Not really my first fic, but my first fic written in english, I hope you guys don't need too much eye bleach
Why there is a pony in the class?
*beep* *beep*
*beep* *beep*
"Ugh... I'm awake..." Mumbles John while he gets up from the bed, after he shut down the alarm clock (and mutter some profanities under his breath), he goes to the kitchen to eat the breakfast his mother prepared. "Morning sweetie." but John only hums in response and ate the prepared salad sandwich that his mother made.
After he was done with the breakfast, John get ready for the school and wait for the school bus, after a few minutes the bus arrive and John's mother give him some money "Here's the emergency money, and be careful and do not spend it for silly things." John only sighs "I know..." and enter the bus.
After the bus arrives at the school, John goes straight to the class and start playing games on his phone.
The bell rings signaling the beginning of classes and John put the phone in his pocket and get the books out of his bag and pretend to listen to the class while he draws random things on his notepad.
On the second period, the teacher calls the students to make an announcement and that piques John's interest a bit
"Hello students, today we are going to have a new student with us, her name is Jade Field," after a brief pause, he continues "Introduce yourself, Jade"
In the front of the class, is a green earth pony with yellow mane and tail with emerald green eyes, a cutie mark of the back of a Hearthstone card and she is wearing some sort of necklace, however, John can only stare in disbelief, "The teacher is introducing a pony to the cla-"
Jade bow her head a little and introduce herself "Hello, my name is Jade, I hope we can become good friends."
John's mouth hung open "And she talks..."
The teacher then ask the class "Anyone have any questions about our new student?"
Only tree students, including John, raise their hands and the teacher points to a girl close to the window and the girl asks "what is your favorite band?"
Jade thinks a bit and replies "well... I like the Pony Tones."
"Seriously?" John thinks aloud, but not loud enough for anyone to hear, and the teacher points to a boy in the middle and he asks "What do you like to do for fun?"
"Hearthstone!" Jade replies without missing a beat this time "Wow, a pony playing hearthstone? I would pay to see that..."
And the teacher finally points to John and he finally can ask his great question "Why are you a pony?" or not
Jade looks a bit nervous and every other student and teacher waits for him to finish what appeared to be a joke of some sort, after more than ten seconds of silence John ask "So? why are yo-" another students interrupt "Wait, are you serious?" John then gets a bit confused about his reaction "Of course I am. Can't you see it? yeah, she's green, but she is still a pon-" And John is interrupted again "Dude, she is not a pony-" John's patience drew short and and start to get a bit louder "YES! She is, she is even standing on four hooves, how can you not be seeing that?"
However, the teacher is having none of it and interrupt before the argument can go any further "John, go to the infirmary, Dave, go with him and give the nurse this note" the teacher write something on a paper note and give it to Dave, John reluctantly goes with Dave to the infirmary.
"I'm telling you, Dave, she is a pony, how did you not see that?" Dave only reply was "Right, such as the deer food you like to eat-" John interrupts and counter "Hey, that was only once, I didn't know that I couldn't eat the deer cookies, and besides, I was only seven at that time."
Dave only rolls his eyes and ignore him for the rest of the trip, not wanting to continue the argument in how John had eaten an entire bowl of deer cookies.
Reaching the infirmary, Dave deliver the note and John, the nurse, after reading the note, raises an eyebrow but only nods and gesture with a hand to a chair to indicate to John to sit on it, John only sighs and nods and Dave goes back to the class.
After the nurse sits on her own chair, she inquires "So, what is the problem?"
John huffs and replies "There is a pony in my class."
The nurse gives a confused glance towards John and asks "It bit you or something?"
"What? No, nobody else in class believes that the new student is a pony!"
The nurse confusedly stares at John for a few seconds until a look of realization appears on the nurse's face "Oh! I see."
John then looks at the nurse hopefully, "So?" only for it to be brutally shut by the nurse's response "Don't worry, you must be having high stress, rest for a bit and you'll be fine."
"But I'm tel-" "Rest for a bit, and you'll be fine"
After a pause, John responds "Fine... but I'm going to prove it."
Some time later, "Can I go now?" the nurse, busy writing some paper reply without looking up, "Sure, go ahead."
"Ugh, finally!"
After John is released from the infirmary, he goes back to the class, once there, he saw the pony seated, on the chair beside his own, and seeing that, he just grumbles "To all the places it can sit..." and sits on his chair and tune out to the class for a while.
After a few minutes, a folded piece of paper hit his head and falls on his desk, John, confused, pick up the paper and unfolds it, but the paper is blank, confused, he tries to search for the culprit who threw the paper but couldn't find anyone likely, and then another piece of paper hits his shoulder and falls on the ground, John crouch to pick up the other piece of paper, once he is sitting up again, he see another piece of paper on his desk, unfolded this time and with something written, John then pick up to read the note "How can you see me with my disguise?", After reading the note, John jumps and speaks a bit too loud "HA! I knew it!"
The teacher then ask "So... what is the answer?"
"huh? the answer to what?" the teacher only sigh and continue "The answer to the question I just wrote it, you said that you know the answer, I want to hear it"
John then gives a sheepish grin and replies "Oh! hehe, I wasn't paying attention..."
The teacher just sigh and say "go to detention after the class"
The rest of the class laughs at Jonh. John glares at Jade. Jade just avert her eyes.
