Prologue Part 1View OnlineThe New MoonPrologue Part 1The New Moon Prologue Part 1 By Greed and Giving Princess Luna is in her room conversing with Nightmare Moon when I knock on the door “May I come in Luna?” I ask. “I must speak with the both of you on an important matter.” I state. “Yes Greed you may enter, and what matter do you need to speak to both of us about?” Luna and Nightmare Moon ask me as I enter ‘her’ room, closing the door behind me. I state ”I know what you are planning to do, bring eternal night to Equestria and banish your sister away for a thousand year but I’m going to tell you that that is a really bad thing to do. I want to help both of you out and the only way to do that is for you to be banished instead.” Both mares get very hostile upon hearing this and with enough magic to hold and make sure I can not move they slam me into the wall of their room, walks over and asks in a double voice “And why is that dear friend, for thou have no understanding as to what you are saying to us.” they both state mere inches from my face. “Yes I do, I just want to help you both and fix something that should not have happened to you both before you were born.” I say with a bit of strain, which peaks their interest into what I have to say. “What is it that happened to us before we were born Greed, and choose your words carefully for we will smite you if you lie to us.” they tell me as I am let go of and slide to the floor. It takes a few moments for me to regain my breathing and to answer the statement that was addressed to me, “You were suppose to have a twin sister Luna, but while still in the womb you had absorbed you twin, it’s a rare instance called Vanishing Twin Syndrome in my world and we didn’t know that it had happened till the third visit to the doctor. The first visit told your parents that Selena, you mother, was pregnant and the second visit four months later told us that there was going to be twins. Your parents were ecstatic to hear this good news the first time because they knew that Celestia could not handle all of the royal responsibilities on her own when she came of age, that she would need a younger brother or sister to help her, the second just floored them and was a real big surprise to even your father Solaris for now he may have three children instead of two.” I state. As I am telling them this their face is in total shock and awe over everything that they have just learned. “But how does this have to do with you wanting us to be banished, how will this let you fix what happened to us?” they asked still in their double voice and sitting on the ground with their arms around their knees. I walk over and pull them into a tight hug and wait till their breathing is calmed a little before I tell them my plan. “Are you sure that it will work, and does Tia know about this?” they ask me which is something I was expecting to hear “Why no Tia does not know, but I will tell her the next time I am back in this world. I have maybe two and a half years left before whatever is affecting me sends me back, and I want to get started with this plan before that happens and both of you are gone.” I state to both before giving them a hug and leaving their room to go to my lab to start preparing everything for their return. I work tirelessly for the next two years on setting up what is needed for the success of this if Luna and her twin are to survive in the future. On my last night in Equestria I give both Celestia and Luna/Nightmare Moon their hugs and wish them good luck in ruling and that next time I come back that I will make them their favorite Earthling food from Earth and also bring them some gifts like I always do when I return, whenever this spell/curse/thingy wants to bring me back. I fade back to Earth and glad that it’s the same as when I left (one of the perks that this thing can do is freeze time on Earth for me.) which was when I was playing Skyrim on my Xbox 360. Yea I know ‘You still have a Xbox 360, you need to upgrade’ but I’m trying to get a job for that, but anyway I just go back to what I was doing in the game (hunting vampires for the Dawnguard) and wondering if the spells I had setup will be strong enough for what is planned when Luna and Nightmare Moon come back from their banishment. I return back to Equestria a month later and find the castle damaged and in disarray from the battle that Celestia and her ‘sister’ had, wondering if my lab is safe I turn to head in that direction and I get tackled from behind. Afraid that I’m being attacked I flare my magic,(by all the gods it’s good to have my magic back) and start to prepare a spell when I heard crying and sniffling from behind me. Turning, I see Celestia and a few pissed/confused guards looking at me. “You are finally back Greed, I needed you here for the last five hundred years.” Celestia says with tears in her eyes and snot running from her nose, which I clean both and give her a hug that brings a smile to her face. “I’m sorry Tia, but you know I can’t really control this power/curse/thingy very well, but I’m here now and we can talk while I need to check something in my lab."
