Reconciliation

"Because I love you!"

Sour couldn't even think right now, nor could she react. She didn't know how to react.

"Y-You... w-what..."

Smallfoot's eyes welled up with more tears.

"I'm sorry...", Smallfoot whimpered.

Without looking back she ran into the women's bathroom, and slammed the door behind her. She wasn't sad anymore, she was mortified. She couldn't even think of what to do now.

Sour Sweet however didn't even know what to do. Her truck... her guardian... was her date? How? Why? When did this happen?

She turned around and glared at the girls behind her.

"Did any of you know about this!? Did you? Did you know this Indigo?"

Indigo froze and slightly shook her head in fear.

"I know you're lying. Lemon, did you know about this!?"

"No. Maybe... a little... okay yes I did!" Lemon snapped.

Sour scrunched her face, "Okay... I don't even know where to start. Why was she my date? Why were any of you involved? And why the *BLEEP* did you guys help her go on a date with me!?"

The girls didn't move a muscle after she yelled, but Sunny Flare stepped forward.

"You don't understand, do you? Do you even know why she did this?"

Sour shook her head, and Lemon stepped forward.

"Sour... mind if I say something?"

Sour rolled her eyes and groaned, "Fine."

Lemon looked Sour straight in the eye, and with a serious face, she spoke.

"Smallfoot did all of this because she loves you. And I'm not joking, she really actually loves you. Ever since you two met, she's secretly been falling in love with you every waking moment. You get along with her more than... well more than me, just as an example."

"So? How does that equal to her going on a date with me?"

"I'm not done," Lemon raised her hand. "She disguised herself as Big Rig because she wanted to make you happy. She did all of this because she couldn't stand to see you sad anymore. She did all of this, because of you. She loves you so much, she went through the human masquerade again just to make you happy," Lemon finished as she stood her ground.

Sour's angry composure was starting to go away as she heard what Lemon was explaining to her. She actually loved her? She went through all of this just because she loved her?

"S-She... she loves me?" Sour stammered.

The girls nodded.

"You don't know how much she does Sour. I've never seen a girl go this far with this much effort to win over someone," Sugarcoat stated.

Sour's jaw lowered and her eyes were wide. She couldn't believe this. Smallfoot put this much effort to make her happy... and she yelled at her. She yelled at the girl that was trying to make her happy. She flat out hurt the girl who was trying to make her feel loved and wanted again, and she didn't even acknowledge it. She must be feeling terrible right now.

"I... I have to talk to her. I have to make things right. W-Where did she go?"

"I think she's still in the bathroom," Sugarcoat replied.

Sour sighed, "I'm gonna go talk to her. Feel free to leave if you want."

"We ain't leaving ya Sour," Lemon smiled, "We're just gonna wait outside for you. That is if we can avoid the swarm of Monster Renegades outside."

Sour nodded, "Okay. I'll be back."

The girls nodded.

"Just go talk to your truck, we'll be waiting," Sugarcoat replied.

Sour nodded and she briskly walked away and entered into the bathroom. All around were white tiles and there were five stalls. Four of which were open, and the other was closed and there was a visible lock shown on it. She listened carefully and she heard the sounds of whimpering and crying coming from within the stall. Smallfoot was crying.

It was now or never for her to make things up with her and to discuss this like adults. She took a deep breathe and exhaled. She knocked on the stall door.

"Smallfoot? C-Can I talk to you?"

"Go away! You've made it very clear you don't even like me anymore, just go away!"

"S-Smallfoot I never said I didn't like you anymore. P-Please, can I talk to you? Can we just talk about this?"

Smallfoot continued to whimper until she came with a response.

"A-Alright..."

The lock on the door switched to unlocked, allowing Sour Sweet to walk in. She closed the door behind her, and saw Smallfoot was leaning her back against the wall, on the floor, hugging her knees and burying her face in her arms.

Sour took a seat next to her broken date with a sad expression on her face.

"Can I talk to you?" Sour asked.

Smallfoot just whimpered some more, "W-Why? Aren't you just gonna yell some more?"

Sour looked away for a brief moment and took a moment and sighed.

"Smallfoot?... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like that when I found out. I just... I don't know. I'm not mad, is what I'm trying to say."

