Magics long forgotten
Prologue
Load Full Story"Come on come on, we have to get to the cellar. We need to hurry, move!"
"Mom, dad what's going on. Why are there wierd ponies with things on their heads attacking us."
"Dont worry little one. Just follow your mother and I; and we'll keep you safe."
"Shroud, why are the unicorns attacking. We have no quoral with any of their clans."
"I'm not sure dear. But we need to get to the cellar; and if all else fails we need to preform the spell we've been working on."
The look on the mares face was shock for a moment, before she to realised it was there only hope. The stallion removed a section of the floor and motioned for his family to go down into the darkness. Once they had gone down into cellar, the stallion followed close behind them and replaced the missing section behind him. The corridor was small and cramped, but they all ventured further into the dark. Light soon began to fill into the emptiness.
"OK. I think we can relax for a moment. Honey blossom, I need you to begin preparations for the spell."
As the mare began to move around various books and parchments, her child sat still on its haunches watching her intently. Just as she had everything prepared a noise came from the corridor. The mares husband emerged from the darkness with fear on his eyes.
"Their inside the house. I locked the floor piece in place but it won't hold for long. We need to do this now."
The stallion looked down at the small pony that was his child and began to instruct it on what it needed to do.
"I need you to stand in the center of the room there ok. Your mother and I are going to do something very difficult and we need you to be as calm and still as possible. Can you do that?"
The stallion received a nod from his child and it walked to the center of the room. He then walked over to his wife's side and began to whisper something in her ear. She nodded her head and then turned her attention back to the ponies in front of her. The two elder ponies closed their eyes as a mix of color began to form around the child.
"Once this is done I want you to run from this place. There's a small passage way that you can fit through behind the bookshelf."
Before they could respond the small pony felt an intense pain run through it. The pain was emmensce but it had ended as soon as it began. The small pony did as told once it was able to move again. Slowly it crawled through the passage. Once it reached the end of the passage and exited the small space it turned around to witness horror. It's village, its home, its life, burning to the ground. It ran away from the sight, never turning around for even a moment. As the snow began to fall on the remnants of rather now broken pony, it felt nothing, not even the cold.

(Ten minute earlier)
"So. Halve we gotten all of the earth ponies in the village, especially the leaders?"
"Yes sir. All of the ponies have been executed. However when we reached the location of the leaders they were already dead. Their bodies were extremely aged beyond what we had known them to be. As well a large amount of books, tomes, and parchments were scattered across the room with what appeared to be a passage way."
"Did you say a passage way, as in there may be a pony who escaped" screamed the leader unicorn.
The unicorn reeled back slightly from the outburst before responding.
"It's highly unlikely. The passage was barely big enough for a small filly or colt. And even if a pony did get through, a storm is coming so they'll most likely freeze to death before anything can happen."
The unicorn leader stared off into the forest that was around the small village before turning back to the lower ranked unicorn.
"I want every building here to be burned as well as the bodies do you understand me. This place never existed."
The lesser unicorn nodded then spread the word to the other unicorns. Once they had gathered up all the bodies into the center of the village the elder unicorns began to set fire to the village. Once all of the village had turned into a blaze the unicorn clans began to leave the area. None of them looked back at what they had done. They all knew that peace between the pony tribes would be impossible, so this was just another part of life.

As the years went by, the unicorn clan gave life to two unique sisters. The eldest having a glorious white coat with pink mane while the other, born three years later, had a dark blue coat with a dark midnight mane. The two were taught in the same ways all the others had been taught in, but they refused. They sought to unit the tribes and after years of effort they achieved their goal. Along the way, they learned of what happened to the earth pony village just days before the eldest was born. When they managed to finally visit it's remains, in the center of the now grassy clearing were a two or three dozen graves. The ones that caught their attention the most were the two with signs in front of them. "mom" and "dad" were carved largely on them, with a small engraving on both reading out "I hope some of these bones belong to you".
"I think we should leave this place Luna. I do not think the one who did this wants us to be here."
"Agreed dear sister."