Prologue Part 2View OnlineThe New MoonPrologue Part 2The New Moon Prologue Part 2 By Greed and Giving Celestia was flabbergasted by what she sees in my lab, there in an oversized cylinder floating in a clear, nutrition rich growth gel is a preteen alicorn mare. I’m checking on her heart rate/vitals and making sure that the magic that is required to keep her alive hasn’t faltered any during the last five centuries. “What have you done here Greed?” Celestia asks after getting her brain to start working again, “What is all of this, where did you get her and why did you not tell me any of this?” she continues to ask while staring in horror at the young mare. “Well your parents gave me this room to work on anything I want, like combining magic from this world with technology from my world to maybe help every being on Equus when their were all ready for it, and I cloned her from your sister because of her condition, and before you ask yes your parents were okay with what I am doing.” Celestia turns to look at me with shock and asks “What is wrong with my sister and how will this help her out?” I point to a chair that is in front of a desk, grab some tea that I had started when we entered the lab and pouring it into two cups. After giving Celestia her cup and sitting down myself I enlighten her on Luna’s condition and why I made a clone for the end result.Celestia was shocked of course about all that I have told about Luna’s condition being critical. “Why did you not tell me any of this before I banished Luna and Nightmare Moon to the moon, we could have found a solution that didn’t involve them being banished, and my parents knew all this and didn’t tell us for what reason could keep this from us?” Celestia yells at me after I have told everything that has happened from Luna’s conception to the last time I was in Equestria. Taking a deep breath and getting everything together in my head I start off explaining to her with, “Celestia, dear, the reason why I didn’t tell you about this is because of that very reason that you just said ‘that we could find a way without banishment’ but trust me on this when I say that your father and I have thought of near infinite ways to try but each failed in a horrible way. Your parents didn’t tell you girls because they wanted y’all to grow up normally and we prayed to every deity in existence after Luna turned one hundred and twenty, which is for an alicorn like both of you about twelve for a human, that she would make it to her next birthday. “The banishment means that the new Element Bearers will be born and we need them for this to work, and no you two could not use them on Luna cause you needed her to use them. Though you’re student Twilight Sparkle and her friends that she will make in Ponyville are the next Element Bearers and are the only solution that I have seen will work on this problem.” Celestia looks at me with a confused look and asks “What do you mean that they are the only solution that you have seen, are you not telling me everything I need to know about this? For if that is so then please tell me everything you know about what you can, and then we will work on what you need to finish all of this.” Which give me a smile as I know she would not want to sit and do nothing when it can to her now sisters. “Well Celestia do you remember when I had brought all four of you to my world those times I could get this thing to work for me?” I ask and she does a shaky hand which tells me that she does a little bit. “Well on one of those trips to my world you girls watch a TV show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. In fact you two watched the very first two episodes. The looks on both your faces was total shock and awe when you saw the quadrupedal versions of yourselves was so cute, and that was what gave your father the idea for them to be banished and ‘purified’ by the Elements of Harmony.” I take our cups and put them in the sink, Celestia sitting there thinking it over while watching me clean the dishes and then she asks “When do you want to start checking everything that you have put into place and see if any of it has weakened over the last few centuries, and I can help with anything you need?” “Thank you Celly for the help that is really appreciated and will make things go faster, and maybe some of your guards will help too.” I say while giving her a hug. “Let’s get started on all the seals that will help with the holding and transfer of her. Thank you again Celestia cause this would have taken me months to get it done.” We spent the next couple of hours modifying, reinforcing and made sure everything was as is should be for the night that ‘Nightmare Moons’ would return and the transfer of soul to body. After everything was perfect Celestia invited me to stay at the new castle in Canterlot for the remainder of my time in Equestria. I said yes, though I had a few requests for my stay. After settling in at the new castle and eating a marvelous diner Celestia starts introducing me to all the nobles and explaining who and what I am, and let me tell you that when we got