Prologue
Deep in the fiery abyss of Tartarus, a small horned centaur in a dark cloak paced back and forth in his cage. He looked as if he was losing patience.
"Where is that damn boy he should be here by now". He mumbled
pacing back and forth getting even more impatient and frustrated.
Moments later the large Cerberus guarding the cage started to growl. Suddenly a small dart pierced the beast shoulder, causing it the slowly collapse unconscious on the ground. A young man with a dark robe completed with a hood, a mask covering the lower of his face, and a satchel appeared from behind the fallen beast.
"I'm back with some more intel from Canterlot City." He said approaching the cage.
"Finally I've been waiting, I beginning to think you backed out of our deal. "The centaur said.
The boy stopped in front of the gate and stared at the half-man creature with a blank expression. "Tirek, we both know our goals won't be achievable if I backed out. Besides, do I look like the type to betray a partner" the boy said showing an unnoticeable, creepy, grin. He then broke the lock on the gate and set the centaur free.
"I suppose not. You've held your part of the deal so far, so Shade what intel you've gathered on the surface world." Tirek said stretching and cracking his neck.
"Humph well, I've discovered quite a lot. A school called Canterlot High is full of magical anomalies. There were six girls with magic, one of which is reformed from an event I heard was called the Fall Formal. Then, two weeks later, I saw three sirens with that same energy defeated by those girls. I also heard about something happened during a competition between their rival school and a school trip in the Everfree Forest, but I was busy doing with more important matters. However while I was there, I began watching them more and discovered their powers are increased by “THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP” or some music bullshit." Shade said cringing then smiled. "In reality, they are strong, but nevertheless inexperienced in actual combat, and nothing but an itch I'm ready to scratch." Shade tightens his grip and begins to laugh darkly, resulting in Tirek feel a strong, dark pressure emitting from Shade.
'Hmm... This isn't magic he's radiating, but...but some kind of strange aura. Interesting. ' Tirek thought while trying to figure out his power.
" I wanna test the power those girls possess,... but at the same time... I wanna make them beg for mercy and show the what it's like to have real power." Shade began chuckling menacingly. "And that boy I found...such potential."
"Boy you say?" Tirek asked.
Shade smiled "Yes. He goes by the name of Light. I did some digging and he's going to be a new student at Canterlot High. When I found him, I sensed something special about him."
" Special? Was it magic?" Tirek said getting more curious.
"Yes and no. It was as if both magic and something else. That's what I meant by that. It felt like..." Shade began thinking and walked away with Tirek behind him. “Oh and before I forget.” He reached inside his satchel and grabbed an orb radiating with rainbow color. “This is the essence of leftover magical residue I collected from the Fall Formal Incident and the Sirens attack.” He throws the orb towards Tirek.
“Yes…I feel my power growing!” Tirek exclaimed while he grew up to ten feet, his horns were longer, and was he more muscular. “Lord Tirek is back! And this realm will finally be ruled by my godly power!” Tirek said.
“Godly…right” Shade mumbled. “But anyway now that you’re out, it’s time to put our main plan to fruition. Once done we’ll both get wait we want and be satisfied.”
“I already know what I’m supposed to do. Kill and absorb as much energy to rule this planet like a tyrant. What is your part of the plan anyway? You haven’t said anything about what you will do.” Tirek asked.
“Well I can’t really tell you much, but what I can say is I’m an empirical philosopher and that this world is destined to change.” Shade said. Soon they arrived at the rift of Tartarus leading to the surface. Once they came through, they looked around and saw a grassy field, and in the distance a large city. They smiled.
“Now that I’m out I shall go claim some territory in a nearby wasteland for myself. There we can meet and discuss any future plans. ” Tirek said “Before I go, what is step one of this so called “master plan” you have?” he continued.
“First I shall investigate Canterlot High. Those girls and that boy intrigue me, so I went ahead to register myself as a transfer student to study them under a disguise. I want to learn more about their magic and what that boy, Light, is capable of. Also I want to recruit a few people for our cause while I'm in the area. ” Shade explained. “So I recommend not causing any havoc just yet or else the student body will be in a state of fear and panic from the chaos, thus preventing me from studying properly. ”
“Bah. Whatever I’ll be absorbing energy from any remaining cults dedicated to me anyway. Now I will take my leave.” Tirek stated as he walked away.
