One of the scientists, a young stallion named Vanilla Swirl, from the Canterlot Royal Observatory is working on a top secret project. With the potential dangers of the project becoming more apparent, Princess Celestia orders that the project be moved near the mountain that looks over the small town of Ponyville. On the way he runs into the Library and pops inside, to notice Spike. He then talks to Twilight and offers to let her see the project. When they get to the mountain, Twilight sees the project, which Vanilla explains has the potential to force a rip in space-time, theoretically one could travel from one place to another in the blink of an eye. When the machine is turned on they are able to see into the worm hole. What will they find in the darkness that lies beyond?