to the Bluebloods I was surprised that they were very civilized ponies and felt bad that one of their descendants would drag their name through the mud. Celestia could tell that there was something wrong and waited till we politely excused yourselves to ask what the problem was, which I chuckled and said “It was something I know about a member of their bloodline later on, and if he ever messes with me or my friends I’ll make him disappear.” Ten Years Later In Equestria... I just finish up on a seal that was starting to age like milk when I felt the pull of home. So I get up from my chair in the lab, looking at cylinder and noticing that the body is growing at an average rate for an alicorn, looking about thirteen to fourteen, and walk over to Celestia who fell asleep again while making plans at what she will do for after the return of her sisters. “Celestia you need to wake up now and head home.” I say while poking her in the face with my finger and chuckling at her response of swatting my hand and mumbling something about cake and someone getting a fork stabbed in they. “All right Sunbutt time to get up and out.” I say while pushing her out of the chair and on her royal flank, which woke her up in a grumpy mood. “What was that for? Could you not see that I was asleep?” she asks while looking around with a confused look on her face till she remembers where she is. “Oh, why did you push me like that?” Celestia asks. “Well I did try the gentle way first, but you threatened me or someone getting stabbed for touching your cake, yeah you may have learned that from me, but that didn’t work so I pushed you cause I knew that would work on waking you up, and I’m going to go home here shortly so you need to head back home.” I say and give her a hug goodbye. Chapter 1View OnlineThe New MoonChapter 1New Moon Chapter 1 By Greed and Giving “Well tomorrow will be a thousand years since we were banished up here, and I am excited about going home, how about you Nightie?” Luna asks me while I’m thinking of other things. “NIGHTIE ARE YOU THERE, EQUUS TO NIGHTIE!!” Luna yells at me, which if I had a body would have made me fall on my flank from surprise and made me deaf. “What Luna, why did you yell at me for?” I ask when I can think clearly again, “ What do you want right now anyway?” I ask while looking at her inside our prison for the last thousand years. “Well I just asked if you were excited about tomorrow because we get to go back home after a thousand years up here, I wonder if ponies will still recognize us after all these years? Or have they forgotten us and we will have to start all over again with them.” Luna says while going through a small emotional rainbow, which makes me laugh a little bit. “Sis I think we’ll be fine when we get back, everything is going to be okay. You need to relax and calm down, yes they may have forgotten about us, but that is something we can work on with them from the time we get back to the end of our days. I’m more worried about how they will take to me since there was one pony sent to the moon, then suddenly now there are two of us. What do you think they’ll all say about that.” I ask her for the uptinith time in the last millennia. “Well we will have to see what happens won’t we Nightie, and thank you for calming me down, it’s just so exciting to know we will be going home soon.” Luna says, “And you will finally have your very own body again, are you going to tell me that you are not looking forward to that at least?” she asks which makes me suddenly remember what I was thinking about before Luna yelled at me. “Yeah I’m really nervous about the future is all, like what will I do and what will be my domain to rule over?” I say out loud and Luna came over and hugged me with a reassuring smile that I have seen countless times since I had awoken in her when we were still fillies. “Well I’m sure that we can figure out what you can do, but I wouldn’t doubt that Greed and Celestia are also coming up with stuff for us as we were up here and you know that they can be counted on for anything when the as Greed would say ‘tough gets going’.” which made us both laugh. The Next Night We came back to Equestria as was known and greeted by our sister Celestia, all by herself, surprisingly hugging us even though we were still in our ‘Nightmare Moon’ form. “I’m so glad you two are back and okay, but you have to hurry up and go to Ponyville, say that you have banished me and then head to our old castle and I will inform you when you get there on everything. Greed should be finishing his check list on everything he started a week ago after coming back,” she gives us another hug again and starts pushing us away “Go, go you need to hurry!” we’re confused but do as we are told to do, and on the way to our old castle we set some traps that won’t hurt anypony but slow them down enough to hear what is going on. A Couple Hours Later Tia and Greed are done telling us what the plan is when there is an alarm going off letting us know that Twilight and her friends have made it to the castle and it is time for me to keep the ‘bad guy’ act up just a little