//-------------------------------------------------------// Undermare: Your Underground Adventure! -by FNAFBRONY- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Some Backstory //-------------------------------------------------------// Some Backstory But Mommy, I don't want to go to bed! Yeah! I wanna stay up longer! *sigh* You two both know that you have school in the morning. I don't want you both to be sleeping instead of learning. But we can't sleep! Hmm, how about a bedtime story? Yay, stories! I want it to be about ponies and friendship. That's stupid. I want it to be about fighting and awesomeness! Well, if it will make you two sleep, I think I know a story that you should both like. What's it called Mommy? It's called Undermare. It's the story of war, ponies, magic, and most importantly, friendship. Would you like me to tell it to you two? Yes please mommy. Alright. So get comfortable, because this story requires a lot of explanation. Long ago, two races ruled the earth: HUMANS and PONIES. One day, war broke out between the two races. After a long battle, the humans were victorious. They sealed the ponies underground with a magic spell. So, the ponies live there, hoping one day that they would be let out. Until one day, someone showed up and changed all that. //-------------------------------------------------------// Fallen Down //-------------------------------------------------------// Fallen Down ACT I: The Ruins You wake up on a bed of yellow flowers. They felt comfy, but you got up anyway. The room was dark, except for a bright hole in the ceiling, which showed the bright, blue sky of your home. You look around, but nothing else screamed out at you to take a closer look at. The only thing to do was to follow the grey path away from where you landed. You proceeded to do so. After a bit of walking, you came across another bright room. A patch of green grass was placed in the centre of the room. But it was the thing on the grass that really caught your eye. On the grass, smiling happily, was a small, pink pony with a pink mane and tail. “Hi,” you hear the pony say in a high pitched voice. “I'm Pinkie! Pinkie the pony! You don't look like a pony. But I still love making new friends. Will you be my friend?” You nod your head up and down, telling Pinkie the answer is yes. “Yay! We're gonna be best friends forever! But first, since you’re new, I must have to teach you the ways of the underground! This is how we like to, umm, get to know eachother better! Let's begin!” You see a small bow appeared in front of you, with a red heart in the centre. You look down to see Pinkie, still smiling. “This is your soul, the thing that makes you different from everypony else! In fact, if you try hard enough, you can make your soul move! Try it!” Almost immediately after trying out what she said, the heart began to move throughout the box. “Looks like you got the hang of it,” she said with a giggle. “Now, in order for your soul to survive down here, you need to gather more ‘LV.’” You open your mouth and was about to ask the pony a question, but she answered it for you. “What's LV? It's LOVE, you silly filly! How you gather LOVE is up to you to find out. Now since your LOVE is unbelievably low, I might as well give you some myself. It's the least I can do.” She giggled as something soon appeared in the box that contained your soul. It looked like a cupcake, except it was pure white. “Here, have a delicious cupcake! It's fresh from the oven!” You move your soul towards the treat. Almost immediately after touching it, you feel a sharp pain in your stomach, where your heart is. The cupcake was now missing, leaving only your soul in the box. “You IDIOT!” Pinkie Pie shouted at you. You look down at her, noticing immediately that her name was now straight rather than curly. “You REALLY thought you could be friends with a pony? In this world, IT’S KILL OR BE KILLED!” More white cupcakes soon appeared around your soul, slowing getting closer and closer. You felt as if then and there, you were actually going to die. But that didn't happen. Before you could face your end, the cupcakes around you disappeared, leaving only your soul in the box. “Huh, that's not supposed to happen.” Pinkie Pie said, looking utterly confused. “Well, I guess you win this time. I'll see you soon, new best friend!” Before you knew it, Pinkie was gone. After a few seconds, the box that contained the heart disappeared, leaving you in the dark room. You notice what looks like a doorway in front of you, saying this is the only way out. So, you did what anyone would do in this situation; you went through it. You found yourself in a larger room than before. It made from purple bricks and the flooring was also