protected. In fact, his dying wish was for it to be protected and for me to... take care of my sister..." she says somberly lowering the mood.

The Sun Goddess shook her head before looking back up in determination "I had failed my Father's words for my sister, though she has come back to me I had still failed but I will not fail again. But I may just have to as I know so little of the Seed, I had tried to research it but nothing came up. Come we must go to the gardens, it's cracking very slowly but soon it will awaken" she urged as they trotted out of the throne room and into the gardens.

When they arrived at the gardens they gasped as they saw the statue.

It was littered with cracks that were slowly going all over the statue, heading for the top but somehow they had not fallen into pieces. Around the cracking statue were guardsponies that all held their spears while the unicorns made a barrier around the statue should anything happen.

Princess Luna stood with them, the red chest in front of her as she also used her own magic to aid their barrier "Greetings once again. We see you sought to join us, very good." Luna said to them as they approached. Pinkie suddenly rushed over, poking at the chest "Ooo~ Mysterious red box! What'sit do?!" she asks the Night Goddess eagerly.

"Our Father hath given us this chest in his will, the letter that had cometh with the chest just said the chest would help with the Seed of Destruction" Luna told them as they turned to look at the statue, Fluttershy whimpered and hid behind Discord who smiled reassuringly at her.

"Woah, that thing looks like it could pop any minute! And with the name 'Seed of Destruction' it can't be anything good!" Rainbow said, eyes narrow in determination as she tensed just looking at the seed "It's designs are quite lovely though" Rarity said with a small smile as she eyed the carved diamonds but frowned at the cracks that ruined the designs.

"Well, Ah reckon we should all stand guard. Nopony knowswhat is can do so keep yer guards up and be ready for anything" Applejack told them sternly with them nodding in agreement, the princess of the sun smiled "Very wise words Applejack" she complemented and the farm pony blushed and just readjusted her stetson "Aw shucks..."

The some-what peaceful moment was broken as one of the guardsponies yelled that the statue was completely cracked! Small bits of stone were beginning to fall off as wisps of red energy were leaking out of the statue.

"Everypony stand your ground!" Celestia and Luna commanded as their horns sparked to life along with their wings open and tense, Discord looked determined as he glanced at Fluttershy who sent him a thankful smile, the elements around the Mane 6 glowed with potential energy.

The Seed was beginning to 'Bloom'
