Cheesy Super Duper Dating Game!
Blasphemy! Blasphemy I tell you!
"Hello there dear reader, it is I, Cheese Sandwhich, and I'm here today with Discord and Princess Cadence. Now we had a get together and decided we would play a little game. Discord, would you be so kind as to explain the rules?"
"Of course Cheese." Discord said, taking a bow. "Hello and welcome, before we continue let me just say that from this point forward there's no turning back. So for those of you who are set to strongly on your ships turn back now or be forever scorned. For those of you still here, allow me to describe the situation. Currently, Cheese Sandwich, Cadence, and I are floating in a white void known as an 'Empty Universe'."
"Now you're probably wondering. What the hay is an 'Empty Universe'?" Cheese Sandwich mocked. "Well let me tell you, an Empty Universe is a place without rules or restrictions. Basically in here anything is possible, literally anything. Watch." Cheese Sandwhich imagined himself a cheeseburger and it appeared in his hoof. "See, literally anything."
"Now I've transported everyone here for one single purpose." Discord said.
"To test out the craziest ships." Cadence finished.
"Correct." Discord snapped his fingers and the white void disappeared, in its place was now a circular floor with a circular wall and ceiling. Discord snapped his fingers once more and doors appeared on the wall and continued to appear until there was a total of fifty doors. "Cadence, would you like to do the honors?"
"Your such a gentlecolt Discord." Cadence joked. "Now then, behind each each door lies a certain character from our universe. It is your job, the reader, to choose two doors."
"Once this chapter goes up, there will be a time limit of 48 hours. During that time you need to comment which two doors you've chosen. After 48 hours are up, we will tally up the votes and see which two doors got the most votes." Cheese explained.
"Also, we will be participating as well." Discord stated.
"That's right, Discord has a door, Cadence has a door, even I have door." Cheese stated. "Where was I? Oh yes, once the two doors are chosen the two characters behind them will appear in this universe via generated stage. And there's no need to worry because technically the ponies behind the doors aren't the real thing, just copies of the real ponies in our universe."
"Can I say some of the rules before we get this thing underway?" Discord asked.
"Go ahead." Cheese grinned.
"Splendid, now then." Discord cleared his throat before speaking.
"Rule 1) if you have a favorite ship and this story does in fact generate a ship that you don't like, then please don't dislike this story because of that. The only reason you should dislike this story is for author's bad grammar, that's it."
"Rule 2) you may only choose two doors. No more, no less."
"Rule 3) don't let your mind melt from the stupidity this story is about to create."
"I think I covered everything right?"
"Yeah that's pretty much everything." Cheese said.
"How many words have we got so far?" Discord asked.
"Uhhhh...582 words." Cheese answered. "586 now."
"So we still need at least 414 words before we can post this?" Cadence asked.
"Roughly around that much yes." Discord answered.
"Is there anything we didn't cover?" Cheese asked.
"I suppose we could tell them how the stage works?" Cadence suggested.
"The stage, right." Cheese clapped his hooves together. "Okay, here's how the stage works. The stage I just a fancy word we like to use for the scene the romance is supposed to take place in. The stage could be Ponyville, Canterlot, the Crystal Empire, etc. There's pretty much infinite places the stage will take place."
"Also we should tell them that once two doors are picked and the stage is done, and a new vote takes place, to prevent repetitive ships we've decided to shuffle the characters behind the doors each time. That way no one can plan out a purposely created ship." Cadence explained.
"Yeah we don't want cheaters." Cheese agreed. "Also the length of a chapter isn't set, each ship could range from five hundred words to ten thousand."
"Oh crud." Discord face palmed. "We forgot two of the most important parts."
"We did?" Both Cheese and Cadence said in unison.
"Yeah. We forgot to mention the first person part." Discord pointed out.
"Oh that's right!" Cheese exclaimed. "We thought it would be funny if we made one of the ships first person. So here's what that means, behind one of these doors is the character we call 'You'. That's right, if you choose the door with 'You' behind it then the next fic will be about a pov from the readers point of view. We basically send the reader into a random oc and then that oc and the one he or she is shipped with plays out on the stage." Cheese said, trying his best to explain.
"What was the last thing?" Cadence asked.
"Not all ships are gonna be about romance." Discord answered.
"Oh that's right, after we created the character list we realized that some of the ships wouldn't work as well in the romance section. So in some instances, very rarely, the ship will be about friendship instead of love." Cadence explained.
"There, so how many words is that Cheese?" Discord asked.
Cheese pondered before answering. "1,016."
"That's the green light everybody!" Discord yelled. "Take your places and let the madness begin!"