Later at recess, John sits alone in the classroom because of his punishment...
And Jade is sitting on his side. "So... you're still going to act like crazy?"
John just sigh "What is the point? nobody will believe me anyway..."
"Oh! Well... how can you see my disguise anyway?"
John just shrugs "I dunno, how anyone can't see that you're a pony anyway?"
Jade tilts her head with an incredulous look on her face "Seriously?"
"What?"
Jade just stare at John for a little while, sighs and points to her amulet with her right hoof "The amulet I'm wearing is doing that, I don't understands much how it works... But I guess it doesn't work that well if you can see it."
"How did I not noticed that before? I just need to get the amulet and everyone will see it" John smirks internally and prompt "So, how does it work?"
Jade hesitates at that and look away "I... I dunno, the... uhh... the vendor said I had to be using to keep the disguise active or something like that, I stopped paying attention after five minutes of explanations..."
"Hmm, interesting..."
Jades glances back "What is inter..." but then, it was too late, John used the opportunity of Jade being distracted, grabbed her amulet and ran away from the classroom "HEY! GIVE IT BACK!" And Jade start pursuing the little thief...
until he reaches the male toilet.
Jade is angry now "GET OUT OF THERE AND GIVE MY AMULET BACK!! And I may not kick you to the next Tuesday!"
John just laughs "Ha! No chance, now everyone will see that I was right!"
Jade and John keep trading insults for a few minutes until Jade get silent for a time.
John started to think he had won until Jade speaks "Fine!! See if I care" and finally he gets a confirmation once he heard her hoofsteps trotting away from the toilet.
After a while, John exits the toilet and go back to the classroom. He notices that the class already started and hurry inside but was stopped by the teacher "John, go see the director!"
"What!? Why?"
"Who told you that you could leave the classroom?"
"Err..."
The teacher just sighs and resumes class and John, not wanting to stay in the spotlight any longer, goes to the director's office.
In the director's office, John sits in a chair with his eyes downcast and the director rubbing his temples, ask "What it is this time?"
"Uhh... I kinda leave the classroom... and... uhh..."
The director just sighs "I'm going to call your parents, go back to class." The director then picks his cellphone and hold a number and then start making the call while John exits the office and goes back to class.
At the end of the class, John goes to the school's gate and already see his mother waiting with a frown on her face.
John enter the car without utter a single word, once the car start moving, his mother already tell his punishment "No TV or Internet for a week."
"What!! One week!? How I'm going to make the school assignments?"
"The same way I did, in the library."
"But books are boring!"
"Want two weeks instead?"
John don't have any more arguments unless he did want to make his punishment worse, so he stayed quiet half listening to his mother rambling.
After John reached home, he goes to his room to study the amulet, but can't find anything about it except that it look like something that can be easily got in a pawn shop. Hours have passed since that and he choose to make his school assignments, he ate his dinner and then goes to bed early because of the punishment.
*beep* *beep*
*beep* *beep*
"Ugh! Stupid alarm..."
John is waking up for another routine day and preparing to go to school, once he got ready he waits for the school bus, after a few minutes, the bus arrives and then John goes to school.
Once the bus reached the school, John enter the building with the amulet in his pocket and start wondering why he couldn't find Jade, a pony is not something easy to miss "Eh, she probably is late or something..."
Before the class started, John noticed a new girl seated where Jade sit and ask "Are you new here?"
The girl jumps a little and turns to see who asked, and once she see who did ask, she showed a smug expression and reply "Why yes! I transferred yesterday..." "Oh! I couldn't have seen you because of the, *hehe* the pony" The smug face of the girl melts and show one of mild confusion instead "You aren't very smart are you?" after a pause she continues "I am..." *BUZZZZZ*
"Well time to begin the class, please, sit on your desks" the teacher interrupts anyone to continue any conversation until the class ends.
John start to feel itchy in some places.
Once the recess started, John resolved to stay in the classroom for a while and eat his lunch. once he finished, he stared going to the door until something weird happened, dense smoke stared coming out of his pocked, when he retrieved whatever was causing the smoke, he discovered that it was the amulet and the smoke was not spreading, but instead getting attached to his body.
Once the smoke fully covered John, it dissipated, but instead of John inside the smoke, it was an earth pony with light purple coat, orange mane and tail and his eyes are yellow that resembles dry wheat standing up "What the-" the pony freezes and then falls with a loud 'thud' on the ground, the pony start looking at his arms unsure of what to do until a voice interrupts him "Wow... that is unexpected" when he turned to the direction of the voice, he see Jade standing in the doorway, she approaches the pony and grabs the amulet on the ground with her left forehoof.
"So, John right?" The purple pony "John" nods
"Well, looks like the amulet was defective, I'm just glad it didn't backlash on me. I can't say I'm sorry for you tho..." After a pause, Jade turns around and continue "well, good luck."
"Wait!!"
"hmm?"
"I'm sorry, please, turn me back to normal."
"I would if I could, but I'm not an unicorn, but don't worry without the amulet nearby, the effect will pass after some time probably... well, I have to return this to the store, see ya"
"w-wait!" but it is already too late, Jade retired from the room and vanished into the crowd.
John unwilling to be exposed, stayed in the classroom.
