Young Shining Armor received his first homework. His first REAL homework. Gone were times of foal-play in magic Kindergarten. No, sir, Shining Armor was determined to show his new teacher what he was made of. Primary school required him to stand on top of his academic prowess! No more noodle paintings! This was IT! He was going to write an essay!

Mr. Sharp Pencil, his new teacher, ordered his pupils to write at home about what interests them, and Shining Armor was going to deliver.

Problem was he didn't know what to write about. All his school friends were going to write about their toys or sibling or parents.

Shining Armor was ambitious! His homework will stand out as a shining example of greatness in the see of mediocre homework's.

But first he needed a Topic. Something that would seize attention of Mr. Sharp Pencil. So the question was :

What does Mr. Sharp Pencil find interesting?

Shining Armor had no idea. But ...   Mr. Sharp Pencil was a stallion. Only other stallion that Shining Armor know was his father... Ergo:

What does Father find interesting? Hmmm... Econ... Economy! Yes, dad is talking all the time about it.

So it was settled. Shining Armor was going to write an essay about  Economy!

He prepared his new notebook and pencil. As he begun to write his historical, world changing treaty on Economy of Equestria (his Opus Vitae), he realized that he knows nothing about this "Economy".

It was research time!

Who could answer all his questions? Who had both knowledge and authority to speak about Economy! Who else than Shining Armors  father him self.

Wasting no time Shining Armor run to his Father and asked THE question:

"Dad what is Economy?"

Night Light looked at his son curiously and asked, "why do you want to know?"

"Its my homework," answered his son proudly." In going to write about Equestrian Economy."

When the initial shock passed Night Light decided to indulge his son AND maybe actually educate him on something.

"OK, Shining Armor you want to know how does Economy in Equestria tick?"

"YES!"

"Then listen. Equestria is like our home and Economy describe relations between ponies in our home. I'm a Capitalist because I bring all the money. Your Mother is Government because she spends all the money. Your Grandfather is the trade unions because he complains about everything.  Our maid is cheap labour because she is the only one who actually works around here. You are the People and your sister is the Future. Do you understand?"

Shining Armor looked at his father and his notes.

"Yes. Thank you dad!"

With this newly acquired knowledge Shining Armor was reddy to write his homework.

Unfortunately he didn't make it in time before the bed time. He was forced to postpone writing the conclusion for the next day.

At some point in the night he was woken up by cry's of his sister. He went to her room where she lay in a crib. Even from a distance he could smell that she had full diaper.

So he went to his parents room, to inform them about it.

His mother was snoring mightily and had plugs in her ears. Shining Armor tried to wake her up but with no success.

His father was missing.

Shining Armor decided to wake up the maid.

When he approached the Maids room he heard his father, but the way was blocked by his grandfather who was picking through the key hole.

He tried to inform his grandfather that his sister diaper was full but the old stallion shooed him away and ordered to go to sleep.

The next morning he finished his essay and went to school, where he read it to his teacher.

The "Economics, Capitalism and Equestria," essay by Shining Armor, conclusion.

When Government is asleep, Capitalist screw the cheap labour, while Trade Unions watch. The People are totally ignored while the  Future lies in shit.

Shining Armor asks his father the difference between Communists and Socialists. The father replies "Communists shoot you in the head immediately; Socialists torment you your whole life."
