Hearts and Hooves day.

It was a beautiful sunny day in Ponyville, the perfect day for the big Hearts and Hooves day celebration. All the ponies were helping with the decorations to make it a huge success. “Banner, check.” Twilight said, as she checked yet another task off of her checklist. The day had only begun, and there was still lots to do. She had received a letter from Princess Celestia just a few days prior that Luna was coming down to Ponyville to help with the festivities. Twilight looks up and notices the skies are still cloudy, and Celestia had told her to make sure the sky was clear. “Spike! Can you go find Rainbow? She was suppose to clear the skies, but I haven’t seen her all day.” “Sure Twilight!” Spike calls back, as he started on his way to Sweet Apple Acres, where she was to help Applejack with collecting apples for the day. As Twilight checked yet another thing off her list, her mind began to wander. Her and Luna had been having weekly meeting to talk about the stars and dream walking, but slowly Twilight began to notice she had feelings for the night princess. She would feel her face begin to get hot if they bumped each other or locked eyes for too long. She was always worried that if she told Luna about her feelings, she might not feel the same way and it might hurt their friendship.

Twilight suddenly snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Pinkie call out. “Hiya, Twitwi!” Twilight sees Pinkie approaching her, bouncing along and smiles. She had that effect on ponies. “Hey Pinkie. Did you fin...” “Already done!” Pinkie shouts, now bouncing in place holding a cookie in her hand. Pinkie hands it to Twilight, and looks expectantly. “What do you want me to do with this?” “Well duh, try it silly!” Twilight takes a small bite out of the corner of the heart shaped cookie, and her eyes light up. “Wow Pinkie! These are great! What's in them?” Pinkie, who has not stopped bouncing in place, simply smiles and says “I can't tell you that, Silly filly! Then it wouldn't be a secret recipe, now would it?” Twilight giggles. “I guess not. Well, make sure they are ready for today!”

Just as she says that, she hears wing beats above, and sees the chariot coming down from the sky near her home. “Well, I better go gr...” Twilight turns back to where Pinkie was standing, but there is nopony there. She simply shrugs and walks over to the chariot as Luna steps off. “Twilight! How nice to see you again!” Twilight again feels her face grow hot, and attempts to cover it. “Hey princess! I didn't expect you until later tonight! What brings you here so early?” Luna walks over to Twilight and says “We... I left a little early in case you needed more help.” Twilight looks around and notices the clouds in the sky are gone, and there is only a few more things that need to be set up. She turns to face Luna and looks back at her list. “It seems we got almost everything done ahead of schedule... Do you want a cup of tea?” Luna giggles, but Twilight doesn't notice. “Tea sounds great, Twilight.”

As they begin walking, Spike comes running back, and stops panting in front of Twilight. She lightly giggles and asks "Did you run all the way there?" Spike stops panting and says "Yeah, I figured the faster i got there, the better. Also I couldn't find Rainbow, but it looks like she got to the skies already.” Twilight smiles. “Thank you Spike, could you do me a favor and make some tea? Luna is here early.” Spike, looking like he just saw a ghost, turns to Luna and quickly bows. “Princess! I didn't realize you were here!” This time, its Luna who giggles. Spike runs inside before either of the mares can say anything as they share a laugh. The two walk inside and sit down on the cushions Twilight had out from her study session just a day prior. “So, Twilight, how have you been? It has been awhile.” Twilight seems to be drifting off in her own thoughts again, so Luna repeats herself. This time, it gets Twilight's attention. “Fine, Princess. I've been studying.” Luna giggles. “I can see that.” Luna looks at Twilight again and says “You need not call me princess, Twilight. Luna will do.” Twilight looks at Luna, embarrassed. She has been trying to get out of the habit when its just them talking, but she's been having some difficulty.

“Sorry pri... Luna. Its a hard habit to break... I... I need to tell you something.” Luna looks at Twilight, concerned. “Is something the matter, Twilight?” Twilight's face turns a light shade of red, and she tries to cover it yet again. “You know you can tell me anything, Twilight.” Twilight simply looks at Luna, cheeks still red, and plants a kiss right on her lips. She quickly pulls back and looks away, embarrassed about what she just did. Luna, still taken by surprise from the sudden kiss, looks at Twilight. Twilight, still looking away begins to think. “Did I mess it up? Is she going to hate me now?” She feels a hoof turn her head back to face Luna, as she feels Luna kiss her suddenly. Twilight's cheeks glow a bright red, but soon she melts into the kiss. “I got the Tea!” Spike yells, turning into the room. He drops the tea, shocked by what he saw. He quickly turns around and simply yells to them “Ew! Get a room you two!” The two break the kiss and look at each other, both still blushing, and begin to giggle. “I love you Luna...” Luna looks at Twilight, smiling, and says “I love you too, Twilight.”
