Son of darkness

Running,Running is all I'm thinking right now that and those horrible secrets that haunt me but still I run as if I'm still being chased but I know they aren't. Did I tell you my name yet?No?Okay then,my name's shadow,Half-blood and local guadalherdaian soldier.What's a Half-blood?A half-blood is a pony who is half spirit and half,well normal but the spirit part is tricky since there are two types of spirits,ereos(pronounced like arrows) or evil spirit which is the kind my father was and an aether which is a spirit full of goodness.Now back to me,as I'm running to the forest I turn around to see if anypony is tracking me luckily nopony is so my next objective is to find shelter.As I walk deeper into the forest my mind goes back to all my half-blood  friends and what their doing,most likely going into that giant cave I found a couple months ago that or still fighting for their freedom.Sweet celestia,do I feel horrible I mean they're fighting for their lives while I'm in the forest looking for a cave to sleep in.Soon I do find a cave and I prepare to sleep by turning into a lion.Did you know that I could transform into animals at will?No?Well now you do.Now I must sleep with the hopes of getting the nightmare that is the war out of my mind,the war between the half-bloods and the ereos.War between parent and offspring.Yet something felt wrong as if something was eating away at me leaving a hole and soon I realized what was feasting on my soul,My family mom,snow,and leo were alone,in the midst of chaos that is war.Or heck they might be dead or captured I hope none of that is true.Yet in the storm of worry and despair my body took over telling me to sleep and I obeyed curling into a circle to get as much heat as I can.Finally my eyes began to close and my dreams take over my mind.

I was back on the battlefield,my coat covered in dust and blood from the many enemies that I killed with my sword.Then I saw him the one who started this whole war,the one that killed so many of my kind.I was about to stab another soldier when a shadow covered the moon and all the ponies both friend and foe disappeared leaving me alone,fires raging around me as the shadow came closer to the ground allowing me to see that it was an alicorn I began to wonder how an alicorn entered my dreams when it landed.As I stared I looked at the alicorn's cutie mark which was the moon "I am princess luna,ruler of the night and dreams."the alicorn stated as she noticed that I was staring at her clearly confused on who she was."Come closer I will not hurt you,in fact I am here to help you get to safety."I did what she said and came closer,sitting down in front of her "What do you mean by safety your highness?" I said still staring at her in wonder,to my surprise instead of looking annoyed or frustrated as anypony would when explaining something important she smiled as if she was amused by the fact that I was trying to comprehend what she was saying even though she barely said anything about what was to come she began to speak once more "You must go to canterlot and head to the castle and say princess luna sent you here for reasons you do not know as I have not told you yet,most likely they let you in but if not I will talk to them.I have big plans for you and your very unique  skills in battle.Now I must go as you are beginning to wake up good bye and I hope to see in pony.She fly to the moon and vanished as I soon began to wake up the cold of the cave that hit me like a pile of bricks as I stood up and saw the sun beginning to rise as I remembered what she said and I began my journey to canterlot as a bird since it was the fastest way to move and so my first day began.

Soon after hours of flying and taking a quick rest I spotted canterlot castle and landed close enough where I can walk to the gate but far enough that the guards can't see me transform into a pony.I approached the gate the two guards lowering their spears into an attack position "What is the purpose of your visit?"one of them asks spear still ready to stab me "I am here because princess luna has requested me to come for reasons that I do not know yet."I reply staring them in the eye.Both soldiers nodded,a clear sign that they believed me "We will show you to the throne room where we will notify her that you are here."The other guard said both of them turning around and walking away towards the castle with me tailing them into the castle and unknown to me that decision to let me enter would change my life forever.AS soon as I entered the castle I was mesmerized by how beautiful the room was and my mind began to drift as I thought to myself why would royalty want to see a refugee?  I was stunned by how I could call myself a refugee but then again a refugee is a pony who runs away from war and that's what I did,run away.A guard left to get Princess Luna while the other was guarding me presumably making sure I don't plan to do something illegal I could tell since I was once a soldier myself and could tell what he was thinking since his eyebrows would twitch every so often,Man this guys has a  really bad poker face.Soon the guard that left came back with princess luna and at the sight of her I bowed Luna simply grinned and said "I have called for you to do something that is not an obligation but it may help you feel a little more comfortable in equestria." I got up feeling interested about what she was talking about,I mean who wouldn't want to get a little more comfortable in a new place? Luna signaled for the guards to leave allowing the both of them to talk in private."Now we must talk about what I'm planning for you shadow."Luna said summoning a chair for me as she sat on her throne.