bit more. Oh the fun this is was worth the thousand years imprisonment and finally able to get a body is the cherry on top. As Greed would say ‘You deserve an Oscar for that performance’ as we nailed the ‘evil alicorn princess’ act to make Twilight, RD, Rarity, AJ, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie awaken to who they are meant to be, though getting hit with the Rainbow Cannon did hurt a little bit when I was removed from Luna’s body then all is white. “Well hello there Nightie, how are you feeling now?” is what I hear after could have been an eternity but was most likely a few seconds, “I feel fuzzy all over, why is that?” I ask Greed when I recognize his voice and look around to see that I can see everywhere at one time. “What happened to me?!” I scream in fear. “Hold on Nightie, you’re are going to be alright okay right now you are in a soul crystal, waiting to be put in your new body. I’m just finishing the prep work on the process of infusing you to it, and the answer to your first question is that what you’re feeling is what most people call an out of body experience that a lot of people have either when they die and are brought back or it’s not their time yet and are brought back on their own, it’s a weird phenomenon but you’re the first to feel it in reverse.” he says with a chuckle at the last part. The next thing I feel is moving faster than what I thought was possible then a sudden stop and then I feel a weird tingling all over. “Okay Nightie you can open your eyes now and see the world, and don’t forget to breath.” Greed tells me in a new direction and a little muffled. When I open my eyes I now know why he’s muffled and farther away, for I am now in a tank with some weird clear blue-ish liquid in it, and I freak out a little bit till I remember to breath, see as there is a breathing mask on my face. “What is going on and why do I tingle all over the place?” I ask with a hoarse voice. “Well Nightie the reason for the tingling is your new body and your soul are adjusting to each other and that should be done anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of days, and I want to know how you feel other than the tingling like any pain, nausea or lightheadedness cause that could be a bad thing or maybe a good thing, not really sure.” Greed says with curiosity in his voice as he walks into my focus while looking at me. “Hmmmm, your body seems to look like Luna’s but you still have the slit like eyes, please open your mouth so I can see your teeth?” he asks to which I do. “You have fangs like a Thestral pony, I’ll have to do a physical check-up on you here in a little bit after I drain the tank and you get dry from the grow-goo, funny name because your mom named it that, oh she would be so proud that all our hard work has paid off.” he says while pushing some buttons and I can feel a soft suction coming from underneath me as the goo is slowly starting to drain. “But I know that they are watching from where ever they are now, happy that you are now an individual pony again.” With the goo now at chest level I remove the mask and say “Do you think that they would have like the way I look, case they don’t know if this was what I looked like before that happened to me, or would they have disliked me and gotten rid of me?” I ask him, cause he knew my parents better than anypony else in the world. “Now that’s not fair to Selena and Solaris, your parents, because they loved all three of you with all their heart and wouldn’t have given you up for the way you look, hold on to my hand and step lightly to the ground when you feel like it okay, anywhere they love you as much as Luna and Celestia, so now need to worry about it.” he told me while he was helping me out of the open tank after it finished emptying out. “Now come sit down over here and let’s test your reflexes.” Author's Note next chapter starts in Twilight's P.O.V.
Chapter 2View OnlineThe New MoonChapter 2New Moon Chapter 2 By Greed the Giving “...and so that’s why we are going down here Twilight, to see if my friend Greed have completed what he started almost a thousand years ago and you all get to meet him at the same time.” Celestia tell the Mane Six after they had the celebration in Ponyville, and have now returned to the old castle, with a few guards in toe that were stationed at the entrance of the castle and the passageway that they are now going through. “But Princess why did you say it was urgent for us to come with you, you could have brought him back with the both of you when you left here and stopped by at the library.” Twilight says with a confused look on her face. “OHOHOHOH I KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON” exclaims Pinkie Pie, “It has something to do with Nightmare Moon and us being the Elements of Harmony right Princess?” Pinkie asks with her friends looking at her with shocked and confused looks on their faces. Without showing any surprise at this at all Celestia smiled and nodded while Luna said with a sad look “You are right Pinkie Pie, for what you all have done was not save Equestria from Nightmare Moon, but