Pinkie Pie Actually Visits Yakyakistan
The calf and Pinkie Pie ended their sled run strong by sticking the landing on a cliffside. Pinkie stared in awe at the wooden gates that stretched high above her. Ahead the calf enticed her over with a kind smile. Tentatively she stepped off the sled, the weight change causing it to lose it's grip and slid down the cliff and out of sight. Pinkie wiped the sweat from her brow.
“That was close! I could only imagine how disappointing it would have been If I had been on that sled and in an over the top comedy bit that would've ended my entire journey in an anti-climax. ”
Shaking her head back into reality Pinkie turned her attention the yak and happily hopped into the foreign land without a care in the world. The statues of yak warriors weren't as intimidating as they appeared far away, far more inviting as their fire was comforting warmth compared to the unforgiven tundra. Not nearly as colorful as a typical pony town Yakyakistan had its own welcoming charm. Torches of various sizes lined the inside of the gates and various spots throughout the territory. The next thing that caught her eye were the various stands illuminated by the torches that looked like merchant shops. But there weren't any attendants to be seen, probably due to the later hours in the day. Snow littered the ground so there wasn't any greenery to look at. Interestingly enough the small yak had been jumping around the stands seemingly without a care in the world. Finally, she had noticed the monolithic monster standing tall before her. The biggest building around made up of stone and hard labor was capped off by a dome and surrounded by various sizes of spikes.
“Did you want to see our prince? He's currently in Equestria on a diplomatic mission and he won't be back for awhile. Maybe in the meantime, we can have some fun? I've never had a pony to play with.” the small yak enthusiastically inquired.
“While that does sound super duper fun, but I'm here to learn more about Yakyakastan to learn more about Prince Rutherford to learn more about Yaks to learn more about how we can avoid war!” Pinkie shrieked to the slight discomfort of the calf, forcing his attention more on the personal space than on what she actually said.
“Oh, has he been on about the whole Yak smash thing?”
Pinkie nodded.
“Ugh, I'm sorry. Despite his image of being tough and rugged, Prince Rutherford is actually very sensitive. Even we have to trot on eggshells around him.”
”From what we've seen aren't all Yaks a bit sensitive.”
”I can see where you'd get that. Ever since Prince Rutherford became the official leader of Yakyakistan after the former king passed, he's pretty much molded most yaks in his image, nearly threating to throw them out if they stepped out of line.” the calf hung his head low.
”Wow, I didn't think he would act like that to his own yaks. The more I hear about him the more I doubt we'll be able to do anything to avoid war.”
”Wait, war? What war? Who said anything about war?”
”Your Prince did. Well, he didn't really, not while I was there. But I pretty sure he mentioned something to Twilight by now.”
”How do you know he said something when you've been miles away from him and anyyak who could have heard him?”
”I read the script.”
”Right, I just can't believe he would even think about that. He went on and on about how he was going to make friends with ponies and yak kind for a thousand moons before he left. Now he wants us to go to war? We've barely recovered from our battles with the griffons. We need to stop him!” the calf was now invading the personal space of the pink pony, pinning her to the ground fear evident in his eyes.
”That's exactly why I'm here silly. I'm sure that if bring something authentic back to him from Yakyakistan he'll see how good of friends we can be and drop any idea of going to war with us. I mean we've tried sooo many times to come up with yak dishes that he didn't like, or yak snow, or yak beds, and he hated them all! He can't possibly hate something from here, right?”
A hush fell upon the two. The sound of snow falling and fire from the torches dancing about were the only discernable sounds. Pinkie recoiled slightly as she felt the calf tremble, his eyes covered by fur making his emotions all that more ambiguous and scary. When he looked at Pink there was a look of sadness in his eyes, but also, hope.
”Treating Prince Rutherford to any Yak inspired culture that actually isn't from here is a one-way ticket to conflict. He is absurdly short tempered and sensitive to it. I have never seen any non-yak creature survive his wrath after they've 'insulted' our culture. If you've told the truth about how you and your friends have greeted him, war is imminent. Unless. . .” the small looked away.
”Unless what!? I'll do anything, please just tell me!!”
”You're not going to like it.”
Back in Ponyville, the yaks stood in the middle of the town staring down Twilight and the rest of her council on the edge of starting a violent conflict right then and there. Twilight had shrunk down to the smallest size she could while her friends stood beside her urging her to stand. The yak's rage was enough for their fur to be pushed away from their eyes revealing deadly glares. The townsponies starred on quivering in fear if there Princess was shaken by these creatures what chance did they stand. It was a collecting of anger and fear swallowed into one poor town. That is until a shout from the distance cut through the scene.
”Hey you guys!”
Pinkie galloped from the far side of town to its center as fast as her hooves could take her. Most ponies were shocked to see the party planner but even more shocked to see the small yak she carried on her back. But nopony, or yak, was more shocked than Prince Rutherford to see this duo.
”What are you doing here, I left you at home for a reason.” he cried.
”I'm here, brother, to stop you from doing something disastrous.”
'BROTHER!' the thoughts of everypony rang.
”What do you mean little brother?”
The small yak jumped off a smiling Pinkie Pie to approach his big brother. After reaching and whispering something unintelligible to anypony else. The Prince looked at his little brother confused but after what appeared to be a little more coaxing Prince Rutherford stood and declared with glee.
”Yaks and ponies will be friends for ten thousand moons!”
The town was quiet while it slowly processed this new information. After what seemed like an eternity cheers started to erupt from various places until everypony cheered with glee and relief. Most relieved were the former elements who approached Pinkie Pie happy but curious.
”Pinkie not that we're not ecstatic to see you again, and to see you've solved our problem... What exactly did you do?”
”Oh, nothing really. I just went to Yakyakistan, met that strapping young yak over there, and agreed to be his wife to ensure peace between our two nations.”
Silence.
”WHAT?!?”