purple. Red rose petals covered most of the floor. But the one thing that really caught your eye was the figure standing in the middle of the room. “Oh, umm, hello,” it said with a smile as it walked towards you. “You’re a human, aren't you?” Taking a closer look at the creature, you realize it was another pony. It had light yellow fur, with a light pink mane and tail. It wore a blue robe, with small hole on the back for its wings to stretch out. You nod your head, answering the pony’s question. “Oh my. Well, do not be afraid. I'm here to help. My name is Torishy. I'm the guardian of these ruins.” She went up to you and held out a hoof for you to hold, which you did, feeling safe. “Let me guide you through to your new home.” You walk out of the room, holding the pony’s hoof. She seemed to be nice. At least, nicer than that Pinkie Pie you saw earlier. Whatever the case, you felt like it's going to take a long time to get back to the surface. But you felt something in your heart that made you feel safe. You were filled with DETERMINATION! //-------------------------------------------------------// Training And Ghosts //-------------------------------------------------------// Training And Ghosts You follow Torishy through the ruins, taking in the underrated beauty. You felt safe with her, unlike that other pony you saw earlier. You began to think about what she said. “In this world, it's KILL or BE KILLED!” It sent a shiver down your spine. The thought of someone killing you unexpectedly was something that you always feared. You look at Torishy, who was still walking in silence. She notice you looking at her, and smiles. “My child, you are safe with me,” she said. “I know this is a lot to handle, but you just have to stay calm. Just follow me.” Suddenly, everything bad you thought about the mare in front of you went away. It was clear that she cared about you. You began to walk a bit faster, catching up to her. After a bit of walking, the mare stopped. In front of her was some sort of plush looking pony. Its coat of fur was replaced with orange fabric, and its mane and tail was now made from red yarn. “This is a test dummy. I want you to prove what you are,” the mare said, getting your attention. “It would be best of you tried to give it mercy, but you could fight it too, if you want to.” Almost immediately after she finished her sentence, the black box from when you met Pinkie appeared in front of you. But, in the top of the box, three smaller, orange boxes appeared, each reading a different word. FIGHT, ACT, and MERCY. You decide to follow what Torishy said and pushed on the act box with your finger. A new box showed up in front of you, showing your options. Check or Talk. You chose to talk to the dummy. It didn't seem much for conversation, as it didn't reply to what you said. You looked back at Torishy, who was now smiling at what you did. The boxes disappeared as a new box showed up in front of you. YOU WON! You got 0 LV! As that box faded out, you realize that Torishy was gone. You figured that she had left and was now waiting for you in another room. You take one final look at the orange dummy before walking into the next room of the ruins. You’ve been walking for what felt like forever, and you still haven't found Torishy. She couldn't have walked that far at the end of that “fight” with the dummy. Whatever the case, you were just left all alone, exploring the ruins of the underground. As you looked, you saw something odd lying on the ground in a pile of rose petals. It appeared to have the head of a pony, with a pair of headphones on it's ears, but it's body was similar to that of a ghost. You went up to it, noticing that was saying something almost indescribable. “Zzzzz. Zzzzz. Zzzzz (Is he gone?) Zzzzz.” It seems that this ghost pony doesn't know how to pretend to fall asleep, as it continues to repeat the letter Z several times. You decide to move it out of your way so you could get going to find the certain yellow pegasus. As you mode it, its eyes slowly open, revealing its dark red pupils. “Oh, am I in your way,” It asked. “I'm sorry. My name’s Napstascratch. I'm the ghost of a pony who died in the war between our kind and the humans. It's sad, but I'm trying to get through live as a ghost.” She moves a bit to let you pass. “Here, go on ahead. You seem to have somewhere to be. I hope to see you again soon.” She faded out of sight is you walk past where she was. You were a bit confused about what just happened, but you had a strong feeling that you stay this way throughout your journey. After a ton of walking, you come across something else that made you stop in your tracks. It was a large tree, yet it was light yellow and had no leaves on it. All the leaves