saved both me and her from a terrible fate, one that if we were not banished, would have befallen us much sooner.” This really confuses the Mane Six, what were they talking about? How was Princess Luna in danger from that involved Nightmare Moon, and who is this mysterious friend that they were going to meet when they hear some weird music coming from behind a metal and glass door, that never should have been there. Celestia opens and walks in the door followed by Luna while the rest of us look at each other, excluding Pinkie, with looks of concern on our faces as we start to follow in. “What are you doing to Nightie, cause that looks to be a very compromising position you are in Greed.” Luna says with a slight chuckle to this ‘Greed’ pony when we walk over to see a midnight blue coat with light lavender mane and tail, a horn with bat wing like a thestral, which is a shockingly weird combination to say the least. She turns to look at Luna and Celestia with a big grin on her face and says “Sisters how do you like my new body, I think it could have just a little bit more height to it but at least I have one for myself right.” She turns to look at us and we see the same eyes that looked at us earlier thou with happiness and joy in them that it’s hard to believe that she was so evil not even four hours ago. “Ah there are the heros of the hour, how are you six doing?” she asks and waits for a reply. “I’m doing fine, just a little shocked to see a thestral alicorn were there shouldn’t be one.” I say to her, which causes her to laugh. “Oh Twilight Sparkle you are just so funny, but I do agree with you that a thestral alicorn is odd to say the least, but Greed here told me that my body has taken the form that my soul wanted, isn’t that right Greed?” she asked one of the weirdest creatures I have seen in my life. It looked like one of us ponies but had no fur except on it’s face, which was smaller than ours, but still similar, small eyes that are a brown color. His mane is an auburn red coloration, and he is as tall as we are. “Hello, my name is Greed, it’s nice to finally meet you girls after knowing about you for a few years, and before you ask Twilight a lot of what I know about you girls is strictly need to know information about your futures, and a few parallels, but anything else you can ask me about.” he says while smiling at our shocked faces, “Well the only one of you that can guess right on any of what I know is Pinkie Pie, but that’s cause she’s Pinkie and no one can really figure her out. But anyway still nice to meet you all and I hope we can be friends.” Greed says after that little bit of shocking info, oh I plan to learn everything that he knows about us and everything about him even if it drives me insane. “Well I’m wondering what is going on here and who is this new alicorn right here?” Rarity asks Celestia, Luna, and Greed. I was to distracted by what I was told to remember what was going on. “Well let me start at the beginning, but before that would any of you nice some tea and snacks?” Greed asks. We all agree that that would be nice and Rarity even mentioned that he is a very good host to have. After he has made the tea and even brought some snacks he sits and begins telling us of where comes from, who he is, how he got to Equestria, how he knew the princesses and their parents, and what he plans to do if he can stay longer in our world. “I am quite surprised that you let them know about the show Greed, but why might I ask did you tell them?” Celestia asked after finishing her third cup of tea. We all started to wonder why too, or at least I was wondering, and what Greed said was very interesting. “For Twilight really, I know she was going to ask about how I knew about them and how I knew the exact spot that she would ‘fight’ Nightmare Moon, and I can tell that she has more questions for me, but right now is not a good time for that at all.” Greed said, but how did he know that? “I know that you are a very curious mare Twilight and I can only reveal info as it happens or after, which reminds me I need to go talk to a certain pony after I make sure Night here is stable enough to leave this area of the castle.” “I can help with that if you want Greed, I’m good with spel formulas and matrices if you would let me learn your type of magic?” I ask because when will an opportunity like this happen again in my lifetime. “Well Twilight I would be honored if you would help me, but there is not much I could teach you that you don’t already know of my magic.” Greed says with a smile. “And why is that?” I ask. “Because Twilly you have been reading quite a few of my books, in fact I’m your favorite author on magic and it’s uses, though this use is a few centuries to late to publish.” Greed said with a chuckle, which confuses me a little bit. “My work is under the pen name of ‘Starwhirl the Bearded’ and this is where Twilight will scream in 5, 4, 3…” he says while covering his ears as I am shocked to learn that my hero is right in front of me. “YOUR STARWHIRL THE BEARDED AND YOU CAN'T TEACH ME ANYMORE TO MAGIC!!!!!” I yell at the top of my lungs.
