Unforgettable Fate

The Summer Sun Celebration.

The event Rarity would not go to.

But she's here.

Thanks to Twilight.

For some odd reason, Twilight was always excited to make new friends, and is one of those ponies who wouldn't abandoned anypony if seen sad or crying or miserable. That is how Rarity and Twilight met after all.

But being here has gotten the chance to do two things: Prove that the prophecy was wrong, and learn new things about Twilight. Well, she did the latter.

Rarity has found out that outside of Canterlot, Twilight has made four new friends: Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack. They seemed nice enough. She has grown somewhat of a connection towards them, which makes the unicorn even more nervous. That's just adding on the ponies she has to protect. She tried not to focus on it though. She tried keeping her attention on getting to know her friends better and having fun. So there she was, in the middle of Fluttershy and Twilight. All of the friends, except Rainbow who was hovering, were on the ground.

Rainbow Dash had a rainbow colored mane, black shades, a rainbow cloud cutie mark, blue wings, and a blue coat. She was wearing a shirt with a heart on it and a fire arrow going through it and dark black jeans. "... And that's how I received my cutie mark! It was awesome! I made a sonic rainboom. I know I'll be a Wonderbolt one day, I know it!"

Rarity smiled at the cyan mare. She was growing more comfortable around her. Then again, the closer she gets to her, any of them, the more she would hurt them.

The unicorn tried erasing these thoughts from her head. Thinking like this would make it worse.

"You alright there sugarcube? You have been awfully quiet," the mare known as Applejack said.

Applejack had a blonde mane, an orange coat, green eyes, freckles, three apples for her cutie mark, and a hat. She wore a cowgirl outfit, jeans, and brown boots.

"I'm... I'm fine darling..."

Pinkie narrowed her eyes. "Your not fine!" Pinkie Pie had puffy pink hair, a pink coat, light blue eyes, a puffy tail, and balloons for her cutie mark. She wore a shirt that says, "Smiles and Hugs," jeans, and a necklace with a blue balloon on it. "You have been so quiet throughout this whole night, and your not having any fun!"

Twilight, her best friend, decided to step in. The unicorn had purple hair, a tail to match, a sparkle for her cutie mark, purple eyes, which looked like they can change to red at anypony's notice, and a purple horn. She wore a a light blue uniform that makes her look sophisticated, a patch that was on the elbow of the uniform, and jeans.

"She was shy the first time I met her. Just give her some time and she'll open up," Twilight said.

"Yeah. Maybe she wants to get more comfortable with us, but doesn't know how," Fluttershy said. She had a yellow coat, green like eyes, a long pink mane, yellow wings,and pink butterflies for her cutie mark. She wore a white uniform, a brown patch with a butterfly on it, a charm bracelet with five charms:a sparkle, a butterfly, a rainbow cloud, a balloon, and a apple, (soon, a blue diamond will be added to the bracelet, which would make it complete), and a necklace with a brownish pink butterfly as the charm.

"I mean... I wasn't the most talkative when I first met Rainbow. Or any of you," she admitted, placing her gaze on the ground.

The other pegasus placed her arm around Flutters's neck. "Yeah, but you came around. Remember when us five was walking around the forest and a bear came into view and began to torment us until you snapped and you beat the bear up?!"

Rarity watched as the five began to giggle at that memeroy.

The yellow pegasus smiled slightly. "Yeah. And I earned a scar from it," she smiled, raising her long mane from her right eye, revealing a scar, which was healing and going away slowly, going across it.

Rainbow smirked and nudged her friend in the arm playfully. "And a cool one too," she complimented. This caused the young pegasus to smile bigger. "Thank you." The five began to laugh harder at their past.

Rarity admired the friendship between the five. It was innocent. Maybe she can have a safe friendship with the mares.

'You know better then to cloud up your mind with such lies.'

'Your not here, 'she thought, clenching her eyes shut, 'You can't be.'
The voice laughed. 'You think you can keep me locked here forever? Your not stronger than me," she boomed.
'Leave. Me Alone!'
'Fine...but I'll be back soon."