have fallen to the ground, and they appeared to be light pink, similar to Torishy’s mane. “Oh dear, I’m sorry left without you knowing.” Well, speak of the devil. “I had to prepare something for you. I hope you like it.” The pegasus went up to you and held out a hoof, asking you to hold onto it. You proceeded to do so, knowing you are safe with her. She begins to walk past the tree, heading towards some sort of building. It was purple, like the rest of the bricks in the ruins, but it had a few small windows and a large door. “Come, my child,” the mare said. “Let's head home.” There's a strong feeling in your heart. You don't know why, but seeing a small house like this makes you feel something. You were filled with DETERMINATION! //-------------------------------------------------------// A Somewhat New Home //-------------------------------------------------------// A Somewhat New Home Torishy’s home was simple and sweet. The walls and flooring were made from wood, and every room was decorated with photos, flowers or anything else a normal home might have. You enjoyed looking around the house, still holding onto the owner’s hoof. “Come this way, my child,” you hear her say. “I have something for you.” You follow her down to the end of a long hallway bed she turns towards a wooden door. “This is your new room. I hope you enjoy it. Try and get some rest while in there. I have to finish something up.” She let go of your hand and patted your head before walking away. You open the door, revealing a bright red room. You were placed in every corner, except for the one the had a large bed. You let out a small yawn and decide to follow what Torishy said by getting into the bed and closing your eyes. You began to open your eyes, looking at the room in front of you. Only, there was something new based by the bed. It appeared to be a slice of pie, placed on a small plate. You got out of bed and picked up the treat, taking in it's smell to see what kind it is. It smelled of cinnamon, but also smelled of apples. You were very tempted to eat the pie, but you held back your hunger. You walk out of your room, still holding the pie in your hands. You walked down the hallway and headed for the living room. You saw Torishy sitting in a large recliner, holding a book in her hooves. She noticed you from the corner of her eye, and put the book down. “Oh, did you get some rest,” she asked. “I see you got the slice of pie I made for you. Do you like it?” She then noticed you didn't take a bite of of it. “Oh, I see. Would you like me wrap it up for you? You could have it later when we go back the ruins.” You nod your head, answering her question. She begins to get up and head to the kitchen with the pie. A few seconds later, she comes back with what appeared to be some sort of backpack. “Here, you can use this to carry things you find in the ruins. I wrapped up the cinnamon apple pie and put it in here.” She placed the bag on your back. As she did, you saw that she looked a bit worried. “Now, if you need me, I shall be downstairs doing something. I don't want you down there, alright?” Before you could answer, she had already got up and headed downstairs into the basement. You didn't know what do or where to go. You thought about following her to the basement, but it didn't feel right. You trusted Torishy. You wanted to listen to her. Still, you at least had to know what she was doing down there, so you got up and headed for the stairs. The steps creaked as you took one step, and then another. As you reached the bottom step, you saw a long hallway in front of you, purple bricks made up the walls and floor. You immediately felt your heart drop as you slowly walk through it. As you reach the end of the hallway, you find a giant purple door, similar to the one you saw when you first entered the ruins. You were about to go through it, before you heard her voice. “So, you didn't listen to me warning,” you turn around to see Torishy, a somewhat angry look on her face. “You want to leave. You want to head back to her home up above. Well, we all do, everyone and everything living in despair.” She takes a few steps closer to you. “I didn't think it would have to come down to this, but there's only one for you to leave.” The light in the room darkened as she took one final step closer to you. “Prove yourself to me.” The familiar group of “battle boxes” showed up in front of her, telling you to be ready. You knew you couldn't kill Torishy, she was just too kind. So, you just had to give you mercy. But that might be a problem, as she looked pretty dependent on keeping you here in the ruins. However, you had something that she didn't. Something that you felt in your heart. You were filled with DETERMINATION!