Smallfoot only slightly raised her head up, exposing her eyes which looked bloodshot, even the around the part where her metal skin was exposed.

"Smallfoot? Can I ask why you did this?"

Smallfoot lowered her head in shame, "What's the point? I think its clear you don't like me the same way I like you."

"Smallfoot. Please?" Sour asked.

Smallfoot's voice heavily shaked as she took a moment to breathe in and out so she could talk.

"Sour, I did this because... because...", Smallfoot felt her lips trembling and her eyes watering again, "It was the only way I could spend time with you again!"

Sour was sent back shocked, "W-What?"

"I wanted to make you feel better, but you never let me! I knew you were sad and I wanted to help you, but you kept pushing me away! I put on this disguise just so I could see you again! It was the only time you ever talked to me! I wanted to help you, I wanted to make you happy! W-Was that too much for me to do? I just wanted to see you smile again... I'm sorry I'm so selfish! Is it something wrong with me!? Am I the problem!?"

Smallfoot was now sobbing her eyes out and her face was buried in her arms again. She couldn't even look Sour in the eyes right now. She cried helplessly in her arms while Sour just sat there in complete shock.

She looked down at herself just thinking about everything that had happened in the last week. Was she really neglecting Smallfoot that much? Did she really not pay so much attention that she did something risky just so she could talk to her again? How could she have ignored her? How could have she been so horrible? So stubborn... so uncaring...

"Is... is this why you went on a date with me?"

"Yes," Smallfoot whimpered, "I just wanted to give you the girl you deserved! I just... I wanted to make you happy..."

Sour personally wanted to punch herself. Did she drive Smallfoot that much to do something behind her back just to make her happy again? To go out of her comfort zone and lie to her just so she could be happy?

Sour didn't waste another second and she pulled Smallfoot in, holding her and hugging her. And she couldn't hold back any tears.

"Smallfoot I'm so sorry...", Sour cried, "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry..."

Smallfoot's arms moved from out of her knees and she sat up a bit so she could wrap her arms around Sour's back, holding her and soaking her shoulder with her tears.

"No, Sour don't cry...", Smallfoot said.

"I'm so sorry... I didn't even know I pushed you away. I'm so horrible..."

A few minutes passed by as the two girls kept crying on each other's shoulders, saddened by the fear of neglect and abandonment, not wanting to lose what they had. How could Sour be such a bad friend that she didn't go to the one person who would always listen to her when she needed support?

As soon as they finished crying, they backed away and looked each other in the eyes. Both had tear stains down their cheeks, and their eyes were bloodshot. Sour wiped away another tear from Smallfoot's eye, and Smallfoot returned by wiping another tear from her eye.

"Smallfoot, I am so sorry... How can I express how sorry I am to you?"

Smallfoot was in complete silence. She wasn't even sure how to think right now. But Sour didn't stop speaking, and she spoke again.

"Smallfoot."

She turned and looked at Sour again who offered a friendly smile back.

"My feelings haven't changed for you. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you how I felt."

Smallfoot nodded and a weak smile came on her face. She felt her heart warm up at Sour's smile, and the feeling of abandonment was going away.

She pulled Sour in for another hug, and the two were finally calmed down. Sour's embrace felt so warm to Smallfoot, she didn't want their hug to end.

The two stopped hugging and they looked forward to the blank wall of the bathroom stall, trying to think. What could they do now? What could they even say now?

"Smallfoot? Do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Oh, no, of course."

"Um... do you really... love me?"

Smallfoot's humiliation returned, and her cheeks were turning red as velvet cake.

"Smallfoot, its okay. You're safe with me, I won't be mad."

Smallfoot sighed, "Okay, yes I do. I loved you from the day we first met."

"I'm listening."

"Okay, well...," Smallfoot sighed, "Ever since we met at the Friendship Games, and when you helped me and my friends against our enemy, I've slowly began feeling love for you. You were the sweetest girl I met, and you always made me happy. I was always happy when you were around because you made me feel happy... oh gosh, what am I saying? I just sound creepy..."

Sour looked to Smallfoot's eyes, "Actually... I don't think that's creepy."

Smallfoot turned to look at Sour.