The white unicorn opened her eyes and saw the five mares looking at her with concern. Rainbow was in front of her with her hoof in her face and her shades above her head. When the purple haired mare opened her eyes, the cyan mare placed her hoof down.

She smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. I was trying to get your attention," she said nervously. "I was worried about you, that's all. We all were." She then faced hoof. "ARGH! Sorry about the mushy stuff. That's not me, but these girls... and their influences... so strong," she admitted.

Rarity smiled slightly. Rainbow was a funny mare. All of them were great. To personalities to goals, they were very interesting. "You girls really are the best of friends anypony could ask for. You girls are amazing," she said. Then, the unexpected happened. Well, unexpected to her at least. Hugs. The five mares hugged her.

She felt the combination of love and friendship. It felt like a glow in her body and her heart was pounding from surprise and joy. She hugged them back, but once she did, her horn turned blue and she was soon out of the hug and a few feet away from them.

The cyan mare scratched the back of her neck. "S... Sorry. I know. You must be uncomfortable right now. You just met us four."

Rarity shook her head. "No. That's not why."

"Okay everypony, shut up," the annoying voice of the mayor called out, which caused everypony to cease their conversations. When it has gotten completely silent, the mayor cleared her throat and lifted a hoof. "Now as everypony knows, today is the Summer Sun Celebration," she started, causing the ponies in the crowd to celebrate by stomping their hooves on the ground.

The mayor cleared her throat loudly. "Ahem. What did I just say?" After the hoofsteps died down, she began to speak again. "Now like I said, today is a special day and were going to celebrate with everything we have in store for..."

Blue dark magic came surrounding the ponies, causing everypony to either gasp in surprise, mumble, or scream.

The mayor snorted, upset she didn't get to finish her sentence. Again. "Oh for the love of..."

She was interrupted again when the blue magic took form into Nightmare Moon, which caused them to scream.

Rarity's eyes widened. 'No! No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No! This can't be possible! This can't be real!'
She told herself this over and over, but her eyes aren't lying to her. She hoped they were.

"Who... Who are y-"
"She's Nightmare Moon."
"D.... Do you want some..."
"So that's what she looks like."
"Cool hu?"
The mayor snorted, louder than last time. "Okay, can everypony stop interrupting me?! It's getting old!"

Aj sighed and face hoofed at the mayor's outburst and behavior. Her gaze then went on Nightmare Moon. "Look, what are ya doing here?"

The villain laughed. "Me? I'm simply here to deliver a message," she darkly stated.

The cyan pegasus flapped her wings. "Oh yeah? And what's that?!"

She laughed darkly as her dark magic surrounded her. "You were made to be ruled. Your world was made to freeze from everlasting night. Everything and everypony will die as the sun sets on your world..." She says as her last bit of dark magic surrounds Rarity, touching her neck softly, causing her to tremble in fear, "To never rise again..."

"This sounds serious!" A random pony from the crowd yelled.
"Somepony should do something!"
Right on cue, Twilight narrowed her eyes in determination. "No!"

"What?"

"Were not ganna let you freeze Ponyville!"

The dark princess alicorn simply laughed. "I'm not the one going to freeze little, pathetic, Ponyville."

Twilight growled. "Don't you dare insult Ponyville or I'll kill you myself!"

"How sweet. You care about your pathetic town. However, I didn't come for you or your friends," she admitted, blasting a dark blue laser towards them, but it mostly came towards Rarity, who froze in place, eyes winded in fear. Rainbow, and Fluttershy flied fast in the sky, Applejack and Pinkie simply jumped high from their usual spot they were in, and Twilight teleported before the laser could hit her. Rarity simply stood there in shock which caused the rainbow colored mane mare to scoop down to save her.

As the beloved unicorn were in her arms, she asked, "Are you okay?"

Rares gained her composure. "I'm fine. Thanks for saving me."

A blue laser came towards them, causing the cyan mare to fly faster away from the laser, which stricked something in the room.

Applejack breathed heavily. "Go out. Save yerselves!"

The other ponies ran out of the way until they were outside, but the mayor was pushing the other ponies to get out first. After everypony was outside and out of the way, Twilight was seen by a pole, Applejack and Pinkie were on the ground behind Twilight, their bodies low, but their expressions showed a scowl, ready to fight, Fluttershy was in the sky floating with her arms crossed, her eyes narrowed, and a smirk on her face, and Rainbow was still in the sky holding Rarity. They were all facing Nightmare Moon.

"Now that the innocents are out the way, we can actually fight!" The purple unicorn's horn glowed and blasted her magic towards the enimey. Nightmare used her wings to fly away from the magic. She used her own magic to blast them, but Twilight created a force field that protected herself and her friends.

Once her magic stopped, Twilight turned to them. "Come on girls! Let's take her down!" Once she lifted it up, Fluttershy flied towards her first, fists clenched by her sides. Aj followed suit, but she was galloping. Flutters kicked her in the chest, but Nightmare blasted a laser towards her. Fluttershy flied away from them as AJ took her by the horn and slammed her on the ground, cracking it a bit, but it didn't stop her from using magic. Before she could get up to attack, the yellow pegasus picked the farmer mare up and flied away with ultimate speed.
A laser was then shot towards the cyan pegasus and the white unicorn. Rainbow turned towards her, holding the mare by her shoulders.

"Hey, can you fight?"

"Um... Yes?"

Rainbow smiled. She threw herself, still holding Rares, a battle cry escaping her lips and a scream escaping Rarity's. Rainbow went for a kick, but she dodged. Rarity, getting control of her fear, teleported out of the pegasus's grip. A blue aura surrounded her horn. Every passing second, the laser was getting bigger. The laser was surrounding her entire body, swirling at her hip. The attack then came from her horn as it blasted her, causing a brief explosion, to which Rainbow exclaims, "That's how you do it, Rares!"

She coughed in response. However, it was far from over. Nightmare Moon was seen unharmed as her somewhat cracked horn healed itself. While this close to her, Rares noticed something about Nightmare.

This was not Nightmare Moon.

The "princess" blasted a sharp laser ,that was like snake fire, through the ground. Luckily, the Mane Six moved out the way quickly. As the princess was about to use her magic, Pinkie and Aj, using their advanced strength, kicked one of the poles in one kick which crushed her.

Applejack and Pinkie Pie sighed in relief until the pole that "crushed" her exploded from the inside out. Aj and Pinkie ran towards her with speed. The blonde haired mare threw punches and the bubbly pink mare threw kicks. She dodged each attack gracefully and blast the two in the chests, causing them to collapse onto the wall.

She then blasted a laser towards Rarity who widened her eyes before teleporting away. The mare was then by Twilight who was blasting Nightmare in the chest. The purple unicorn did notice a pattern in all this. She was targeting Rares. Why? She didn't know.

Nightmare then decided to do a stronger attack. Carefully, but faster then light, a aura escaped her and it grew bigger in seconds. The laser blasted the Mane Six, causing them to fall onto the wall.

Nightmare Moon laughed. "You mares put up a fight. But you can't fight what is bound to happen. Your world is meant to freeze. Everyone is meant to..."

"NO!"

A blue aura escaped Rarity and it blasted Moon.

There was a slight mark on her, but it wasn't big. Nightmare laughed. "I'll be back," she said before teleporting away.

Twilight coughed. "Is everypony okay?"

Aj raised up. "Ah think so."

Rainbow smiled. "I don't know. Are my shades okay?"

The four laughed as Rainbow desperately, jokingly, looked for her shades. She found them on the ground, to which she picks them up and placed it back over her eyes. "There. Back to beautiful."

Twilight then flashed a frown. "She's coming back. We need to figure out what she's planning and why she was after Rarity."

Flutters nodded. "Yeah. But how?"

Twilight narrowed her eyes. "We'll figure it out later. Right now we need to get the innocents back inside."

They nodded as the started to walk out. Twilight then turned towards Rarity. "We will find Nightmare Moon and found out why she was after you."

But that wasn't Nightmare Moon.