“Right” Shade began walking towards the direction of Canterlot City. “Time for phase one to begin.” Shade said as he closed his eyes and slowed his breathing. He then disappears in a shroud of pixels leaving the sound of rustling grass behind.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!
"Huh!?" Light mumbled as he woke up from his new bed. Birds were chirping and flowers were blooming outside his window with the sun shining bright. He looked around in his new room to recuperate from his sleep. Light had short wild black hair and silver eyes with light brown skin.
Recently Light's Mom decided it was time to move from their home in Manhattan and buy a new one in Canterlot. The house was average with a garage and had a light gray exterior. It had three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a decent sized kitchen.
"I can get used to this" Light hummed as he got out of his bed with determination. Not because he was well rested and in a new area but because it's his first day at his new school. "Let's see what I'm going to wear today." Light decided to wear his main attire. A white shirt with black jeans and a black jacket. 'keeping it simple’ Light thought as he looked in the mirror . He also decided to wear his sapphire amulet he had since... well forever. He then proceeds to brush his teeth and other preparations before heading downstairs.
"Good morning everyone "Light said coming downstairs. Sitting in a chair was his Grandfather, Solar, drinking orange juice and eating toast. His mother, Sunrise, was in her robe preparing her clothes for the day.
" Good morning sweetie I see you're awake. Why don't you go and eat breakfast, don't want you missing your first day" Sunrise said. Sunrise had long black hair with a streak of Light Blue going through it. She also had silver eyes like Light and the same light brown skin complex as he does.
"Way ahead of you, mom “Light said as he was rapidly pouring cereal into a bowl.
"Light slow down, unlike girls your bowl not going anywhere. Heh maybe you should let your grasp teach how to have game. "Solar said. He had long spiky black hair and dark Grey eyes.
Light glared at him for a moment.
"Father! That’s not appropriate at the table. There is no need to throw jabs at your grandson’s personal love life...even if it's true". Sunrise state with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"Gee thanks mom" Light said with a hint of sarcasm.
"Your welcome!!!"Sunrise being oblivious to her sons' tone.
"Well look at the time I better be going. Wouldn't want to be late." Light said.
With that Light walked out the house towards the direction of the school. He then put his headphones in and listened to some music. He then began hum along while observing the neighborhood.
Light then looked at his watch and noticed “Oh crap I only have 15 minutes until school start!” Light yelled in a panic. “I gotta step it up.” He looked around to see no one around and smirked.
He tightened his book bag and stretched a bit. He then took off in an instant. Light ran down the street faster than the eye can follow. He jumped over a parked car and took a turn through an alley. He then jumped over the gate. With a smirk he said “Heh, at this rate I’ll make it to school in no…” WHAM! “Ow” He groaned as he greeted the rear of a red truck with apple crates in the back with his face.
Out of the truck came a big teenage guy with orange hair and freckles. He also had a tan vest and with a red flannel underneath. A teenage girl also came out of trunk. She had blonde hair with freckles and green eyes. She also had a white shirt, blue skirt, and some cowgirl boots.
“Wha’n tarnation? Felt like ah stampede of angry bulls hitt’n at once.” she said in a country accent.
“Eeyup” the big guy simply said.
They both found Light on the ground dazed. “Man…I really need to watch where I run”. He noticed the occupants of the trunk staring at him.
“Hey uh sugarcube are ya alright.” Light looked up to see the teenage cowgirl.
“Yea I shrugged off much worst” Light said with a reassuring tone. “who are you” he asked.
“I'm Applejack and this big fella right here is Big Mac, mah brother.”
“Eeyup”Big Mac confirmed.
“Nice to meet the two of ya. I'm Light. I actually just moved here”. He noticed that he lost the direction to the school. ‘Dammit’ “If you know where Canterlot High is I would greatly appreciate it” he said.
“As ah matter o’fact we do. We're heading there ourselves. We can give ya a lift if you want”. Applejack offered. Big Mac silently nodded.
Light nodded “Thanks I would appreciate that”. They then went to the truck and started to buckle up.
"Also partner we're pick'n up a dear friend of mine named Rarity. So you might wanna scooch over" Applejack said. Then Big Mac gave her a teasing look at the mentioning of her friend's name. "Don't ya even start Big Mac".
Light decided not to ask about this Rarity that will be joining him in the backseat.
After everyone is strapped in and the truck was warmed up they pulled off.