"R-Really?"

"Mmmhmm. I honestly think that's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me. Honest."

That made Smallfoot's frown turn upside, giving Sour a smile in return.

"And, honestly, I... I kind of, like that you love me. I didn't know one anyone even felt this way about me."

"Well I do," Smallfoot said, blushing.

Sour just giggled, she looked so cute when she blushed, "You know... I think it's really sweet that you did all of this for me. No one's ever gone this far just to make me happy."

Smallfoot just lowered her head away from Sour.

"But Sour... but I lied to you, I lied to your face just so I could go on a date with you. How can--"

Sour silenced her by putting a finger over her lips, getting her to stop talking so she could speak.

"Smallfoot... what you did for me was the sweetest, kindest, most wonderful thing you've ever done."

Smallfoot smiled, "R-Really?

"Mmmhmm," Sour nodded with a warm smile.

"I... I don't know what to say."

"Its okay. Don't say anything. But... as long as we're confessing things, I've got something to say as well."

"Okay, well, what is it?" Smallfoot sat up, giving Sour her undivided attention.

"I, um... I... I sort of, kinda...", Sour stammered, "I... love you too."

Smallfoot's mood skyrocketed in the air, and a big smile came on her face.

"You... you love me?"

"Y-Yes. I do."

"W... Well why didn't you tell me?"

Sour sighed, "Because I didn't know how you'd feel. I didn't know you felt the same way, and... I didn't want to make things awkward between us."

Smallfoot still smiled to Sour, "Sour, nothing's going to be awkward between us. I promise you that."

Sour looked back at Smallfoot, "But what if people make fun of us for it? What if they think we're weirdos, what if our boss finds out? He's not gonna be happy if he finds out that we're--"

Sour was interrupted by Smallfoot pulling her close... and kissing her right on the lips. Sour was caught by surprise and was stiff for a split-second, but soon she felt herself calming down and she wrapped her arms around Smallfoot's neck, relaxing in her embrace. Sour didn't even try to fight back, because she didn't want to.

It was at this moment in time, Sour felt calm, relaxed, and happy. Smallfoot's lips tasted like sweet candy.

The two broke from the kiss and stared into each other's eyes.

"Sour? I know this may seem weird but... there are more weird relationships out there, I can honestly say that. But... this I want to say. I want to make you happy. I want to be the girl you deserve... I want to be your girlfriend."

Sour was dead silent for a second, but she blushed and had a small but adorable smile on her face.

"Sour? Um... D-Did I--"

Sour didn't let Smallfoot finish, and she pulled her in for another kiss. Smallfoot didn't argue or pull back, but she relaxed as well, calming down with Sour's sweet sweet kiss.

The two looked into each other's eyes with passion.

"Sour... can I have the honor of being your girlfriend?" Smallfoot asked.

Sour felt tears welling up in her eyes, but these were out of happiness.

"Y-Yes! Yes, of course!"

Sour pulled Smallfoot in again, and kissed her again, the two staring deeply into each other's eyes.

"Smallfoot? I know I said yes but... can I be your girlfriend? I know your dates weren't the greatest but--"

"Yes... yes!" Smallfoot squeed as she gave Sour a big hug. Too big of a hug.

Sour just giggled and wrapped her arms around Smallfoot, the two hugging each other for the longest time. They had gotten through hard struggles, but in the end, they were finally together. The two girls loved each other from the start, and now, they were finally together. Their hearts melted as they held one another.

Sour was so warm, delicate, and sweet. Holding Sour in her arms felt amazing. She gave a kiss on her cheek and Sour nuzzled him in return, making her heart melt. She looked absolutely adorable right now, resting her head on her chest.

"Smallfoot?" Sour asked, "What do you say... you and I go out? But this time... I want you. The real you."

Smallfoot smiled, "I would love that."

Smallfoot nuzzled Sour as she held her in her arms.

"I'm so happy you're finally mine," Smallfoot said before giving her another kiss.

Sour and Smallfoot had never felt so happy.

Author's Note

So they're finally together now.

I'll admit, the ending to this chapter could have been written better, but again, this is my first time writing official romance.

Don't leave just yet, I believe we've got one more chapter left. :raritywink:
