I thought as I looked out at Canterlot leaning on the castle balcony. ' Why don't I have my mark? It's a silly thing to worry about sure. But it does make me wonder, what's the point of a cutiemark? Is it a sign of maturity, is it something to symbolize yourself as a pony? Or is it just something to show off like a parade float? It's hard to say as what it's supposed to represent.' Then I trotted from the balcony and slowly made my way through the halls. 'After all a mark is supposed to mean your destiny but what happens if you can't or just don't want to pursue it? What happens if you never get your mark? What happens if you or the ponies around you don't like it?' I thought as my eye's gleamed with concern and a little curiosity. I was dragged from my thoughts as I bumped into Flash Century. I had heard from mother that he'd come to Canterlot by order of Shining Armor, why though I didn't question. I could tell he looked troubled so dropping my own worries I decided to ask,
"What's wrong?" Flash Century blushed slightly and sighed as he told me what was on his mind.
"I kinda have a crush on the newest princess. Ya know Twilight Sparkle, I want to tell her but what if she doesnt like me? And what will her brother do to me?" I thought over the scenario and said,
"Well believe or not I've been through the same thing. And I know one thing just listen to heart it's always right and if Twilight doesn't like you then it's her loss. Finally if Shinning Armor truly cares about his sister. Then unless it's necessary he won't butt into her love life." Flash Century took in the information and thanked me as he ran to my mother. No doubt wanting to ask for a meeting with her. I smiled and continued my cutiemark thoughtful journey. As I left the castle and walked through the streets of Canterlot. I started thinking again as I walked, 'I wonder what I'll be? A powerful wizard? You can barely call me strong. A professor? I don't like public speaking. A psychologist? Well....' My thoughts we're again interrupted when I ran into my school teacher, Moon Dancer. She looked concerned about something so I asked,
"What's the matter?" Moon Dancer' s concern changed to hesitation as she told Timidthy what was wrong.
"My sister is going into surgery. And the doctors say there's a slim chance she'll survive the operation. I just can't help but worry." Moon Dancer said I thought about it and spoke,
"Well I don't know much about surgery but the thing that I would do is prey and hope she'll be okay. And be there to support her." I said calmly. Moon Dancer smiled reassuringly. And ruffled my hair a little in appreciation and walked off. I sighed and fixed my mane, 'I hate it when ponies do that. I just wish I could put my hoof on it. What job or hobby can I follow that involves listening to ponies personal problems. And making them feel better, and get paid for doing it?' I was confused I was sure I had my hoof on it before but since I got all those distractions I can't think straight! 'Well to be honest I liked the distractions.' I continued to walk towards Canterlot hospital, 'This is harder then I thought. I got to think what does a cutiemark mean? What will my mark be?' I stopped for a moment as I thought and looked at my flank and blushed. 'Will it help make the teasings go away?' I sighed and continued walking. Finally I got into Canterlot hospital and as I walked in it was complete choaus. Everypony was running around almost running me over. 'Sweet Celestia!' I thought as I dodged a few ponies, I'm not sure why but I felt some sort of pressure build up in my chest. 'Why is everypony so worried? Why do I feel thins way? Why isn't everything balanced here!?' I felt the pressure build up even bigger as I screamed,
"STOP!" the ponies in the room stopped I sighed,
"Now what is the matter?" I said trying to stay calm. One of the nurses replied,
"Well a few of the chemicals spilled in the laboratory bellow us and--" I raised my hoof and silenced the nurse,
"If the chemicals are dangerous call the hazmat team or get my mother and evacuate the hospital. If the chemicals are only slightly dangerous get a few doctors to do away with the chemicals. If they arnt dangerous at all just relax. Fussing and worrying about something isn't going to make the problem go away. Or make it happen sooner. The best solution or the best of things come through hard work. Dedication and most importantly....patience." I said as the staff followed my word and got a few of thier best doctors to clean up the chemical spill. I sighed , and was just about to walk out of the hospital then something clicked in my mind,
'Wait I just calmed down an entire crowd of ponies and I liked it! Maybe this is what I'm meant to so! Maybe I'm supposed to talk to ponies and help them search out their thoughts and emotions!' I thought as a flash came from my flank and I along with a few of the reamaing staff looked at my flank. My cutiemark was a golden stop watch a lot like the ones therapist and psychologist use. I smiled as the staff cheered for me, I had finally got my mark. I jumped up for joy and ran as fast as my hooves could take me to the castle. I couldn't wait to show my mother of what a wonderful pony I'd become.
